Evans Odd Encounter Sr Lenny 250127
In a dramatic escapade set against the backdrop of a moonlit artist's bedroom, Evan and Lark find themselves in an unexpected confrontation with a vampire, cleverly hidden in the tranquility of the room. The vampire, a smartly dressed individual with a deceptive demeanor, underestimates the resilience and courage of the duo. Evan, driven by a sudden surge of bravery, lands a punch on the vampire, momentarily disorienting him. This act marks a pivotal moment in their encounter, revealing the vampire's vulnerability and setting the tone for the rest of their interaction. Lark, witnessing Evan's bold move, swiftly joins the fray, reinforcing their stand against the supernatural threat. Together, they manage to overpower the vampire, a testament to their strength and determination. This critical confrontation underscores the themes of courage and teamwork, as Evan and Lark navigate through the perilous situation.
The resolution of the conflict is swift but charged with significance. Deciding against further aggression, the duo opts for a strategic retreat, prioritizing their safety over a prolonged confrontation. This decision demonstrates their practical wisdom and adaptability. Evan, with a sword in hand, and Lark, with unyielding resolve, make a quick decision to leave the scene, a choice that underscores their mutual trust and unspoken bond. Their departure from the vampire's presence is not just a physical act of moving away; it symbolizes their triumph over an unforeseen adversary and their ability to confront and overcome challenges together. As they disappear into the safety of the night, leaving the stunned vampire behind, Evan and Lark emerge not just as survivors, but as heroes who have successfully navigated the treacheries that lie in the shadows. Their journey back to the mundane safety of their apartment marks the end of an odd encounter, leaving them with a tale of unexpected bravery and an affirmation of their strength as a team.

In an artist bedroom
The most striking facets of this large, rectangular bedroom are the windows
that span the entire western length of the bedroom, allowing for sunlight
or moonlight, depending on the time. Gauzy hunter green curtains on the far
end of the giant wall-window allow for adjustable privacy. In the middle
of the room is a large queen sized bed with fluffy white pillows spread
haphazardly across a snow white down blanket.
An artist station is set up by the northern part of the window, complete
with easels of various size and a veritable gradient of multicolor paints
meticulously organized along with an organized cubby of variously shaped
brushes and bottles of gesso. Sketches, both pencil and ink, in various
states of creation line a flat surfaced wooden desk.
The floor is the same golden pecan shade as the bed frame while the walls are
painted a soft eggshell white that reflects the purity of the light that falls
into the room. A white sheepskin area rug lends a sense of softness to the
space. A variety of succulents and small potted plants imbue the room with a
sense of life. Paintings of various styles hang upon the eastern wall.
It is night, about 32F(0C) degrees, and there are a few dark grey stormclouds in the sky. There is a waning crescent moon.
Evan steps closer to the man, and drops his gaze somewhere near the man's mouth and just throws a fist forward, hoping he's fast enough to connect and disorient the man for a moment or so.
It's not the most fantastic punch but Evan does have brute strength and a smartly dressed pale man with black hair and dark eyes wasn't expecting him. The punch connects with the vampires face and he stumbles back three paces disorientated for sure. "You dare-.." he says before he even gets his eyes focused again.
Lark's pale features grow even more pale at seeing the punch, but there's no time for hesitation. A few quick steps close the gap to bring her towards Evan's side, next to the pale man.
Quickly a two on one ensues, while a smartly dressed pale man with black hair and dark eyes is reeling from a high power punch, Lark comes in to deliver another. Both punches put the man on his ass and he reaches up to clutch his nose, "Shi' enough enough! You can go!" he surrenders real quickly. He was likely bluffing and can't take both victims at once.
"I do dare," Evan tells the man. He reaches out to take Lark's hand, sword unsheathed in his free hand, pointed in a threatening way towards the pale man. "Come on," he tells Lark, taking a small step back, waiting for her final decision on the plan here.
Lark takes Evan's pro-offered hand. "Let's go," she says, not one to tempt fate further, though she yells out at the pale man, and to the silence of the dark forest: "Don't think I'm gonna forget this, Sara!"
Vampires don't bleed very well, even though his nose might have been crushed a smartly dressed pale man with black hair and dark eyes doesn't show too much damage. He slowly tries to get off his butt but doesn't look ready to chase after Evan and Lark if they choose this moment to bolt for it.
Evan moves with Lark, turning around and bolting off into the forest and back into the town proper, to their home and relatively safety.
Unlike Lot's wife, Lark doesn't look back. There's no point. She bolts off alongside Evan, intent on getting to safety.
It's not really that far from the apartments for the pair to run for it, it seems the Vampire thought better than to chase the pair. He's outnumbered and out strengthed after all. Later Sara might need a stern talking too. But for now Lark and Evan have managed to go looking for the lost civilian that never seemed to existed at all, it was just a trap they stumbled into and stumbled out of
