Lepias Odd Encounter Sr Ritsuka 241103

During a seemingly idle day in Novel's cozy, architecturally appealing living room, Lepia's tranquility is shattered by an unexpected text message intended for an "Agent of the Sapphire Martyrs," instructing them to prepare for a terrorist attack in Boston. Recognizing the gravity and potential utility of the mistakenly sent message, Lepia swiftly gears up with her bow, spear, and muted equipment, venturing into the ominous Devilwood forest to investigate the meeting place indicated in the text. Her resolve to gather information on the potential attack signals the beginning of an unforeseen adventure, pushing the boundaries of her usual engagements.

As she approaches the specified location, Lepia encounters three vehicles parked near a dilapidated cabin, a common venue for secretive gatherings but now serving as a nefarious hub for the Sapphire Martyrs. Utilizing her stealth and the natural cover provided by the forest, Lepia spies on a short-haired man engaging with a van filled with explosives and weapons, marking the imminent preparation for the attack. In a daring move, she attempts to neutralize the man with her spear, aiming to prevent any signal for further assistance from him. Despite the partial protection offered by an unseen force referred to as "sanctuary," which prevents her from causing lethal harm, she manages to disarm and distract the man long enough to seize a pendant—a symbol of the Sapphire Martyrs—and retreat into the safety of the forest. Her quiet observations and the successful retrieval of the pendant offer a small yet significant insight into the Martyrs' plans and membership, setting the stage for further actions against their catastrophic objectives.

In a Homely Living Room
The tranquil living room has floor-to-ceiling walls lined in light-colored handmade terracotta Danish bricks, pale polished concrete floors and Douglas fir timber ceilings, and is furnished with a massive leather sectional couch pressed against the corner between the entrance and the kitchen door, allowing for the wrap-around view and luxurious comfort. A low white birch table providing a setting space before it.
The bare raw brick surrounding the fireplace across from the couch is mounted in the central south-western locale of the apartment which serves the dual function of additional heating and the lovely view of flames during the winter months.

A designer has chosen to clad the walls with black painted wood slats, and adding black floating shelves lining the other walls to provide space for a few carefully curated decorative objects. Layered rugs define the seating area and twin floor lamps add symmetry and ambient lighting. The rest of the decor is kept minimal to keep the focus on the architecture of the room.

It is noon, about 43F(6C) degrees, and there are a few wispy white clouds in the sky.

(Your target and their allies come across an abandoned house which, upon entering, they discover to be used as a meeting place for The Sapphire Martyrs. Inside, they find clues and cryptic documents hinting at a planned terrorist attack intended to cause massive casualties – a step towards their ultimate goal of world destruction. The characters must decipher these clues and act fast to prevent the imminent catastrophe, all the while dealing with the moral complexity of the Martyrs' cause and the chilling serenity of their acceptance of the imminent oblivion. Will they be able to stop the attack in time, or will they become part of the Martyrs' tragic sacrifice? The encounter provides a glimpse into the Martyrs' mindset, offering a haunting perspective on their twisted sense of love and duty.)
Lepia is engaging in her rather usual habit whenever she crashes at Novel's place: perching atop the backrest of the couch and watching TV. She stares at the screen vacantly, looking for some pattern in the flickers and glitches on screen.

Lepia echoes the chimes of the clocktower, repeating 'bong' each time the chime goes off.

Naturally, it is the middle of the day, and sometimes, some people get to be a little idle around this time while so many others are far too active at work. The weather has grown gruesome in the way that it is cold, snow will surely arrive later this year, a month or two down. The clocktower chimes and Lepia echoes along with the mid-day bonging. It is perhaps around then that Lepia's phone suddenly perks up, with a single text message:

Agent of the Sapphire Martyrs,

Set out to house in the forest, along Devilwood street, seven hundred feet out and to your right into the forest. We are ready and need to start gathering for the attack we've planned down to Boston.

Make sure no one is following you. Bring your equipment, I have the extra C4 ready.

Agent Desperado

Most definitely the wrong number that this went to, but the origin number states: 657-65-43

Regardless of it being the wrong number or not, this was something terribly useful. Lepia stares at her phone for a long moment, giving a low hum, before being broken from her thoughts, standing up and sticking her phone in her bag. Even if she might not be entirely confident with her ability to fight, she could at least get an eye on the situation, especially if it's in the forest. She gets together some of her more muted equipment, along with her bow and spear, and starts to depart towards the woods, and towards that address.

... Regardless of the situation, however, Lepia is almost certain to take the quiet route.

The way is out into the forest, devilwood, well, everyone knows it is in a not so great part of town, some people look through, there is some shady armed people robbing someone, but all of it ends once the forest starts. It is a little way out, technically, not very far still, and when Lepia comes close to the spot out of town indicated on the message, she observes about three vehicles being parked at the side of the street.

None of the seats appear to be occupied by anyone, one of them is a dark blue metallic van, a mercedes sprinter. The other two are cars, a Ford Ranger and an old and shabby looking, white car with windows that are tinted dark for the back-seats. There is also no person that is standing immediately around them, just three parked vehicles.

Lepia observes the location, indecision in her stance. She looks for any good cover, such as a tree or a tangle of bushes nearby the location to spy on them, and keep out of sight herself. Her eyes stare unblinkingly towards the gathering, looking for anyone of interest, or any movement of note.

There is the three vehicles, and besides it, the forest. Lepia can see that a group of people has recently made their way to the right, northwards into the forest and besides for the sparse buildings that pop by along the main streets around Haven occasionally, the forest always provides sufficient cover for hiding around both sides of the street.

It is then, too, that Lepia can notice a single person step out from the forest where the tracks of a group lead into. It is a man with short black hair and from his belt, hang a small pendant of with a tear shaped, blue gem. He moves towards the van, unlocks and opens it. Lepia can perhaps look into it by the angle she holds by chance, or take a few steps around. Within it, she can peer out a large amount of explosives and some weapons. The man himself reaches for one of the weapons, a handgun and loads it up with a magazine before holstering it under under the belt of his pants under his clothing.

Lepia slowly approaches the man at the sight of the weapons, as well as the strange pendant. After all, the pendant could be something very unique indeed. She keeps low in the underbrush, trying to slip through the falling leaves as quietly as she can. A considerable depth of experience in hiding might be enough for her to make it close to him on its own, but once she is close enough to him, she waves a finger, whispering something low, as a strange play of lights and a soft vibrating sound come from the other side of the SUV.

Making a 'huh', the man does glance around, for a moment, and then begins to trail around of the van, but not before closing the van doors again. "Katja, are you being a goose again?" He calls out. His step is a longer one, and paced in a manner that makes him move around quickly and once there, he starts to glance around again, and sees no one. He does lower a hand to his side, and reaches around for his phone and raises it up to look at it.

Lepia begins moving in swifter as he is first entranced by the quick distraction, and then peering over to see what was on his phone. She raises the spear in one hand as she closes in, and goes to quickly stab at his throat from behind, to stop his voice from making any calls. Then she raises her spear to stab into the man's hand on the phone, to hopefully stop anything, even garbled, from getting sent out.

Then she raises her spear to stab into the man's hand on the phone, to hopefully stop anything, even garbled, from getting sent out.

Lepia would like to stab the man, but she finds herself blocked by sanctuary, and instead, the stabs turn a little too forward, the sharp end gliding past more into accidental and very unpleasant sideways rub to the man's neck and also the side of his head - and then a whack on the man's hand. His finger squashes under it, and the screen of the phone rips and shatters across before it falls to the ground. The man himself looks at first surprised, then furious when he turns to face Lepia, he tries to reach for his gun entirely on instinct as he then tries to hush away from the dangerous woman.

Lepia keeps her proximity close and tries to reach for the amulet with grasping fingers, using the speed of her reflexes and the distraction of what happened to, hopefully, make grasping for the amulet a bit easier. She has to make this fast, after all; whether or not she was successful, she begins to try to basically weave her way back into the trees.

Moving, the man seems to be concerned with anything else other than the tear-gemed amulet at this moment, and tries to get away, and Lepia is very quick, her hand reaches, grasps and pulls the pendant. Both are pulled, him towards her and she towards the, and then the chain untangles and breaks and falls apart in single iron clusters to the ground underneath. The man grabs his gun, points it at Lepia - and then nothing happens. Sanctuary protects Lepia just the same, not that he seemed to realize as he starts to curse while Lepia already has the little pendant in her hand.

The gem is tear-shaped and blue, likely a sapphire and small and little lines run through the little gem as if fractured.

Lepia grabs the pendant, shoves it into a pocket, and quickly departs, aiming to get back into the woodlands that surrounded the cabin. Even if it is a cold day, there are better chances and better ways to hide in the woods than there are hanging around at the scene of the crime. Into another pocket, her fingers delve, drawing out a few tangles of yarn stretching between her fingertips. "Mmmm..."

"Ain't got anything for you to rob, bitch!" The black haired man shouts after Lepia, but he does not follow. He huffs and scuffs and reaches down for his shattered phone on the ground. He is certainly left angry, but Lepia is already in the forest, and she unseen. There is no other voices that respond to the man's shout, no people that leave the shabby cabin that hides behind the slight separation of forest from the street. A passing bird lands on a branch and chirps, but beyond that and the leaves in a breeze, all returns to a quiet once more.

In this quiet, Lepia lives, becomes one with it. She takes out the pendant and peers at it closely, trying to see if it was anything she might possibly know about, or recognize.

Lepia immediately recognize it to be the symbol of the Sapphire Martyrs. They are a group known to firmly believe that nothing could be done to prevent the prophesied end and destruction of earth and that any other world connected to earth will also perish. Their primary objective is domination over earth to destroy it before the assumed prophesied end. Most people among it are hopeless, but believe into the truth of their objective. They believe themselves to the martyrs and consider what they do not out of hatred, but necessity. They tend to find beauty in the sacrifice they are willing to make.

... So a membership badge. How disappointing. Lepia peers back at them to ensure one last time that pursuit is not coming, or that more exciting things aren't emerging for her to make a pass at; either later with backup, or now with gumption.

A breeze carries along some of the last leaves, from branches that have grown skeletal in nature. Somewhere distant, there is a squirrel that peers out in Lepia's direction, but there is no distant noises, no steps, no rush, no figures that seem to be making their way into the forest to pursue her.

Lepia gives one final nod out into the vastness of the forest, and begins to circle back around; she'd have words about this with Novel, almost certainly. He's the type to crack a place like this wide open, compared to her rather crude attempts.

The cabin itself looks rather shabby. Windows that are covered up with wooden planks, under which the glass lies partly cracked. The roof has taken up a lot of moss at the edges and down below, around the base, the wood looks soaked and some rot must have started to settle in. A small chimney peers out up at the roof along one side of the wall. The front door itself looks to have once been sturdy, but the hinges have taken up a dark brownish color. A ladder stands against a wall reaching over the roof on another side, likely used for roof repairs once and a by now overgrown path is almost entirely covered up from the front leading towards a little bit of forest that separates between street and vehicle parking and the cabin.

Lepia just wanted to give that one last good look, before she nods, getting an idea of the area around the cabin. She then begins to return towards Haven, and towards other Disruptors.
