Junipers Odd Encounter Sr Alina 241118

In a modern and luxurious beach house nestled against the turbulent seas of Haven, Juniper and Elias find themselves once again entangled with demonic disturbances. Their tranquil evening is shattered when an emergency alert warns of a serial killer, which quickly proves to be a misnomer for a demon set loose in their vicinity. This particular fiend, a creature of hellfire and blood, had been inadvertently summoned by a group of individuals, the Destined Host, who met a gruesome end for their folly. The demon, taking the form of a menacing man after emerging in a spectacle of blood and power, sets his sights on the duo's home, smearing the windows with blood as if marking his new territory. Despite their weariness from past encounters, Juniper and Elias prepare to confront the entity, their banter belying the gravity of the situation.

As the demon approaches, the tension escalates, but so does the dark humor and determination of the couple. Elias, showcasing his arcanist prowess, and Juniper, with her quick wit, attempt to negotiate, only to find their opponent interested in crude bargains. Amidst the arcane and the absurd, a solution as unorthodox as the situation itself presents itself: chocolate cake. In a bizarre turn of events, the demon becomes enamored with the confection, momentarily forgetting its hellish objectives for a taste of earthly delights. The standoff reaches a peculiar climax as the creature agrees to leave, swayed by the promise of more chocolate, leaving behind a testament to their encounter - Juniper’s dagger, now transformed into gold. As the demon departs, possibly in search of more sweets than souls, Juniper and Elias are left in the aftermath, a mix of frost and broken glass, their bond strengthened by yet another oddity survived together.

In the Master Bedroom of a Modern Beach House
The master bedroom of the house is easily one other largest rooms of the house and is where the luxury of the home takes a huge leap. The walls are slated in oak planking, which gives a somewhat rustic look even though they are sanded smooth and covered in a lacquor. The floor itself is covered in a plush, navy blue carpenting. The bedroom has a large bayside window which overlooks the ocean. The half-cone brass fixtures illuminate the room to a comfortable level.

It is after dusk, about 52F(11C) degrees, There is a waning gibbous moon.

(The Destined Host has managed to summon a minor demon in an isolated part of Haven, and the creature is now running amok. Your target has been identified by the local authorities as a person of interest who might be able to help. They must either find a way to banish the demon back to its own realm, or capture it and convince it to serve them instead. The Destined Host, meanwhile, will be working to keep the demon here and to eliminate anyone who might interfere with their plans. This could lead to a confrontation with the group, or even an uneasy alliance if your target decides that the demon might be more useful as an ally than an enemy.)
A blistering cold wind blows across the town of haven as the last rays of the sun dip just underneath the horizon. The ocean is turbulent today, waves rippling with red fire almost as angry. Tall crests crash into the rocks near the beach, sending a spray of brine into the air. Just another day in Haven or is it?

Deep in a cave off the beach, hidden behind lush green vegetation, soft chanting can be heard as a ring of 7 people, dressed in red robes and hoods stand around a very innocent looking summoning circle. Blood paints the floor and the walls of the cave, illustrating a 7 pointed star and one of the robed was finishing the last touches as his finger, dipping blood finishes the last line of the circle closing it.

"Oh great Haagenti, Great demon of Hell! We summon thee! We call upon thee! Come forth into our domain and bring with you your gifts and blessings!"

Blood drips down the arm of the robed people, slow droplets that splash onto the ground. Drip drip as the chanting increases, growing louder. The blood circle on the ground flashes, growing a brilliant gold and then a deep, crimson red. A gash appears in the center of the circle. Something thrashes in the middle of the gash, pushing against the very fabric of the world until with a roar it breaks through. Blood rains down in the cave as the head of a bull pushes it's way into this world. A sense of foreboding emanates from the creature as it slowly forces it's way out of the portal, out of the very bowels of hell. Black eagle wings help propel the creature through, it's wingspan bigger then the circle but somehow it manages until a bull with the wings of a griffin stands snorting in the middle of the heptagon.

"Who dare summons me?" A low, snarling voice fills the caverns as one by one the supplicants fall to their knees. The shape of the bull wavers, shifts and the humans present shield their eyes with their arms as a blinding red light fills the cave for a moment. When they can see again, in place of the bull is a man. An exceptionally cruel looking man with flat grey eyes that try to suck one into their depths. High cheekbones lead to a face full of disdain as the figure, dressed in a cloak and loincloth stares down at the people who had dared bring him forth into this world.

"Oh great Haagenti! We the Destined hos-" Before the first of the robed people can finish their sentence, their body had been launched across the cave to crumble against the wall. Screams filled the cave as the destined host tried to scatter - but no to avail. There is the sound of rich tearing and ripping as one by one those who dared to bring the demon into the world crumbled before they even got out their last word. Such is the fate of those who tempt it.

Close by, in her bedroom at a modern beach house, Juniper's phone gives off a loud ringing alert. One of those government ones for disasters or lost children. Something like that. Her phone flashes: Emergency warning. This is a proximity broadcast. There is a serial killer on the loose. Please lock all doors and windows and hide in your basement. Haven PD. NW666.

NW666, was it a chatroom or something or rather? In any case it seems to trigger something in Juniper's phone. A green light flickers on the screen as the chatroom pops up - had she ever actually joined it? But another alert is pinged. -Demon on the loose. If you come upon it, your first words should be 'I want to bargain'. Have metal on you. Haven PD.

Outside of the beach side house, Juniper's sensitive hearing might pick up that the general noises of the forest, the sound of insects... birds... The caw caw of the silly raven that hadn't decided to migrate to warmer weather grows silent. Silent and still as the very forest is hiding from something.

Down on the beach, visible through the beautiful bay windows a shadow slowly makes it's way down the sandy stretch. The last rays of the sun had not fully set yet... but one can see the tilt of the figure's head as it looks upon the house and slowly, surely it's path changes course, heading towards the cozy house nestled within nature.

Having just gotten dressed into comfy clothes, out of her office friendly attire for the day, almost no sooner had Juniper gotten her arm threaded through her jacket is her phone going off. With an annoyed expression she views her screen, shrugging her jacket onto her shoulders to finish dressing and then turning to the man in their room who had presumably been resting on the bed. "Elias," she says his name carefully but with trepidation. "We've got demon problems again." Surely, the same notification is likely to have been sent to the dark-haired man's phone as well, but just in case that nap hit really good...

Spending a little bit too much of time perhaps looking into the mirror as he adjusts his collar on his dress shirt, making sure everything is perfect with his appearing when Juniper's phone starts blowing up. Elias turns his head through the open door from the bathroom into the bed room, the dark haired man asks his beautiful blonde, "Is it telemarketers? Tell them we already that we are happy with our roofing tiles."

"Demon problems? Again? We just dealt with one. Again so soon?" Elias offers with a grunt.

Juniper totally said those things to a freshly showered, not napping, man.

"Well... either this is the rule of threes or it's related, and either way, it's going to be our problem shortly," Juniper relays to Elias dismally. "Best get your sword on hand, I suppose. Listen." She pauses gesturing to the windows outside as she does. "You hear it? Or rather, hear nothing?"

Said demon on the beach apparently doesn't know how demon fatigued out both Juniper and Elias are. Otherwise it might have given them leave. Or maybe not, demons are annoying in that way. It slowly makes it's way towards the house, drawn by the light coming through the bay windows and the promise of life within it's walls. It moves not like a person.. but like a ghost, in a slow glide that gives one the impression it's floating slowly towards them.

Dressed now in a robe, the demon appears to be dressed in the same red of the destined host- at first glance anyways. The steady drip drip of blood trailing from it's sleeves and in black puddles on the ground behind it in it's path describes something mayhaps a little bit more... gory. As if the robe itself had been dipped in a vat of blood. The man that the demon had assumed is handsome, despite the cruel appearance of his face and those grey eyes blink once as it lifts its hand to knock on the glass. Knock knock. Smearing blood on the poor windows that Elias is probably doomed to clean weekly if not daily from the salt brine that blows in from the ocean. Knock Knock.

Pale grey eyes stare from Elias to Juniper as a slow smile spreads across the man's lips. A smile not quite right.

"Well, my best sword has always been my magic. Lets see." Elias says as he starts to head towards the door, "If it is headed this way, it will either have to take the bridge or wade through the bay. While our little island is beautiful, it is a fortress in its own right too, along with the natural barriers, there are my wards." He says when he turns to see a face looking through the window, "Well, it seems like he has already made the swim then." And with that, the dark haired demigod heads towards the front door to greet their guest.

"I think th-" Juniper begins to say in contemplative tones before she is inevitably distracted by that face at the window that looks in at them. While a shudder goes up her spine in an inevitable response to the eeriness of something made of not-right-ness, she remains rather calm. A weariness and confidence combined that has her feeling more like a supernatural babysitter than a victim. Elias leaving for the door certainly causes her to blink however and turning from the unsettling peeping Tom, she moves to follow Elias to the front door as it were. In her usual stance just slightly behind Elias's shoulder, she remains close but curious. "I don't recognize him, for what it's worth," she offers. "Though that likely means little given how slippery they can be in appearance."

Once he makes it around the outside of the house, Elias raises a hand over to the demon in greeting with a small smile on his face, "Oh good evening. Are you hurt? I see the blood you have there." He offers, but the smile is cold, just an illusion of friendliness, "Are you lost? Not many strangers make it this far out."

Unfortunately for Elias, the cruel eyed demon doesn't really seem to know what a front door is. Probably something to do with the fact that it doesn't live in this century. Or this plane. Or know what a house is. So as Elias and Juniper start to make their way out of their bedroom, the demon knocks again on the glass. Knock knock. Only this time, the glass shatters into a million shards of safety glass - good house design after all. Post shattering, the demon turns to look at Elias who had made it outside of the house slowly. "Hmm." A low voice mutters comtemplatively as it looks upon the demi god.

It is at this moment perhaps, a most pivotal moment in time that Juniper maybe remembers the message that she was sent on her phone..

Juniper sighs at the mess the demon has made - babysitting indeed, and clears her throat with disapproval before stating with a barely concealed eye roll, "I want to bargain." There's an apologetic look thrown at Elias, as if this might sound familiar.

"Well, alright June." Elias says as he nods to Juniper, shifting his cold gray-blue eyes towards the demon once more.

Grey eyes look Elias from top to toe, sweeping over the man. "Hmm." It repeats again as it spends a moment admiring the demi god. "You look like you'd survive a rutting. Maybe." Straight white teeth flash as it's skin starts to morph and shift, a brilliant, blinding light coming from it's skin - probably designed to blind people so you know, it doesn't get stabbed while shifting. When the light is clear, a very, very large bull - the largest bull Elias has ever seen probably with the wings of a griffin stands in it's place. The glass under foot gets crunched as it paws the ground, digging some rivets into the ground that whoever does the gardening between the two of them would likely have to fix. It's breath snorts from it's nose as it lowers it's head, golden horns pointed outwards towards Elias. Just as it's about to charge however Juniper says the magic words and the form dissolves, turning back to that of a handsome man, dressed well... in blood. "Oh you want to bargain." He starts with a smile towards someone, "Very well. What would you give me to turn this..." He looks up at the house with a sweep of his hand, "Hovel into gold?" A finger is pointed towards Elias, "I would take him as a foot boy."

As the demon goes on about a rutting, the dark haired man just smirks shaking his head, "I typically die every time. It wouldn't work out really." As he talks to the demon as he stands the yard, looking upon the scene. Overhead, clouds start to swirl out in a spiral pattern consuming the sky in darkness. The shadows seem to bend and twist around Elias, almost seeming to distort reality. The ground starts to become crisp and crunch underfoot as frost starts to grow outward from around his feet as his eyes narrow. He is well-illuminated for but a moment as lightning cracks overhead with a roar of thunder that rattles the windows, "We will have to consider a different deal I think." He suggests with a growl in the back of his throat, very palpable aura of supernatural fear ripples off of him, unsettling those around him.

The trees around them start to bend with loud creaks at the wind stirred from the ground, the leaves which are almost bare from autumn getting stripped to their branches. Grey eyes roll up to look up at the sky as the clouds roll in and the demon takes in the fear rolling off of Elias with a loud, belly laugh. "The kitten has claws. Although dying every time he ruts must be awfully inconveniant." He chortles at Juniper before crossing his arms over his chest, "Very well, I will add 2 goats in on the deal. You drive a hard bargain. But if it's only for one rut and then he'll be dead well..." The demon man spreads his hands out towards either side, "He can't be worth that much."

"He is /my/ foot boy," Juniper tells the demon calmly and confidently enough, her stance a little wider and readied following that shift to creature form and back again. Whatever else she might have thrown back at the demon is kept at bay when Elias is given his space to make his intent known. Not unaffected by the storm and shadows, the blonde is not fearful however, but rather seemingly bolstered by their presence as she levels her gaze at the demon. "We're more in the habit of offering your life for 'fucking off' kind of deals," she purrs in return next to her dark-haired counterpart. The retort to Elias has her considering the demon in a man's shape again with intent hazel eyes. "If you're just looking for a good lay, there's plenty of that to be found in the town proper. Though I know there's a (some say) handsome french man that you might particularly enjoy."

"Yes yes I know he's your foot boy." The demon waves his hand dismissively at Juniper, "Why do you think I'm bargaining with you?" The skeletal hand waves through the air, flicking off a few droplets of blood towards the windows as the demon still doesn't seem to be taking Juniper and Elias that seriously. "That and you're smart enough to ask to bargain." He leans forward, showing a row of perfect teeth, "The idiots who summoned me didn't." There is a clunk and something rolls out of the robe - a giant dildo made entirely of gold. "I presume this is what they wanted me to turn to hold." The demon snorts dismissively, "You can keep that too ontop of the goats for him." Grey eyes again look Elias up and down as if judging the man's worth.

The clouds start unleashing their contents, pelting the Earth with water from overhead. Several stones sitting in the yard start to glow a dim blue that starts to get bright and bright until their Nordic glyphs glow almost white as the magical energies start to intensify greatly. Elias produces a book that he happens to have upon him, which its cover is frost. Holding it up the pages flip open on their own accord as he declares, "If you do not wish to bargain, it is going to be banishment. You have entered my wards, it was your mistake." Sparks jump between the stones, making it clear that indeed, there are heavy wards upon this island of Elias and Juniper's. Perhaps this is why the rumors say that he is the most powerful Arcanist in town, Elias raises his hands skyward, and the air around them grows dense, humming with electric charge. Dark clouds spiral overhead as the temperature plunges, frost begins to creep along the ground, crystals forming in an expanding ring around the stormcaller. A sharp crack sounds as a bolt of lightning splits the sky, its light reflecting in their gray-blue gaze and casting an eerie glow over recently brought forth demon upon Earth. In a surge of power, the Elias channels this energy downward, sending forks of lightning crashing into demon.

The jovial look on the demon's face as it bargains with Juniper disappears as Elias starts to get more serious, speaking about words like 'wards' and 'banishment'. He snorts as the weather gets cooler, "Insolent foot boy. Await your turn. Your mistress is bargaining with me. Who would want to stay on this frozen wasteland of a world anyways?" There's clear disdain in those grey eyes as the demon thinks of the nice toasty warmth of hell that he had been summoned from. When the lightning from the sky starts to fork down, the demon ducks into the shelter of Elias's house, letting the lighting hit with a dull boom and covering the two outside in a spray of dirt from the ground that is going to need aloooot more fixing now thanks to the most powerful Arcanist in town. Hopefully there's a ritual for flattening soil. The demon chortles softly as he looks at the crater right outside of Juniper and Elias's bedroom. "You've trained your foot stool pretty well." He remarks towards Juniper.

There might actually be a look of truly surprised almost amusement as the large golden phallus clonks to the frozen ground. Whatever the cultists had wanted, they may have reached a bit too deep to get it. The reason for the blonde's comfort in conversing with a demon out in the wooded bay might become clear now as Elias demonstrates his power and defends his pride. Juniper stands next to him, only breaking eye contact with the demon to shield her eyes from the lightning strike that hits so close the ozone can be smelled and the heat is enough to nearly singe eyebrows. "So is that what you would like?" she calls out in frustration as the demon evades, using the sanctuary of their home to do so. "Be sent back? I'll be clear. You'd be going back /without/ the demigod and without having touched him."

A growing grin crosses his face as he stands in the rain as ice starts to form on his clothing as he holds his hands out to his side, "It is okay, stay well within the circle. Hiding won't save you." Elias starts to take a few steps back out of the circle binding circle, not looking upon the pages of his tome, but seemingly more draw upon its powers, he starts chanting, pulling energies to him.

What circle...

"Are you sure? He looks like he would last at least 10 minutes." The demon bemoans towards Juniper at her words and there is another flap of his hand as he jumps through the window again, leaving some blood in their bedroom. "I'm usually summoned to turn metal to gold." There is a huff of air as the demon looks at the two of them, "So let me forefill the purpose with some good bargaining and then I'll be able to go back to hell where it's nice and warm. Unlike this place. One could freeze their tits off if one had tits in this place." He mutters as it looks at the foot stool that's starting to chant and do funny things.

"Spirits of the wind, hear my call. Spirits of the water, heed my requests. Spirits of the Frozen Tempest, I call upon your fury." The dark haired man chants as he kneels down, resting a hand on one of the rune stones that sits in his yard. Crackling energies surge around him and continues to jump between stone to stone. The stones start to develop a layer of ice on them as their blue streaks of bolts of cold electricity, Elias keeps his gray-blue eyes focused upon the minor demon with distain his gaze.

"It looks like you've already done your duty," Juniper continues as if what Elias is doing is common place to her, always keeping within step of him like a unit that has learned to move as one. "Pity what they chose to gild. There are so many more imaginative alternatives," she muses thoughtfully. Pulling her knife from her boot's sheath, she chucks it at the demon next. It's not exactly a kind throw, but it's not done with an intent to lodge that dagger in the demon either. "Why don't you turn that for me and the demi god and I will send you back on your way with as little frost bite as we can manage, huh?"

The poor innocent demon can only stare at Elias he starts to chant and the face of the demon grows less amused, "Maybe I was wrong and your foot stool is poorly trained." He mutters as the demigod continues to channel energy, his grey eyes darting to Juniper who he has clearly determined is the alpha of this two person pack. The eyes flick to Juniper's knife which is thrown towards him and he snorts softly as he twirls his fingers upwards. The blade floats up into his hand. "You need to offer something in return." He tells Juniper with an lifted eyebrow.

"Oh I thought I was," Juniper says with saccharine sweetness, putting a hand to her chest. "Having you go back home unmaimed, mostly," she elaborates with what seems like entire seriousness. "Unless of course, you've got any interests outside of the carnal kind. Since I'm not wont to share."

The dark haired man's closes his eyes as he is getting swept up with the flow of the storm over head and the ritual he is performing, he continues the chanting, but it becomes less spoken word and more an otherworldly version of a Gregorian chant, but darker. Elias still crouching, as ice forms on his clothing and continues to spiral out from around him as the yard is starting to turn into a miniature ice age, but Elias seems unbothered by any of it.

"How about... he quacks like a duck?" The demon's cold demenour seems ..slightly ruffled by the threats. He seems unsure wether or they can make do with their promises of Elias certainly seems rather menacing crouching there mumbling to himself. The demon didn't really know how this society worked after all. "Make him quack like a duck and I'll turn this blade into gold." The demon promises softly with a reassuring smile, holding the dagger with a finger on the tip and a finger on the hilt.

"I don't /make/ him do anything," Juniper tells the demon with a clipped tone. "Your obsession with him is understandable, demon, he is rather impressive despite what you try to suggest, isn't he?" There's a note of pride to her tone but it is overlaid with a bristling tone of one who is coming to the end of her patience. "I've got a piece of chocolate cake on the dining room table. Some say it's better than sex. Take it."

The wind picks up as Elias continues to chant, lightning arcing over head, jumping cloud to cloud which sends forth more rumbling thunder. He does not add anything to negotiations at this point as he just nears the end of this ritual.

The demon has lived through the ages. Been summoned over and over at different stages of mankind.. helped man win battles.. or lose them for gold is not a very effective weapon anyways. But chocolate? No one had ever offered chocolate to Haagenti, great president of hell, ruler of the 33 legions... The demon disappears for a moment to reappear, holding the chocolate cake in his hands. A tentative bite is taken. And then another. And Juniper's dagger is thrown to the ground as the demon eats the cake with enthusiasm, smearing chocolate all around his mouth. "This is great." He remarks as he disappears in a puff of smoke... leaving Elias and Juniper standing there in the middle of a winter storm before winter has even really hit yet. The dagger on the ground shimmers and the metallic blade turns into gold, glittering and bright as it reflects the lightning above. "I need more of this chocolate..." The demon's voice intones around them although wether it's gone off back to hell or in search of more chocolate.... is anyone's guess.

Above them lightning forks through the air, thunder rumbling as rain starts to pour down on poor Elias and Juniper's house with their beautiful bedroom which is now covered in safety glass, blood and god knows what else demon's trail behind them. The golden dildo on the ground next to Juniper's dagger glitters in the air, truely a impressive size and mayhaps have been destined for some grand ritual or another. Certainly not the current ritual in hand which Elias has almost finished but not quite.

"Chocolate is... a libido's best friend sometimes," Juniper says with a touch of amusement as the demon indulges in one of the few things that this world has to offer. She doesn't appear relieved as if a bluff had paid off - in fact, she seems quite confident that chocolate cake from her favourite bakery is by far a better trade than Elias quacking like anything. She casts a glance at the golden blade on the frosted ground, the golden phallus nearby and makes no move towards it. Her priorities lay somewhere else entirely it seems - compared to those red robed idiots that the pair would never know, somewhere down the beach from their bay. "You are rather beautiful," she tells Elias then in a teasing almost tone. "I can't say I wouldn't ask for the same if I were him."

Concluding his ritual, Elias pushes himself to his feet silently, pieces of ice shifting and flaking off his blazer as he stands. He closes shut the book, which seems to be unbothered by the extreme weather, except seems to thrive upon it as the book seems to absorb it. He tucks the book away as he looks upon Juniper, "Well, can't we just have a peaceful evening? And yes yes. I know, everyone wants a piece of the demigod, but I am yours exclusively. Besides, anyone that needs to carry a giant golden dildo around, probably has a tiny dick." He muses.

(Ooc): Thank you both!

Up above the clouds part as Elias stops casting his ritual and magic, slowly returning to the dreary weather that Haven always has... perhaps with a wild demon hunting after chocolate.

(Ooc): Would you guys like to be teleported anywhere?

"Hoooooly shit," comes the sound of a man from below. "Hoooooollly shiiiiit!"

It's past midnight, and Fayad is in his bedroom, likely not expecting any new company. And yet, it seems he has a visitor, far down on the forest floor. Excited yawps can be heard, accompanied by boots crashing through the forest floor. Soon, another voice follows, this one feminine. "Oh my gawd, Brad, what the fuck is this? Get back here! Noooo this is spoooky!"

Fayad groans. He rises to the hatch of his tower, unlocking it and poking his head up, looking down over the forest at the base of his tower.

By most standards, what Fayad holds below is a shockingly handsome blonde man, yet the pupils within his green eyes are wide as saucers, clearly high out of his mind. His chiselled face has a red flush to it, and a wide grin splits his high-boned cheeks ear to ear, full of pearly white teeth. "Brooooo, come see this," he calls out, staring up at the wizard's tower. "Geeen."

It doesn't seem like there is, in fact, a second bro. Instead, what follows is an athletic, fake-tanned woman with long brown hair and worried dark eyes, staring after him with a petulant pout. "Nooo, Braad, the lady said NOT to go into the outer forest. I don't like this ..." Both of them, if Fayad is wearing a nightmare charm, appear to have green auras.
