Finns Odd Encounter Sr Rashid 250102

During a daring night-time operation, Finn and Sam infiltrated an incomplete building under the cover of darkness. Their goal was to locate and deal with Doctor Rice, a man seemingly involved with clandestine activities. Finn, skilled in lock picking, initially attempted to quietly bypass a secured trapdoor believed to lead to the heart of their target's operations. When his tools proved inadequate against the trapdoor's sophisticated lock, the duo resorted to brute force, successfully breaking through. They discovered a makeshift laboratory where Doctor Rice was caught off guard, amidst his experiments.

The confrontation escalated quickly. When Doctor Rice attempted to use a dangerous chemical against them, Finn's quick thinking and Sam's supernatural agility turned the tide. Finn's adept maneuvering and Sam's fearless intervention allowed them to subdue the vampire before he could use a hand-crossbow. In a decisive moment, Finn staked Doctor Rice, incapacitating him. Sam then ensured the vampire's permanent demise, fulfilling their grim task with a message of retribution for Venice. In the aftermath, Finn and Sam took measures to eliminate any evidence of their presence and Doctor Rice's experiments by setting the place ablaze, ensuring nothing but ashes remained. Their grim work concluded with the promise of future contact for further assignments, wrapping up their endeavor with a tacit understanding of the dark world they operate within.

In the Entry Hallway
A deep blue hallway opens up the entrance, two walls embracing either side of the doorway, with space for a shoe rack, jacket hooks, and a mat for wiping one's feet. One need only take a few more steps for the hallway to open up - to the left is a room where soft padded panels cover the walls, and a non-slip floor replaces carpet. To the right, the living room and kitchen are light by the sun during the day. Straight ahead, a bedroom door sits nestled next to a potted lavender plant on a small stand on the left, and an aquarium on the right that stretches out into the living room. Blue shag marks the floor beneath the mat, soft, long, and well cleaned.

The gentle scent of lavender wafts through the area.

It is night, about 13F(-10C) degrees, and there are a few dark grey stormclouds in the sky. There is a waxing crescent moon.

Finn nods "If I can't get it, booting it down makes for a good plan B" He says, placing the briefcase down carefully before getting down in front of the door, squinting to look into it before fishing a wavy looking pick and a tension tool out of the packet "... Might be able to just rake the thing open ..." He says, sliding the head of the wrench into the lock, carefully pushing down his thumb on it, and then putting the wavy looking tool in and raking it back and forth!

For the most part, there's no doors yet. Which explains away the reason for the security guards who just left. The building barely has the bottom floor finished, but the skeleton of it is rather complete. Sam and Finn could probably just leap through one of the areas where the walls haven't been bricked up yet. Or they could go through the front door, or what may eventually be the double doors that lead in from the front.

Finn doesn't actually do any of the stuff I just wrote about.

Finn keeps the briefcase close as the stalk their way through the building, keeping his head down, quietly leaning forwards to check around corners "... You've got good eyesight in the dark, right?" He whispers to Sam as they walk ...

"That... I do." Sam smirks, his eyes gleaming occasionally in the light, much like a cat's, or perhaps a snake's. He tries to remain quiet, his eyes flitting about as the jock, while night-able, seems not so very able to track usefully.

Finn can't see well in the dark, but he's good at paying attention ...

"As Finn and Sam enter the premises, the first thing they'll notice is the loud thrum of a generator. Below them. Definitely below them. Gas-fueled variety that runs and runs until it's on empty. Of course, neither of the men would be able to guess-timate the size, but it's there, thrumming and belching out its clanky roar. Nothing is decorated within the innards, if one gets used to the dark and looks around. There's little light to shine in the place. Bare-bones, but, there's power tools, building material, and electrical cords everywhere. The stairs, wood, have apparently just been built, considering the amount of power supplies focused in that area, near the rear of the building. The brick has only been laid for about two fifths of the house. Roofing material can be seen out back. There's no insulation. The cold wind moves freely.

However, there is something, in the floor, right beneath the newly placed stairs, in an alcove that would probably be hidden away once the building has been completed. A trap door, almost reminiscent of those tornado shelters out west. It even has a lock built into it."

Finn glances over to Sam. He points down at the lock before, as quietly as he can, getting down to his knee and taking out the picks. He takes out the tension tool, but seeing a padlock this time takes out a hook instead of a rake. Lifting the lock as quietly as he can he starts to carefully, and painfully slowly, tap at the pins inside the lock one pin at a time, soft, routine clicks coming from the padlock as it's binding shifts with every pin guided into place ...

as he picks, Finn whispers up to Sam "Gas powered home generator ... Thousands of accidents happen all around the country with those, you know ..." He tells the man, looking at him with a dark expression, as if to ask if Sam was picking up what he was putting down ...

A soft chuckle escapes the jock's lips. "Such a shame." Sam lets Finn work, crossing his arms over one another as he takes that strange, oily knif ein his hand again, a shudder passing through his body as he does so.

The lock is rather sturdy, even for Finn. There's two sets of pins within the lock (above and below, requiring a key with two sets of teeth), making it far more difficult to pick it open, especially not with it embedded into the metal trap doors. If the lock were just outside, the boxer could probably just slam another lock into it, break it, and open the doors with ease, but, it's the innards of the door. Seems, at the very least, the Vampire knows what he's doing and he's upped the security to, what can be presumed, to be the lair below.

Luckily though, the doors themselves look particularly flimsy. They might be able to be pried open if someone has enough strength. Or, the duo can go loud and blast off the door handle and lock assembly with their gun. There's potentially more options available.

Finn shakes his head "Non standard lock. I'd need a specialized tool." He tells Sam before sighing. He gets up to his feet and puts his tools away. "Plan B it is ... On three?"

"On three. Be ready to drop in, and lay down fury, yeh?" Sam prepares, counting down. "One..." He looks to Finn, aiming to just crack that trapdoor open, the jock's muscles rippling. "Two... THREE!"

Finn slams his foot into the door alongside, Sam, two heavy boots crashing into the hopefully flimsy door's frame, right at the lock ...

As both men stomp down upon the door, it buckles and falls free from its hinges, clattering to the floor below. And, so do Finn and Sam fall, not too far behind the aluminum pieces, now dented from the force. Inside is a small room, with a very surprised obese, bald, blubbery whale of a man. The man shown within the photograph before. This is clearly Doctor Rice, and as of prior, just before the two kicked the door in, it appears he was messing with an alchemy set. It bubbles, boils and churns while the generator growls and clanks loudly in the corner. A bed lays at the other end of the room, intelligently placed well away from the alchemy lab. "What the fuck?" Doctor Rice sputters, blinking widely. In a frantic panic, he takes a vial, green and bubbling, sizzling even, and turns, his intentions clearly readable with the way he clumsily palms the contained. He's about to try and throw it at the duo.

it was either duck back behind the door, or move forwards. If he went behind the door, the man might have a second vial, or even a gun. The vial was getting thrown, so Finn decides his best bet is to move out of it's way ... If it was being thrown with the intent to hit him at chest height, if it missed, it should hit the floor several yards behind him, hopefully that would be far away enough for him to be safe from whatever it's contents were ... He darts to the side! Taking a step that touched his knee to the ground like he was shooting for a single leg, he ducks down and to the side!

"Yo." As the older vampire moves, small wings shimmer around Sam's ankles, and he bolts forward, the jock fast, like an arrow, or perhaps a messenger of myth. Either way, he puts himself in between the vampire and Finn, trying to both body-block the vial, and allow Finn time to do what must be done.

"NAIL HIM!" He barks, trying to buy Finn enough time.

once out of the way, Finn immediately goes into a charge at the vampire! Throwing the briefcase aside as he collects the stake within, he goes for a leaping lunge directly at the vampire! It might have been smarter to try and tackle the vampire, get him to the ground and make sure the stake found it's mark, but Finn was confident in his precision.

As Finn dodges to the side, Sam charges forward, body-blocking the vial, which shatters when flung from Doctor Rice. It explodes over his body and the acid within splashes all across his face, sizzling and leaving quite a few red marks on the skin. Thankfully, Sanctuary protects. Which now appears to confuse the vampire whose under attack. Bewildered, he scans his small room, panicked by the two men bearing down on him. Then he's staked by Finn, just as he reaches for a hand-cross-bow that's sitting on the table of the alchemy lab. He's paralyzed now, frothing at the mouth as that wooden piece slams into his heart, causing him to slump over and fall upon all the instruments scattered across the desk. Fizzling, bubbling, sizzling.

Finn wears a snarl on his face as he watches the decrepit, obese man start frothing at the mouth, letting go of the stake as he takes a step back to allow the man to collapse down on to his back "Dirty fucker ..." He says, checking himself for any splashes of the acid before looking over to Sam and wincing "Jesus dude, you alright?" He asks the man, his stomach rolling as he watches the acid eat away at the man's skin ...

The Acid seems to bite into Sam's skin, but at the same time, slowly, but surely, his wounds are just knitting themselves back together. Sure, that acid leaves it's mark, but the Jock seems to not really care much. Maybe he's used to it, or maybe he's focussed on the task at hand.

With a smirk, Sam looks at the vampire. "Welcome to fucking Haven." He leans forward, and slashes his knife over the man's throat, hissing low as he does so. "Venice sends her regards." Sam keeps stabbing that knife until the body stops twitching, and then some, as if to make sure the un-dead is well and thouroughly dead. "Motherfucking leeches."

Finn says "Mark mentioned "Leech" too ..."
Finn says "I assume it's more than just an insult?"
Sam says, simply, "Vampires are real. Made as soldiers by demons. "
as he talks, Finn is looking around for that gas power generator they'd heard earlier, or better than that if he can find it, any gasoline stockpiled to fuel the thing. Once he's found it ...

Finn says "What's a leech type?"
With time, the vampire is dead, with multiple stab-wounds and that stake in his chest the reason. That body slumps even further, before suddenly dissipating into ash, drifting to the floor. All the spilled vials and broken instruments on the table begin melting and burning the area, the stake is lit on fire, and sooner or later, there won't be much left behind of that area. The gas can easily be found and lit aflame, helping with the work of the acid and other chemicals that have started a fire. This is a success, certainly for Finn and Sam. Especially when the latter receives another unknown message. "Good work. I'll contact you in the future if I need more assistance."
