Aristotles Odd Encounter Sr Caim

In the shadowy depths of Sherrin Woods, a tense exchange unfolds among the remnants of a group that has just confronted a subtle and unsettling corruption in nature. Alexandrea cuts through the emotional aftermath with harsh words to the mourning owls, dismissing their tears for a companion now beyond their reach. Aristotle, with concern in his voice, checks on Caelum's arm, while Avi suggests a weary retreat to the safety of their waiting bus, leaving any residual turmoil for the mysterious Brown to resolve. Among the eerie silence and the pervasive darkness, the group grapples with recent events, their dialogue punctuated by a collective sense of loss and the flicker of heroism from the unassuming Caelum, whose bravado is matched by the physical and emotional scars they've all began to bear.

As the group makes their way to the bus, each interaction is imbued with a mix of gratitude, concern, and levity. Caelum admits his own near demise was foiled by Avi's strategic suggestion, while Tabitha muses on the tree's strange seduction, prompting light-hearted disbelief from Caelum. Alexandrea intends to find solace in sleep upon their return, think little of the harshness she displayed earlier. Aristotle and Avi, reconciling with the night's grim events and their harrowing encounter, half-joke about the possible misunderstandings they could face with a guidance counselor. Despite the quips, their weariness is evident as they settle onto the bus, the group bonded by their shared experience and hinting at past confrontations they weathered within the peculiar reality they inhabit.

In Sherrin Woods - The Shadowy Depths
`#000.
Further into the depths of the Sherrin Woods, the already sparse winter foliage takes on a muted pallor, and twisted trees cast elongated shadows beneath a canopy of unnatural stillness. A subtle eeriness pervades the air, with soft wisps of mist dancing near the forest floor, and an elusive darkness clinging to the velvety moss on the ground beneath one's feet. Ethereal whispers and distant calls are so infrequent as to make the silence seem deafening, creating an atmosphere that resonates with an unsettling quiet.

Hints of magic's influence appear in delicate ways: the occasional unseasonal flower with subtly light-absorbing petals, and trees bearing claw markings or what look like lash marks. These subtle anomalies suggest an undeniable shift in the balance of nature, a testament to some quiet corruption unfolding in the heart of the once serene Sherrin Woods.

It is night, about 16F(-8C) degrees, There is a waxing crescent moon.

"...no, I'm fine," Alexandrea assures Caelum, giving a snippy statement to some of the crying Owls: "People die. Some die more than others, sooner than others, and he got you idiots to do this in the first place so it's probably good he's dead. Stop crying, he can't come back."

"Well... it... certainly went." Aristotle says with a small huff, looking over to Caelum. "How's your arm?" He asks him.

"It went," Avi confirms. "Up in flames. He gestures weakly. "Let's head back to the bus and leave Brown to clean up the mess they made.""

"It went," Avi confirms. "Up in flames." He gestures weakly. "Let's head back to the bus and leave Brown to clean up the mess they made." (fix)

"Offer's still there," Caelum says to Alexandrea, just quiet enough - with a slightly hoarse voice. Dry, rather. Avi, on the other hand, gets a return of that pained smile, "It'll be alright, I'm hard to put down if nothing else." then concern, passing between Aristotle, Tabitha, Avi - panning each face. "Are we all here still, all limbs intact?"

"It ... yeah. I'm sorry that I was not as much help as I'd hoped.." Tabitha says, the hand, bloodied, now at her hair again to rub, leaving a little streak of her blood in it. "I don't think it is over, though. But the tree is dead, and Cael is the hero that we needed." She smiles, softly, "I'm fine. But it wanted to seduce us to let it take us, for sure."

"Still here. Limbs attached. More alive than..." Aristotle motions towards where Jordan was consumed, and soon he's moving towards Avi. "Yeah, lets head back." He says.

After her snippy revelation on Death to the Owls, Alexandrea is already on her way towards the bus. She doesn't care if she was mean, or wait for them to respond to her; she wants on the bus now.

"I'd be dead," Caelum murmurs, "If Avi didn't pitch the idea to do it from afar." and nods to the clear brain of the team. Yet a look passes at Tabitha again, brows knit, somewhat amused. "Seduced? By a tree?" Even still, he's following Alexandrea slowly, following her to the bus.

"I'm going to bed once we get back," Alexandrea reveals to Caelum, once she sees he's keeping up with her.

"We'd all be dead if you hadn't had your flaming mind-bullets power," Avi tells Caelum, passing on the appreciation. "I'm sorry we didn't...prevent that from happening," he apologizes to Tabitha awkwardly. "Those of you who got touched might want to speak to the guidance counselor, or something," he suggests, heading back toward the bus once the excitement is over.

OOC: Let me know where you want dropping off.

"I get it." Caelum nods to Alexandrea, with a light chuckle that passes her way. His jacket, with its half-burnt sleeve, is draped over his arm, more or less obscuring the burns he endured, even though they're likely healing already. He matches Alexandrea's pace, slow and steady, while shooting back at Avi. "Thanks." The smile that comes with it is genuine, warm, even.

"I don't think the guidance counselor is gonna understand us if we say we almost got Evil Dead'd by a tree." Aristotle admits, quietly.

"Explain that to Sister A." Tabitha says, wearily.

"I feel like a White Oak guidance counselor has probably seen some shit," Avi says wearily as they settle onto the bus.
