Liams Odd Encounter Sr Ritsuka 250129

Liam's morning, beginning in the serene comfort of his bedroom split between rest and hobbies, takes a sharp turn towards the ominous as he and Takeshi, a stranger wandering the snow-muted streets of the city, are simultaneously struck by a disturbing feeling. The day, already dim with the promise of a storm and the chill of an unforgiving winter, morphs into the backdrop for something far more sinister. Liam, freshly awakened and still in the grips of an unsettling premonition, could not shake off the weight of dread that clung to him, a sentiment echoed in Takeshi's solemn pause under the snowfall. Takeshi's attempt to find solace in the simple beauty of a haiku he recites to himself barely masks the unease that both characters feel, a testament to the eeriness that has enveloped them both.

As the narrative unfolds, this sinister atmosphere is compounded by the physical manifestations of their dread: a slight tremor and a distant scream pierce through the normalcy of their morning routines. Despite being in different locations, Liam in his apartment and Takeshi out in the snowy streets, their experiences are eerily similar, suggesting a shared connection to the supernatural events unfolding at the edge of their senses. The implication of something malevolent at play, while not directly confronted by either character in these moments, sets a chilling stage for what's to come. Both men are left grappling with the reality of their situation, aware yet powerless in the face of an unseen and possibly supernatural threat, their unease a harbinger for the challenges they might soon face in seeking out and confronting the source of their dread.

In A Plushly Carpeted Bedroom
The plush carpet of the living room continues into this bedroom, every step a comfortable delight. This bedroom is split into two main halves, one for sleeping, and one for hobbies. Against the eastern wall presses a queen sized bed on a sturdy hardwood frame, framed by a pair of matching nightstands. Against the western corners lie a pair of desks, one holding a dedicated gaming rig, the other as of yet undecorated.

It is dawn, about -7F(-21C) degrees, and there are a few dark grey stormclouds in the sky.

(The Destined Host has recently acquired an ancient artifact believed to summon a powerful demon. However, the artifact is unstable and risks causing a catastrophic event. Your target and their allies must infiltrate the Destined Host's stronghold, navigate the maze of demonic traps and cultists, and neutralize the artifact before it can be activated. This would not only prevent a potential disaster but also impede the Host's plans, pushing back their timeline and buying more time for the forces of good.)
Liam had literally only just opened his eyes, laying in bed still. He peers at his phone, checking time, messages, etc.

Rays of the dawning sun stream their way into the bedroom, bring with it a warmth that is bare minimum with the extremely cold temperatures outside, and then, it only lasts for a moment before the dark and grey stormclouds outside cover it again. The snowfall has been relentless and one might almost be thinking that Haven finds itself in a sort of Russian winter. Liam had just awoken, but there is this sudden... feeling of something really really wrong going on. Not here, just something in the air, just something that is wrong. Weighted, heavy, but wrong. The feeling drives it up right along the spine and into sickness that infests the stomach and it does not abide.

Outside, through the snow that's turned part mud in the city itself, Takeshi makes his way along to wherever he is going. That overwhelming feeling settles over him, too. Something sinister, something horrendous, it is nearby. Somewhere nearby, but not here.

Takeshi walks through the streets, his hands tucked into his trouser pockets as he tries to pretend he's immune to the cold. He pauses for a moment to glance up at the sky and the heavy layers of snowflakes falling down to the ground all around him. He puts on a somber expression as he looks into the sky

"Snowfall shrouds the earth,"
"Silence presses, cold and deep"
"The sky holds its breath."

He recites a haiku to himself before nodding self pleased, staying a moment longer to watch the sky as the snow fell.

Liam grunts, the instinctual, visceral distaste shaking him out of the last of his sleepiness. He slips out of bed to dress, throwing on whatever is nearby, comfortable, and quick. The mans eyes scan the room, then peer through the window, finding nothing that can satisfiy his desire to find that which strikes him with such a sensation of dissonancr.

The air grows still, and the heavy continues on to linger - but even searching for the immediate source, neither Liam nor Takeshi can see it, but they both know it is there. Remembering on their knowledge of the occult, neither knows the precise cause, but the base knowledge does allow for both of them to know, and realize, that something supernatural is going on. It is not here, in this place where they are at, not inside Liam's apartment, nor outside where Takeshi happens to recite a Haiku. It is elsewhere.

The ground slightly vibrates and shakes, and then, a scream- To Liam, it must be from an apartment or home nearby, for Takeshi, it is definitely even more muffled, but it must be from one of the buildings he is passing by.
