Samanthas Haven Drivein Mean Girls The Musical The Movie 240301
At the atmospheric Haven Drive-In Movie Theatre, nestled amidst towering pines, an eclectic group gathers to watch "Mean Girls: The Musical: The Movie." Amidst the chill of dusk and under the threat of storm clouds, the evening begins with casual greetings among friends. Harriet rolls down her window to greet Charlene, Meridith defends her actions against a nun, and Samantha warns of repercussions. As the movie flickers to life on the monumental screen, the group's attention divides between the unfolding drama on screen and their interactions—ranging from Avi's dry commentary on actions deemed foolish to Charlene's light-hearted singing about Harriet and Samantha. The camaraderie among them is palpable, punctuated by playful banter about kissing and a misunderstanding of the acronym for it.
As the night advances, the group settles into the movie, their commentary weaving through its plot and their personal anecdotes. Meridith expresses frustration with her situation, sparking a mix of support and teasing from the others. Samantha's move from her car to the Aston Martin, drawn by Harriet's presence, turns heads and elicits playful remarks, even as they speculate humorously about the pair's activities inside the car. Meanwhile, the movie's narrative prompts discussions on singing while running, world peace, and revenge parties, revealing the depth of their engagement with both the medium and each other. New arrivals like Jodie and Aristotle add layers to the dynamic, their interactions highlighting a tight-knit community bound by shared experiences and a love for the unique setting of their gathering. Despite the shadowy backdrop and the cold, the warmth among the friends shines through, their night at the drive-in a testimony to the enduring charm of cinema under the stars.

The Haven Drive-In Movie Theatre
Shrouded by a dense cloak of towering pines is the ghostly silhouette of the town's drive-in movie theatre. Weather-beaten and hibernating in an atmosphere of melancholic seclusion, its monumental screen stretches into the silent night. The gravel-speckled ground bears the etched imprints of countless tires and a worn-down timber ticket booth stands defiant against the restless passage of time. When it's dark, warm neon lights come from the nearby concession stand and during quite moments in the movies the faint distant sound of the ocean crashing against the shore can just barely be heard.
It is dusk, about 38F(3C) degrees, and there are a few dark grey stormclouds in the sky.
Harriet rolls down her driver's side window to call to Charlene, "Hi, Charlie!"
"Hey Sam - you're looking very pretty in pink yourself," Avi tells Samantha as he waves back, though Meridith's words catch his attention and a brow raises sharply. "Punching nuns seems like a bad idea."
Meridith says "She started it."
Samantha drums her fingers on the side of her car for a few seconds, rings clattering against it. "Careful, or you'll get Beau'd." She warns Meridith.

"So the fuck what, she's a nun," Avi points out dryly. "Fucking idiot," he mutters under his breath, but loud enough to be heard before the movie starts.
Meridith says "I already got Beau'd...or part Beau'd."
Meridith says "Father already threatened to crucify me, which, is part of why I was talking to Abigail, I wanted to drop out."
Meridith grumbles quietly.
"I mean, everyone's wanted to punch them at least once," Charlene remarks to Avi through her open driver-side window. "I guess Meri just took the next step and actually did it."
Meridith says "I told her not to hit me again!"
"Wait she's living in a tent or something?" Samantha asks with a frown.
"How do people sing while running?" Charlene asks, squinting at the screen.
Meridith says "Practice. "
Meridith nods solemnly
"They probably dub over it with studio recordings as well." Samantha claims.
"Harry and Sammie sittin' in a tree, K-I-S-S-N-I-G," Charlene singsongs out of the car window, grinning smugly. "Somehow. From different cars."
Samantha slips out of her car and closes the door, then skips over to the Aston Martin and slips into the passenger seat.
Charlene catcalls Samantha.
Harriet silently spells out what Charlene said, squinting over at the taxi. "Kissnig?" she asks before her attention turns to Samantha who is getting into the Aston Martin.
"No, idiot. Kissing," Charlene tells Harriet, rolling her eyes.
"It's what all the kids are doing these days." Samantha claims of the mispelled kissing.
"Ah, I am so out of the loop," Harriet calls to Charlene after Samantha's very helpful explanation.
"Is Harry's car bouncing up and down?" Charlene asks Meridith, peering nosily at the Aston Martin.
Meridith gazes over at the vehicle and nods firmly. "Yes, definitely."
Meridith says "Windows all fogged up too...maybe they're in distress?"
"Honk if you're alive in there!" Charlene yells, grinning.
"Oh Harry!" Samantha calls out from inside the car.
Harriet does not honk the horn of her car, but the windows aren't actually fogged up. They are tinted, though, and the driver's side is partially rolled down.
Meridith was making it up.
"Does world peace just mean no wars?" Samantha wonders, "Or does it also mean no violent crime."
"Her 'I did it' was definitely the funniest line of this movie so far," Avi observes mildly.
"What about road rage?" Harriet wonders about the requirements of world peace.
"That's some serious cleavage," Charlene remarks.
Meridith seems like she's finally paying attention. "What the hell is happening."
"They're planning a revenge party." Samantha explains helpfully.
Meridith says "...Is this just a retake of the first movie?"
"Kind of, but as a musical," Charlene nods.
Meridith says "...I mean it's a look..."
Meridith waves at Jodie.
Jodie pulls up belatedly to the show and parks somewhere in the back and shuts off the engine to her 4x4. She leans back in her seat and takes the time to light up a cigarette with a vaguely disinterested glance to the screen
Meridith says "Finally, something worth seeing."
"Oh hell no," Avi laughs.
Samantha winces when the girl gets dropped. "Damn, they need to come to our cheer practice." She opines.
Jodie leans forward in her seat and peeks out the front window to glance the nearly full moon in the sky. She scoffs at it then leans back in her seat to take another drag on her cigarette
Harriet nods in complete agreement with Samantha.
Meridith snorts quietly. "Hey! That was my first time!"
"They got Charlize Glass to make a cameo in this movie?" Avi says, sounding impressed.
Charlene leans out of her car window and waves to Jodie. "Hey, Jodie! Wanna come join me and Meri? It's weird sitting alone."
Jodie rolls down her window and looks over at Charlene when she notices she's calling to her. She furrows her brow and looks at their ride, asking, "Did you steal that?"
"No, I got it at a police auction," Charlene tells Jodie easily.
Meridith snorts, and gazes at Charlene as if to ask curiously that she did.
Aristotle pulls into the lot in his charger, and he's made visible once he parks and steps out of the vehicle. He looks a little haggard as he eyes the screen for a moment before taking note of the other cars here and who may be in each one. He manages a smile, lifting a hand to wave at anyone who may be looking, before he's moving towards the spotted range rover.
Spotting Aristotle when he pulls up, Avi leans over and pushes open the passenger door of his Range Rover, tapping on the horn to beckon him over. "Get over here, hottie," he calls out his window.
"Not as cool as stealing it." Jodie says sagely, then she leans back into her seat as if she never heard the invitation to go to the other car in the first place
Already on his way, the tapping of the horn startles him a little, and Aristotle can't help but snicker at his own reaction. "I'm coming, I'm coming," he adds, sliding his phone into his pocket as he slinks into the passenger seat.
Harriet calls out to Aristotle through her half-way rolled down driver's side window, "Tee em eye!" as he announces he's coming.
Meridith says "Sometimes, when I'm looking right at you, ah...romance."
