Loralias Odd Encounter Sr Alan 250421

One fateful night at a lodge bar brought Loralia and Daichi into a tense encounter with a young woman named Amelia, who was eagerly waiting for her mysterious boyfriend, Jack. Amelia, seemingly lost and cold, dressed inappropriately for the weather, revealed through her disjointed conversation that she was waiting on instruction from Jack. Loralia and Daichi, quickly assessing her out-of-place and vulnerable demeanor, offered their kindness, which Amelia accepted with an air of desperate hope. The situation became more complex with the revelation that Amelia was under the thrall of a vampire, making this not just a matter of being out late but a dangerous entanglement involving supernatural forces. As the bar announced closing time, Loralia cleverly negotiated extra time for Amelia to stay, deepening their involvement in her precarious situation.

The climactic arrival of Jack, clad in the attire of a quintessential late-night rider, confirmed the supernatural suspicion as his leering demeanor and aggression towards Daichi underscored the gravity of Amelia's plight. Despite Jack's provocations and an empty threat with a disappearing weapon, peace was enforced by the mysterious protective magic of the lodge, preventing any violence. Amelia, momentarily swayed by Jack's coercive persuasion, found the strength to resist with Daichi's intervention - a pivotal moment that reinforced the realities of danger and liberation present in the encounter. The night concluded with Loralia offering Amelia a safe haven, albeit with intentions still veiled in ambiguity, leaving a feeling of unresolved tension in the air. The departure of Jack and the resolution to Amelia's immediate crisis left behind a palpable blend of relief and foreboding, marking the close of a night that would likely herald significant consequences for all involved.

At the bar
This well lit area is home to a long, polished bar that stretches from
west to east along the centermost portion of the northern wall. A number of
refrigerators and shelves within have been filled with various drinks and
town memorabilia for display, but the large head of a black bear mounted
higher on the wall attracts more attention. Food for the bar is prepared on
a cast iron cooking surface behind the bar, but well within sight of
patrons. It's so large that several different meals can all be cooked at
the same time.

Starting to the side of the Lodge's entrance to the north, several booths
follow the old hardwood walls and wrap around the pool tables to the east.
Their sequence is only interrupted there by the exit to the courtyard in the
distance.

A small HD flatscreen television hangs in the southwestern corner, open to
sight for all of those at the bar.

It is night, about 45F(7C) degrees, and the sky is covered by dark grey stormclouds. There is a last quarter moon.

(Your target and their allies encounter the former thrall of a vampire who's become accidentally separated from their master. Likely mind controlled into complete devotion the thrall wants nothing more than to return. It is up to the characters to either help them do so, or prevent them from doing so.
)
Loralia is seated at the bar alongside Daichi, the woman idly working through a drink that does not have as much alcohol as she would like. Despite her easy going manner, her eyes ocasionally keep flitting to the exits, and over the other patrons of the lodge.

sitting next to the young woman at the bar of the lodge, Daichi has just finished his coffee and is in the middle of offering Loralia a chance to get some combat basics in, when he pauses and follows her gaze towards the exits

As the night wears on to the early hours of the morning, the crowd within the bar grows sparser and sparser. It's down to just three customers; Daichi, Loralia, and a young woman sitting quietly at one of the tables.

She looks too young to be at a bar, too young to be out so late at night. Perhaps a senior in high school, she sits staring at her phone with a quiet intensity. She looks up at the door with an eager expression as one of the bar workers leaves with a load of garbage for the dumpster out back, looking crestfallen as she realizes that no one is coming in.

Eventually she stands, moving towards the bar not to get a drink, but to get a better view of the bar. She shivers a bit. The spring night is one of the cooler ones, and she's not dressed for it. No coat, a short skirt and tight top, long blond hair wispy as a paleness in her skin seems to give her an unhealthy look; like she might normally be tan. "Hey." she says, acknowledging the two others before quickly turning her attention to the door. The barkeep hasn't been out yet to tell her she's too young to be at the bar.

"Heyy." Loralia smiles over to the other blonde, the easy expression masking the quick assessment of her appearance and the manner she carries herself. Loralia does not particularly care about her being underage. "Long night?"

"Hello." Daichi says in a casual tone, though his eyes assess everything about the girl, from the crown of her head to the tips of the shoes she is wearing. the assessment done in a single glance. "IT is getting quite late isn't it?" he asks his tone still casual.

Loralia looks over to Daichi, her eyebrows shooting up. "Ya know, that lines usually proceeds an offer." she teases, before returning to the blonde.

A little smile touches the blonde's red` lips and she gives a wan little nod to Loralia, her gaze drifting back to the door, blue eyes lighting up as it opens...

The employee that had been emptying the trash returns. Her face falls, but she turns back to Loralia "Yeah. Really long. It's cold, it was so much warmer this afternoon." she says softly, reaching about herself and holding herself tight.

"How... How much longer until they close do you think?" she asks with a glance to Daichi.

The girl where's a tight white top with a Florida label, and her little skirt is far too short for the weather. Given the relatively natural tan, something evident at the edge of her hem, she's a long way from home. No one here has a tan like that naturally. She bites her lip and smiles over to Loralia "Oh... Yeah." she looks to Daichi hopefully; or perhaps more accurately, his jacket.

"Lookin' for someone?" Loralia asks of the girl, that easy smile remaining as she picks up on the out of local tan, and if, the girl happens to have a green aura surround her. "I'm Lora, by the way. What bout ya?" as she talks, she rummages in her purse, unfortunately not finding anything that vaguely qualifies as a jacket. "Ya look like yur new round here, yeah?"

removing his jacket in folding it in one swift motion, Daichi extends it with one hand to the blond, his eyes never staying still in one spot for more than a second, but not missing a single thing even as they flit around. "Not exactly sure how long this establishent will remain open, but you can ask the cook." Daichi says indicating the man at the counter.

nods softly to Loralia, the green of her aura evident along with, if such things can be spotted, a deep red. The christmas colors of one from out of town, and not yet under its protections. Brand new. "I'm Amelia. You can call me Amy." she says, shivering again, her lips ever so slightly blue.

She looks up, smiling eagerly to Daichi as she accepts the coat, pulling it tight to her body "Oh thank you so much sir!" she says. She bites her lip and looks past the serving counter to the people working beyond "I don't want to do that. I want to stay here, and they'll make me sit back down over there." she comments softly.

"Closin' in 10" comes a call from behind that serving counter. "Finish up."

The girl's eyes go wide for a moment. "I can't... I can't leave though." she tells no one in particular, blue eyes skirting around the place. "I'm sorry. I need to.. hide. He's coming to pick me up, and I need to be here." she says emphatically.

Daichi Does not blink at the 10-minute warning, and as the young woman's words start to come faster in her agitation he says in a calm measured tone, "If you wish to stay, you will need a reason for it. Hiding is not much good if you have no where to go, and if you do not have any way to communicate with who ever is picking you up."

The blonde girl nods quickly to Daichi "Oh, a reason to stay? What could I say to them?" she asks furtively with a glance to the cook. For the time being he ignores the group at the bar, washing dishes casually. "I could say... I could say I'm sick? No, but then they would call an ambulance." she looks to Daichi pleadingly "I have to stay until he comes back. My boyfriend said to meet him here."

With those words, she suddenly retreats into herself, into the warm recesses of that coat. "He said to stay here and wait. I need to stay here and wait." she murmurs dazedly, begining to sway a bit in her seat, the goosebumps of those bare legs forgotten.

"Oooo, I think I can help with that, Hon." that smile remains, easy, warm, as Loralia's hand finds the blonde's arm, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Whose gonna be around to pick ya up? can ya tell us anythin' bout them?" she holds the other blonde's gaze, her eyes feintly flickering a deeper blue. Nothing to worry here, you can trust the harmless angelborn.

Daichi allows Loralia to lead the conversation, and he murmurs quietly, "If you can tell who is coming to pick you up, I can keep a look out, while you order some food, and eat it, but slowly. That way, you are giving the establishment business, and they wont have any reason to push you out, not untill they finish up all their cleaning and other duties." "Loralia here can also help you from finishing your food too early, by distracting you. " he adds glancing sideways at Loralia

Amelie looks up as someone touches her arm. It isn't hard to catch her gaze, she already seems out of it. "Jack, my boyfriend. We're travelling up from Florida where I was living with my..." she pauses, tilting her head to the side and seeming to decide to say no more on the matter. She smiles apologetically to Loralia, then in a soft besearching tone "I don't like to talk about Jack when he's not here." she says a bit distantly. "But you can talk with him when he arrives. He'd like you." she says, her eyes falling briefly to Loralia's blonde hair, then looking to Daichi. "Thank you, thank you for the jacket. I was so cold. They don't turn the heat up in here, and it's been since..." she glances at her phone with a frown "Oh. I've been here all day." she looks up to the door again "But he's bound to come now..." she drifts off with her words, gaze caught by Loralia, gazing into her eyes, caught momentarily with her attention distracted.

"Yeah, order some food." she murmurs, not breaking Loralia's gaze as she starts to reach for her pruse.

"All right, last call!" Comes a cry from the kitchen. Dishes have been done, and apparently time is up.

"Lemme handle that." Loralia says, giving one last squeeze to Amy's arm, before she disappears behind the bar,. there are a few whispered exchanges with the employee behind the bar, and a discreet exchange of bills.

Daichi continues to watch the exit as well as the booths while he listens to Loralia's exchange with the employee. "Do you have a back up plan in case your boyfriend does not get here before this closes? Do you have any way of reaching him, if you have to move?"

The cook smiles a bit to Loralia and a little nod of acquiesence "I'm goin' home in an hour after cleanup. She can stay until then. And, thanks for the tip ma'am." comes the murmured conversation.

An hour has been bought and paid for and Amelie smiles gratefully, turning to Daichi who remains behind "Thank you. I didn't know what I would have done. I won't need a backup plan. I'll just stay here. They'll let me stay if I order food, you said." she says with a dreamy, half-there smile.

Time passes. The door is locked but the three remains; waiting.

The sound of a loud Vroom! can be heard shattering the still of the knight. Someone is here on a motorcycle designed to let everyone know at all hours of day or night, that someone is riding a motorcycle nearby.

And then in bursts Jack, or one would presume. A man at least ten years older than Ameli` in a roughshod leather jacket, pale as can be with sunglasses in the middle of the night.

"Oy, we're closed!" comes a call from the back.

"Shove it mate, not to me yer not." comes the respond, but Jack immediately forgets the cook as he spots Daichi, Loralia, and Amelie, a big shit-eating grin forming, showing those pearly whites. "Well Amy, doll. Looks like you got yourself a possee. You blokes lookin' for a place to stay tonight? Cause I could give you /both/ a ride." he says with a lecherous look to Daichi and Loralia.

"Hello Jack." Amelie says with a dazed smile, moving to stand. Gently she removes Daichi's jacket and returns it to him. "Thank you for helping me." she says softly. "I... Need to go with my boyfriend." she says, almost as if in a play about a girl in love.

Loralia returns to her seat with a flash of a grin to the cook, her lips twitching up in a wry smile as Jack makes his rather dramatic entrance. That once over is returned over the possible supernatural, the blonde shaking her head with a waggle of her eyebrows. "Na, s'fine. we wouldn' wanna interrupt a date night, Y see."

Jack gives a little snort at Loralia's response, turning his attention to Daichi "C'mon mate, the ol' bloodsack's a little low for my tastes, and you'd be doing both of us a big favor coming along for the ride." he says with a waggle of his brow to Daichi. "Ditch this gal and come along with us; You won't regret it, and I'll even give yah a run at the dame, eh?"

Amelie frowns a bit at Jack's words, but manages to form a smile on those pale red lips, looking to Daichi with a hopeful smile.

Daichi glances at Jack, his gaze demonstrating just how unimpressed he is at both the entrance and the man in question. "Two corrections friend. One, I do not dishonour girls by taking them on a ride as you say not unless there is some relationship there. Second, I am ont inclined to join some punk on a motorcycle just because he asks. Now, I would suggest you treat this lady with kindness, seing as she has been waiting for you for a while and take her home." Turning to Amelie he continues, his tone slightly softer, "If you want, you can keep my jacket. The night would have turned chillier."

Amelie smiles and nods to Daichi "Thank you." she begins to say before Jack snarls "You cocky lil' shit, mouthin' off to me? You know who I am?"

He reaches into his jacket, not being all that subtle about it. "Yah know what, you're so generous. Thanks for the jacket, pal." he says, reaching over to snatch the jacket away from Amelie. "C'mon gal, we're going."

"Can, can I text my mom to let her know I'm okay? I waited like you said."

"Later babe." he grunts, now wearing two jackets, his back turned to someone and Daichi.

"Later babe." he grunts, now wearing two jackets, his back turned to Loralia and Daichi.

Daichi speaks his tone now colder but still calm. "Do you know who I am, punk?" "If you know what's good for you, return that jacket to that lady and stay right where you are."

Loralia for her part does not react. numbed as she is to the casual display, and the ongoing pissing contest, the bottom line is, that she has nothing to gain from interfearing. "yur at the lodge." she wryly mentions. "Ya both wanna throw down here?"

Jack also has that green aura. The lodge doesn't mean anything to him, and nor does Loralia's words of warning. He's fuckin' Jack Thompson, which probably means something somewhere. Apparently he thinks it means something here. He whirls to face Daichi, snarling "Yah gonna make me sucker?" This time his teeth elongate in his snarl.

For their part, the cook has dissapeared.

Loralia just watches the conflict, the blonde idly nursing her hear too abandonned drink. As the rumors go, violence is impossible within the building's premises, and a vampire who does not bother to learn before flying off the handle, well, at that point he is signing his own death vorent.

Amelie blinks a bit, chilled again as the jacket is claimed, she frowns and pulls out her phone as Jack is distracted. It looks to Loralia like she might be trying to text someone, but her fingers fumble over the screen and she freezes. Head tilting, a dreamy look overtakes her and she slips the phone away and watches Jack and Daichi placidly.

Daichi rises in one smooth swift motion, his gaze still calm but intense as the mar points of entray, exit, and points to take cover, all while noting Loralia's position and that of the blond woman and Jack. "Trust me kid," Daichi murmurs his voice now amused at the attempted force of the other man, "If you were someone worth noting, I would know. Since I clearly don't know Jack shit." He emphasises "Jack shit" "You are no one." Even as he speaks, his hand lowers to his side, the grip of his pistol in his fingers but not yet drawn. "I am repeating once again, take the lady and get lost. and treat her better."

Loralia subtly shifts a glance over to amelie, if the rumors turn out to be true, and the lodge does restrict violence, the human there is an oppertunity.

Jack reaches for something in his jacket, but... There's nothing there. A holster empty, along with Daichi's pistol. Neither weapon appears where it should be. As if they've both disappeared. The vampire snarls with frustration, but while Daichi's pistol might have disappeared, his resolve is noted by the create. He turns to the girl "C'mon, let's get lost." he says to her "These chumps aint worth it." As if he could make any other decision here.

Amelie blinks up at Jack "I... I want to go home. I don't want to do this anymore, Jack. I'm... I'm going to stay here. Mom will pick me up, just leave. You said you're done with me, that I don't..." she leans closer "taste good anymore." she whispers.

Jack laughs, looking into her eyes "C'mon babe, you'll come with me. You can't be without me."

As he gazes into her eyes her look starts to soften "I... want..." she starts to murmur.

Daichi moves in between the vampire and the blond, breaking the eye-contact. "You heard her, punk. Get lost." "She aint your ticket for a free meal." Even as he says this, Daichi slips into a low guarded stance, his posture and gaze indicating both threat and preparedness for an attack.

Loralia still remains seated upon the bar, lips twitching up into a wry smile. As far as she is concerned, either Daichi, or Jack will leave, or be a corpse. in the case it were jack, she would still have a chance with Amelie.

Amelie blinks as if coming out of a dream, shaking her head. As Daichi stands between them she seems to come to "No." she yells at Jack. moving behind Daichi fully, quivering.

Jack` starts to lunge for Daichi, but finds his attack arrested by... Something. Thinking better of it he steps down, moving to walk around Daichi for the exit "Yah know what, keep the fuckin' girl. I got yer jacket, shithead." he growls.

Unmolested, the man will leave; the magic about the lodge that protects him dissipating as he heads into the parking lot none the wiser.

Amelie for her part is breathing heavily, pulling out her phone "I uh, thank you." she says softly breathing a sigh of relief, perhaps unaware that there are predators everywhere in this town.

shruging casually Daichi gently guides the blond back to a seat as he comments, "Please sit down, and relax." He does not even seem to mind the loss of the jacket, as he guids the blond to a seat next to Loralia

Loralia smiles over to Amelie. "Welcome to haven, Hon." that hand, oh so gently returns to her arm, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Ya got a place to stay for tonight?"

Amelie chews on her lip, the blond's bare legs and arms covered in goosebumps from the chill as she sits down. With Jack gone, the cook appears again and gives Loralia a quiet look like 'how long I gotta stay here'?

Amelie shakes her had in response to Loralia's words "I don't. I can, I can probably stay here though right?" she asks, looking deeper into the lodge, then back to Loralia, blue eyes large and questioning.

"I don't think they will allow you to stay here." Daichi comments, "But if Loralia does not have a place she can put you up at right now, I have a home and can let you sleep in one of the rooms."

smiles over to the cook, before a discreet glance is directed to Amelie. "I got her." are the words mouthed, before that warm smile is turned to Amelie. "I got an extra couch at my apartment, hon. I can course put ya up for the night." the offer is simply made, without her eyes flickering. given Amelie's situation, if Loralia's intentions were less than steller, the extra work of hypnotism would be a waste.

Amelie smiles gratefully to Daichi first, then Loralia as she moves to stand "Thank you so much. I don't know why I followed him. I was supposed to graduate this month, but..." she shakes her head with a bewildered look, her legs squeezing together a moment as a pale hand moves to rub the side of her neck. She lifts her gaze to Loralia and nods softly "A couch, yeah, until my mom picks me up. Thank you. I promise, I'll like do chores or something. It'll just be a little bit okay?" she looks back to Daichi "Thank you so much, sir."

Daichi smiles faintly and says, "Not a problem. You two enjoy the night." "If you need anything", he adds to Amelie, "Loralia has my number, and you can get in touch me at that at any time of day."

Amelia nods quickly to Daichi "I'll buy you a new jacket, I promise." she says, moving to follow Loralia "Can I text my mom your address?" she asks.

laughs, standing herself as she slips an arm around Amelie. "It happens. Just blame a pre graduation bender, kay." a smile, warm, friendly, as her eyes flicker the feintest blue, Loralia not forcing her own hooks in, not yet. but tugging on those already present to make the other blonde just a bit more suggestable. "I always wanted a roomate, ya know?"

"Don't worry about the jacket." Daichi calls as the two start to leave, "I have others.."

Amelie blinks a bit "No, I need to... go... Uhm, maybe. I mean I don't have to text her like tonight huh." she murmurs quietly as she follows Loralia out.

Daichi watches the two exit, following after them and sighs quietly, but does not interween.

"Don't worry about that just yet, Kay?" Loralia murmurs to Amelie. "it's already late enough, and Florida, ya said? It's gonna take yur mom a while to get here. And you've been through enough shit. Take a rest, and we'd see bout that in the morning, yeah?" with that, the 2 depart the premises.
