In a Foreboding, Glass-domed Master Bedroom
In this foreboding room, darkness reigns as a recurring theme. The walls, painted in sleek satin black on all sides, greedily absorb every ray of light, casting a dim glow over everything within. With its immense size, the room offers everything one might need for a restful night. A king-sized, four-poster bed dominates the southern wall, draped in dark gray shades and accented by crimson-tinted pillows, all highlighted by a silken deep-maroon coverlet.

Yet, amid the intention to shroud the room in darkness, there's a subtle luminescence emanating from carefully placed artificial lights. Bedside tables, flanking the giant, orgy-sized bed, boast black-shaded lamps that cast their brightness onto the black marble floors, where silver streaks within the stone glimmer. In the southwestern corner, a small sectional sofa faces a large-screen television, offering a cozy spot for relaxation.

The ceiling boasts a simulated skyline, affording a celestial view day or night, while allowing morning sunlight to gently kiss the bed, encouraging a peaceful awakening. Interrupted only by the glass dome's protective metal beams, the seamless light casts a delicate criss-cross of shadow across the room, blending into the dark backdrop of the of it.

It is before dawn, about 67F(19C) degrees, There is a waxing gibbous moon.

(A powerful artifact has been stolen from Haven's local museum. The artifact is rumored to have the ability to summon a demon when used in a specific ritual. Your target and their allies must race against time to retrieve the artifact from the unidentified thief before the town is overrun by demonic forces. This encounter involves investigation, tracking, and potentially a confrontation with the thief, who might be a supernatural entity themselves.)
The Haven Local Museum was not a place that locals actually frequented that often. Set in the dusty corner of the town, most of it's visitors were usually tourists or the occasional newcomer to town that was interested in some local culture. The front of the museum was set up to be boring. Dull weapons stood in glass cases from some battle so long ago. Suites of armour squeaky stood framing the doorways and walkways, threatening to topple down every now and then. A fine layer of dust covered the corners, a symptom of disuse. A new box of 'artifacts' had been delivered recently however. A lone boy, working overtime slowly set up a set of new weapons, rumoured to have been in the great 'battle of Mammon'. All sorts of weapons existed. Some half rusty. Some half restored. Although one particular weapon stood out amongst the rest. A single, jagged blade of black stone that looked like it contained liquid within. The kind of glass that was smokey and sooty, calling to one with dark whispers in their mind. Without even knowing it, the boy, young Daniel who worked at the museum part time with his studies, tucks it into his boots. The rest of the exhibition is left behind, box left open only half unpacked.

It is the morning manager to comes in to find this as the dawning sun crests over the horizon. There were swearing. Screams. All sort of name calling as well as mass firing on the security guards due to their incompetence. Then mass rehiring due to the manager realizing they would need people to research this. The manager was in a state of sheer panic that gradually spread to it's owner.

A very grumpy lady is dragged out of bed before she is ready. Or the dawn sun's even fully crested the horizon and angry calls are made to the police.

Konstantin. President of the Hand watching sopranos while on his lounge hears the crackle on the police scanner.

Hello this is 911, what's your emergency?

Uhhh yes.. this is Ms Adams of the Haven local Museum! We've been robbed! Robbed! Daniel from the college was unpacking our most recent display! The battle of Mammon that was shipped over from New jersey just yesterday! And now he's missing! And won't answer any calls! And the there's something missing from the exhibition list!

There is a crackle of static on the radio as the operator seems to be considering the importance of this report before a bored voice answers: Ma'am we're going to need a bit more information. What did the artifact look like?

The lady's voice returns to the call and she sounds semi hysterical. "It is... The dagger of Mammon! The center piece of the display! Don't you understand? If someone stabs themselves with it... they will summon Mammon! And all the four thousand doomed souls that were used to seal him in that great battle! Surely you're /aware/?

There is radio silence for a good dozen seconds as the static pops again.

"We'll send someone over miss. A detective will be with you when they can."

"Thank god!"

With that the police scanner falls back silent, leaving Konstantin on his couch, eating his snacks and plondering the meaning of life while he watches television. "

Konstantin grunts, disappointed. It's the episode where the cast of The Sopranos all get together and stage an intervention for Christopher, ultimately ending in a vicious beating and an coercive trip to a rehab facility nearby.

He reaches up, adjusting the volume of his earpiece down so he can hear the dialogue better. He continues to shovel salted mini pretzels into his mouth until the police line starts to talk about the knife, and the supernatural. He groans at length before reaching up to his ear, dialing the volume back up again.

Rolling his eyes a bit, Konstantin reaches for his phone, and starts googling the dagger. What's going on here? Where is it? Who has it? -what- is it? He checks the supernatural net primarily.

Deep in the recesses of the network 666 in the supersekret666subreddit Konstantin finds some reference to the dagger. 'Forged in the Great Battle of Mammon where templars and order allied in order to trap this great Demon that the Hand originally released in order to gain power. Mammon is a demon of wealth and greed, inspiring all those who he touches to have endless greed. Over four thousand souls had been entrapped by Mammon and were sealed into the dagger at the great battle. If he is released Mammon will likely make everyone on earth like Trump. Such tragic fate man." The comment ends there, with a few posts of 'rip', 'oh well' and a downvoted comment of 'Let him free!' as well.

There is another post from a few weeks ago as well about the artifact likely being transported to Haven. This was on a even more supersupersekret666 subreddit which talked about stealing the artifact for their own again. Still there were no concrete plans or anything. Just idle chatter about wondering if the golden shadow would attempt to add it to their collection.

Finally, a search of Daniel from college reveals there is only one Daniel enrolled. A Daniel Cliffrad who was studying marinebiology and working part time at the museum. He apparently lived in an apartment on main St as well as being part of the frat. "

Konstantin' curiosity is stirred a little. The claims are likely inflated but.. huh. May as well do is due dilligence and all that. Cursed daggers are a thing and allowing them to touch unaware hands might be a bad idea, even if this Daniel is aware due to the nature of his employment. What's to say it wont change handes?

"Blyat.. Okay..", Konstantin mutters as he opens lines of communication with his operatives. First, he finds this Daniel's phonenumber. He retrieves a laptop and begins running a trace in it himself while calling out to a couple of his associates.

Konstantin contacts a team of two Hand operatives, setting them to alert and telling them to station themselves in town near Main Street. His second call goes to his criminal network, through the enforcers that run his various rackets throughout the boston area. He enquires about any dealings related to the dagger
