Jodies Supernatural Support Group 240911
The Great News Community Center's multi-purpose room played host to an unconventional gathering: Jodie's Supernatural Support Group. Among the motley crew were individuals wrestling with their other-worldly natures, including Jodie, a werewolf with a past she's trying to reconcile, and Freya, who expresses her complexities through a mix of humor and pointed questions about legal protections against supernatural threats. Tensions briefly flared when Fayad, visibly antagonistic towards Freya, exited abruptly, hinting at the underlying conflicts some attendees harbored. The group's introductions set the stage for a deeper dive into their personal challenges and the ways they've sought to cope, from the dangerous allure of drugs to the pursuit of validation through others.
As the meeting unfolded, Chara, identifying as Angelborn, shared her struggle with identity and reliance on substance abuse as an escape from existential doubts. Jodie, adopting a leadership role, steered the conversation towards the topic of coping mechanisms, candidly revealing her own battles with belonging and acceptance, fostering a raw and honest dialogue among the group. Aristotle, also Angelborn, echoed the sentiments of fragmentation and the difficulty of discerning one's true desires from imposed expectations. The meeting took a more introspective turn as participants delved into their vulnerabilities, touching on themes of isolation, self-destructiveness, and the quest for connection. Despite the gravity of their discussions, moments of levity and mutual support shone through, with Freya playfully suggesting her "cult of love and cuddles" as a remedy. The meeting concluded with plans to reconvene, leaving participants with a profound sense of solidarity and a shared resolve to navigate their complex identities in a world that often fails to understand them.

In the multi-purpose room at Great News Community Center
The multi-purpose room in the community center is a dynamic space, resonating with the community's heartbeat. Fluorescent lights cast a pragmatic glow over the area, where foldable tables and chairs are frequently arranged in circles for addiction counseling meetings, fostering an atmosphere of openness and support. When not hosting these vital sessions, the room transforms for other events, with a portable stage accommodating presentations or performances. Community notices and motivational quotes pepper the walls, reflecting the room's versatile role. It's a place that shifts seamlessly from a sanctuary of shared healing to a lively hub for various local gatherings.
An old fireplace sits abandoned and mostly obscured by assorted furniture, a relic of an older time for this building.
It is about 65F(18C) degrees.
Fayad walks in through the locked chapel, hesitates, and then places his hand back on the doorknob as if intending to retreat back inside, frowning.
Chara looks down at her coffee cup furrowing her brow in confusion at something
Aristotle shifts where he sits, perhaps a touch uncomfortably - but whatever the trigger goes unseen.
Jodie takes a bit of her cupcake, her eyes slide to the south to spot the figure there but she doesn't try to spook them by calling to them. Instead she directs her attention to the rest of the group. "Others will probably trickle in."
She slaps her upper leg with her free hand then says, "Right well. Might as well start similarly to last time. With a quick introduction of who is who and why we might want to be here."
"I'm Jodie, I'm a werewolf and I've done too many things I'm not proud of." the woman says evenly. It's something she's practiced saying it seems.
"Hi, Jodie." Aristotle says, greeting the woman as if obligated to by nature of the meeting. He's quiet for a little beat as he glances around before asking, "Do we just jump in with intros?" He wonders.
Jodie tips her head to Aristotle. She's stuffing her mouth with a second bite of her cupcake and so she doesn't verbalize her affirmation.
"I'm Freya." Freya gives Chara small smile, maybe realizing she forgot to introduce herself earlier, "Thanks for the cupcakes Chara." She tells the other woman before licking off more icing from hers. Her teal eyes flick to Fayad who is still by the door but she doesn't seem inclined to do anything murderous. Yet anyways.
"Okie-dokie." Aristotle quietly states, exhaling a little as he relaxes. He gives another glance about the patrons here, eyes lingering a bit on Fayad for a moment or three. "Uh, Ari." He states, introducing himself. "Aristotle, but I prefer Ari. I'm a deputy with the Sheriff's Office. So. I deal with the supernatural on a pretty regular basis."
Fayad doesn't seem to share Freya's attitude, glaring directly at Freya with naked bloodlust before he shakes his head, twists the doorknob so heavily it nearly comes off, and heads back into the chapel, slamming the door behind him.
Chara looks up from her coffee still looking abit confused as she looks over to Freya giving a hesitant smile as she says "I am Chara.. I am Angelborn." she says simply
"Hi Ari." Jodie says to Aristotle with a subtle upnod, then to Freya, "Hey Freya." with a sense of familiarity and finally "Hey Chara."
The messy haired woman lowers her cupcake from her lips, idly watching the guy flee through the western door, while the other guy in the hall ran off too. She idly wets her lips then says, "Last time we had different faces and we sort of talked about the sort of things we regretted doing. The stuff that really bothers us. But this time I want to try talking about the things we have been doing to cope, unhealthy or healthy for us. If those things to cope are working to help us deal with our feelings or if they are just making things worse. Would anyone like to start?"
Aristotle seems to contemplate Jodie's words, and though not seemingly eager to kick things off himself, he's mulling over her words if his expression is anything to go by.
Freya doesn't seem particularly inclined to talk either, simply licking the cupcake as she lounges in her chair. Her teal eyes had followed the man back into the chapel and she gives a shrug of her shoulders, "If he makes me go mad again I'm going to be pissed." Is all she says before turning back to Aristotle, "Are there laws against people trying to drive werewolves mad and lunatic? Seems not safe for the populace."
Jodie clucks her tongue at Freya and tells her, "Don't derail my meeting with your sexy thighs and questions." there is a half tease, half-warning there.
"I'd imagine a law like that couldn't actually be made without the general non-aware public have many, many, -many-, questions." Aristotle says, chuckling quietly as Freya's question pulls him from his thoughts. "I got the vibe that guy didn't really like you much. And he looked like two people. S'weird."
Chara looks back down at her coffee cup for a while before stating "Um.. well. After becoming aware about what I was.. i've sort of struggled constantly wondering and doubting my own.. wants and needs. I wonder if they are my own of its just someone elses thats been pressed onto me. Did I ever want to.. join the Temple? Or was it the people who found me who wanted me to join? Did I want to do this? Or that?" she says giving a deep sigh drinking another sip of coffee "I do alot of drugs to shut that up.. just. Have no thoughts."
Chara looks back down at her coffee cup for a while before stating "Um.. well. After becoming aware about what I was.. i've sort of struggled constantly wondering and doubting my own.. wants and needs. I wonder if they are my own or if its just someone elses thats been pressed onto me. Did I ever want to.. join the Temple? Or was it the people who found me who wanted me to join? Did I want to do this? Or that?" she says giving a deep sigh drinking another sip of coffee "I do alot of drugs to shut that up.. just. Have no thoughts." -fixed-
"Do you think drugs make those things go away or do they maybe make you even more vulnerable?" Jodie wonders to Chara as she listens respectfully then gives a rather thoughtful question.
Chara says as she just studies the depths of her paper cup "I.. dont know. Just makes things alot more bearable I guess.."
Jodie nods a few times to Chara, she doesn't tell her she's wrong or seem to pass judgement. Instead she moves on to something else, "Drugs are not really my problem. I mean I like to drink and I might kill one of you if I don't have a cigarette soon..." she grins at this then goes on, "But I've never really belonged anywhere. My family? They fuckin' hate me." she thumbs towards Freya, "Freya's pack of wolves, only one of em wanted to bond with me out of like eight wolves. I've never belonged to any pack." she sighs faintly.
"I'm angel-blooded like you are, Chara." Aristotle quietly chimes in. "Drugs kind of had the opposite effect for me." He says, offering that bit of empathy before letting himself fall silent as Jodie speaks.
"I mention this, cause what I do is constantly seek validation. I'll fuck someone up if it makes other people happy with me. I'll fuck just about anyone who says I look pretty after like one drink." Jodie goes on to say, she's a total open book to the group and apparently she seems quite willing to lead by example. "I'll even fight for Temple humans just so they give me just a little bit of praise. Cause what else do I got?" she glances around, "I don't know if any of you can really relate to that."
Freya glances over at Jodie and opens her mouth and closes it as she looks at Jodie. "Itttt might have to do with you being temple." She taps the back of her neck as if gesturing to something, "Andd I mean my asshole ex alpha dumped me via text and now I'm collecting a harem because fuck that." She shrugs a shoulder at Jodie, "We're all a bit self destructive in some ways."
"We're all a bit self destructive, yes." Aristotle says, echoing Freya's sentiment.
"We wouldn't be here at this meeting if we weren't a little bit self-aware of how fucked up we are." Jodie agrees with both Freya and Aristotle. This seems to provide just a little bit of assurance to the trashy woman. She upnods towards Aristotle, "What about you? How do you cope?"
"I don't." Aristotle offers, the words carried on a little shrug as he answer her. "I mean... I work a lot and I avoid people, but that's not really coping. That's just trading one unhealthy way of living for another." He says. "Like Chara said, it's hard to know if what you want is actually what you want, or if you're just a slave to someone else. And, when that eventually gets you hurt, it becomes a little easier to just adopt a cat or two and stay inside."
"I suppose I -could- just give up and give in." Aristotle states after a brief pause. "I mean... it feels -really- good to give someone else what they want. What they desire. I could always go on a spree of sex and drugs or something. Ending seems like it'd be shit but that whole middle part might be fun."
"I can't even imagine what its like for an angel blooded to spiral and go on a sex and drug spree." Jodie admits to both Aristotle and Chara, "I've dabbled in some drugs but it's never really held my attention the way sex has. I think my type of fucked up just requires someone else to care about me in some way." she can't help but chuckle a little as she says, "Even in school I'd act out just for the attention. Getting yelled at and punished was -something- you know?"
Freya nods in agreement with Aristotle, "It's not even .... angel thing. I think alot of people like to give people what they want. What they desire. To make them happy. It just sucks when you do everything you can and you're ... not good enough for them." The silver haired woman seems a bit bitter.
Chara frowns giving a nod of agreement to Aristotle "Yeah.. I am still thinking on a recent interaction i've had that I cant be sure if I actually thought what I told was.. good. Or if it was just what was projected onto me. People say im different but I cant.. really tell." she says quietly before nodding in agreement to Jodie "The whole.. spiral thing makes us pretty prime to be singled out for brothels and.. bigger." she grimaces and pauses trying to think of a word before deciding on a word "Operations.." she looks down to her ring "I wonder if getting a implant into myself would stop my ability to feel other peoples desires.."
"It's called a lobotomy." Jodie informs Chara grimly. "There is no realistic cure because all you are is human multiplied by two. Anything that would stop you from being what you are would stop you from being a functioning person."
"I guess for you any kind of attention is good attention when you've been starved of it and still are." Aristotle quietly notes of Jodie, sympathizing. "I'm sorry you have to keep going through that."
Jodie shrugs limply at Aristotle then takes a bite of her cupcake. She chews her bite and swallows before she says, "Sometimes I wonder if the idea that the world is ending has created a sort of permission to allow myself to self-destruct. Does anyone else feel that? Like, maybe there's no point in trying to be normal?"
Freya reaches over to pat Jodie lightly on the shoulder, "I care about you. Why do you think I'm here attending these things?" She asks the other woman with slightly widened eyes, "And you're free to join my group of girls. I did offer."
"I can't say I do, but that's because I genuinely don't think the world is ending." Aristotle says, though he quietly states it.
Jodie playfully, but also with a hint of seriousness sticks her tongue out at Freya, "You just offered a drug addict a rock of meth." she shakes her head then says, "We'll see." she looks to Aristotle and nods to them, "I suppose no one can really be sure."
Chara gives a shrug "I was here in Haven when that whole.. vision happened. I still dont know what to make of that."
Chara says "And.. according to other hallucinations I am supposed to die once winter is over. We'll see.."
Freya turns to look at Jodie and her teal eyes are all serious, "I'm serious Jodie. I offer love and cuddles and being mine. That's what our entire cult is about. Accepting and following your desires." She turns to the angelborns, "Angelborns are very welcome by the way."
"I'm perfectly capable of debasing myself and finding strangers to fuck around with that I don't need to ruin friendships that way." Jodie tells Freya with the weirdest excuse ever. "Anyways. Who's gonna watch the debate tonight. I feel like being reminded of how fucked we are."
Chara looks over to Freya staring for a long moment before asking "Like.. giving into my sins?" she asks her voice sounding abit distant
Jodie waggles her finger at Freya after glancing to Chara, "If you are using my support meeting to recruit for your harem. I might have to kick your ass."
Freya looks back at Chara, "Desires are not sins. Just because some prudes wrote in a bible that we shouldn't be gay or like being tied up or taken in the ass or whatever, doesn't mean they're right."
Chara sloowly looks down at her cup "Legion.. told me to do that.. and its just been floating around ever since. I agree with your view on it.." she says with a frown closing her eyes and drinking the rest of her coffee and saying to Jodie "I am.."
"I missed the first one of these that was hosted," Aristotle quietly says, after a little period of silence on his end. "You said," with a gesture to Jodie, "Everyone talked about the worst thing they did? What did you say?" He wonders. "If it's not bringing up old wounds again, that is."
Jodie peers down at her half eaten cupcake as if deciding whether to eat it or answer Aristotle's question. She chooses the latter as she says, "Well I talked about how being a wolf meant I have killed people. Quite a few actually, just for being what I am."
She lifts her shoulders in a weak shrug then elaborates, "It's hard to justify ones self if just by being me, means someone else is going to die. You know? Except like, if the world actually does end, whats the difference.?"
"I guess that depends on if you think the world is actually ending." Aristotle quietly suggests. "Were you born this way? Or... were you turned?"
Chara frowns looking over to Jodie but decides against saying anything for the moment
"I'm a Moore, No one is actually born a wolf but I'm as close to that as can get." Jodie informs Aristotle with a little frown. Not at his question but at her answer. "It's expected that we'll all embrace becoming a wolf when we reach an appropriate age..does this not resonate with you? Wilson?"
Freya coughs, "I was born a wolf." She turns to look at Jodie, "It's not easy for the parents but it does happen."
"Well maybe I'm not totally aware of the biology behind all this. I definitely was a 'normal' but I always knew what was going to happen when I got older." Jodie tells Freya with indifference at her assertion. "It's no different than like being born into a billionaire family knowing that when your old enough, you are still going to be rich as fuck. It was just..never a choice. Even if I did choose it."
"In a way, I suppose, yeah." Aristotle says, nodding at Jodie's question.
Jodie splays her hands out, palms up to the group and says, "Anyways, We should all start heading home to pre-drink and prepare for this debate of the ages." she cracks a smile as she introduces some levity to the conversation. "Maybe in two or three weeks I'll set another meeting..if you all found this productive?"
