Alexanders Odd Encounter Sr Noah 240305
Alexander's recovery in the hospital takes a dubious turn when an unfamiliar and nervous "nurse" attempts to draw his blood under the pretext of monitoring for infections related to his broken bones. Suspicious of the man's intentions, especially after noticing the nurse's odd behavior and the unusual procedure for his injuries, Alexander challenges the nurse's authority. This leads to a tense confrontation, revealing the nurse's desperation and hinting at a darker agenda marked by a revealing tattoo of an obsidian, flame-wreath globe. Despite his injuries, Alexander manages to fend off the nurse, throwing a blanket at him and making a resolute dash for the call button and then towards the safety of the hospital's more populated areas.
The ordeal escalates when Alexander alerts the hospital staff, leading to a bizarre chase that culminates in a face-off with another nurse, this one familiar and seemingly trustworthy. Alexander pleads his case, amidst his visible confusion and distress, urging the staff to verify the impostor's claims of being a recent transfer. The questionable nurse's inability to recall the doctor who allegedly ordered the blood test only adds to the suspicion, resulting in the impostor being instructed to stay behind while Alexander is escorted back to his room for safety. Through quick thinking and a refusal to be victimized, Alexander navigates a potentially dangerous situation, exposing the charade of the so-called nurse, whose connections to The Black Flame suggest sinister motives far beyond routine hospital care.

In hospital room 2
This room is sparsely furnished, the sanitary white walls a perfect match
to the linoleum floor and the thin hospital sheets on the gurney that serves
as a bed. A small television mounted in the upper corner of the room is set
at a low volume, and a thin curtain bisects the room in an effort to afford
privacy to the occupant on the other side.
It is afternoon, about 35F(1C) degrees, and the sky is covered by dark grey stormclouds.
("The Black Flame's Ritual")
Alexander is doing his best in a hospital bed, recovering from a broken nose and rib.
As Alexander lies in his hospital bed, recuperating from his injuries, the arrival of a nurse disturbs the peace and quiet of the sterile place. At first glance, he is just like any nurse - with the uniform, dragging a bit of an odd cart behind him. But a second look has a few surprises in store.
For one, Alexander has never seen him before.
For two, he seems oddly nervous.
Yet he manages to force a smile on his face as he spots Alexander. "Ah.. Mister. It's- It's time to check up on your recovery, yes?"
Alexander just stares at the mans eyes. He sits up in his bed, eyes focused and sharp and just stares at him. For a moment, he doesn't say anything, but his features shift into a kind of awareness. If a face could say 'the jig is up' it would be like this.
The nurse seems taken aback by the lack of response, yet continues nevertheless, continuing to speak in an oddly unusual way, as if studied, opposed to natural. "Not a talker are we mister? It is no trouble. First, we will do a bloodtest mm? It is important we monitor your health in full." He suggests as he takes a strange tube, leading to a machine on the cart. It may be recognized from blood donations. "Please stick out your arm straight and try to relax."
"Sorry, I don't recognize you." Alexander explains to the man. He gazes at him studying him closely. "Why do you need to do a bloodtest for a broken leg?" he asks.
Uh oh. The man freezes for a moment, then recovers into a nervous smile, "Why, for infections of course. You never quite know what will infect, do you?" He suggests as he faffs about with the tube, needle at the end, "Now could you please stick out your arm? The faster you do so, the quicker we can continue to ensuring your recovery." He suggests to Alexander a little impatiently, eyes flitting about.
throws the blanket at the man, and reaches up, snagging the call button. He grunts with the effort. He's hurt, pretty bad, but he's got his motion even if it sucks to exercise it. If the man is anywhere close or approach, Alexander' drive a foot towards his gut. A teachable moment for the man regarding the condition of his leg.
This could just be a helpless misunderstanding. A new guy, nervous and bad at his job, got the wrong order for the wrong room. He might wind up in the clinic, a terrifying thought. But, as he's learned, survival oft requires quick action.
The man blinks as a blanket is thrown at him, then springs into action, jumping Alexander in a way most unsuitable for a nurse, even as he doubles from the force from the kick, seeming desperate as he clenches Alexander's hand, trying to stop him from pressing that button. Even in his pain, he seems determined. And up close, he looks downright predatory as he tries to snatch the button away. "...Mister, you will be in much trouble if you do not... just... cooperate..." Almost pleading there, a tattoo can be spotted on his arm. An obsidian, flame-wreath globe.
Alexander snarls at the man, fighting viciously to free himself, he hollers out. "HELP!" which is a usually problematic thing to do in a hospital. He'll accept the consequences, given the circumstance. He fights without reservation, trying to get away and get off the bed, making a desperate play for the door.
He's familiar with The Black Flame, but only in a distant way. Encountering them up close, in Haven of all places? Adrenaline floods his system, driving a sense of aggression and panic.
Nurse Flame, or whatever his name may be, seems to not have expected this sort of resistance at all, hissing as Alexander calls for help, scrambling after Alexander. Surely, someone else pressed the button by now, a fact the 'nurse' seems keenly aware of as he follows after Alexander, leaving the cart behind.
Alexander winces as he pulls out of the room. Clutching his ribs he hurries towards the ward center, just trying to get himself into a crowd around others. This guy might care a lot less about keeping things quiet than Alexander.
The 'nurse' runs after him with a curse, people gawking at the strange sight as he does so. Borrowed time, as before long, another nurse steps forwards from before Alexander. She /does/ look familiar, perhaps responding to the call button as she stares blankly at the spectacle.
Alexander pivots. He takes a slow steadying breath "This man entered my room to draw my blood. I don't believe he works here or he's really quite bad at his job." He turns to the nurse. "I apologize, but I'd like to request if he is a member of staff that I have someone else take over." He knows he looks crazy, he knows he sounds crazy. But he also knows reasonable and calm yet quirky is the only chance he has of not winding up strapped somewhere.
She furrows her brow at Alexander, the nurse clearly not really trusting the man in this, though hesitant enough to at least give the other nurse a lookover. "I am a transfer." The man claims, "You can ask my boss about me." She squints her eyes as he claims that, nodding slowly. "...And why were you drawing his blood? If memory serves me..." She looks at Alexander's leg. "..." Well, that's recipe for confusion. "...Standard test." The woman looks back up, nodding slowly. "...Which doctor ordered it...?"
"...I don't remember his name."
The nurse bites at her inner cheek. "...I will be taking the patient back to his room then. While you - you'll remember the name of your doctor, yes...?"
