Vincents Odd Encounter Sr Alexander 240504
In the quaint, mystical ambiance of the Black Rose Cafe, Vincent Greyson stumbled upon an urgent, whispered conversation a student named Matthew was having on the phone. Piqued by curiosity and an odd sense of duty, Vincent approached Matthew after noticing the boy's frantic demeanor and cryptic talk of danger over the phone. The exchange between them quickly shifted from mundane academic concerns to the revelation of a looming crisis: Matthew's friend had unwittingly discovered incontrovertible proof of the supernatural world, a revelation that threatened to shatter the veil of secrecy maintained by its inhabitants. Sharing a common understanding of the undisclosed world, Vincent found himself reluctantly recruited into a mission of containment—a task that would lead him deep into the heart of Haven’s hidden realities.
Venturing into Matthew's friend's apartment, the duo was faced with the daunting task of convincing Jason, a photography student with irrefutable evidence of the supernatural, to forgo his discovery for his own safety. With Matthew attempting to sway Jason with reason and Vincent stealthily erasing the digital proof from existence, the night was charged with tension and desperation. As they engaged in a delicate dance of persuasion and subterfuge, Vincent's decision to discreetly delete the damning evidence might have spared Jason the dire consequences meted out by the unseen custodians of the supernatural veil. Nevertheless, as the evening waned into the early hours, with the air thick with the scent of beer and the warmth of newfound camaraderie, Vincent, Matthew, and Jason navigated the complexities of their secret world. Despite the precarious balance they maintained, the trio emerged unscathed, their bonds strengthened and their secrets still cloaked in the shadows, with Vincent leaving a lasting impression and an unspoken debt in the hearts of his unexpected companions.

In Black Rose Cafe
Large columns support the high ceiling which has
a large stained glass roof that, in the day time
at least, dapples the small cafe below in shades
of rosy reds, greens and dark gray shadows. Each
of the black painted columns are ornamented with
leafy vines that wind their way around them. The
walls are covered from ceiling down with crimson
lake hued wallpaper, embossed in a subtle raised
pattern of more of the blooms that lend the shop
its name. From roughly head height the wallpaper
gives way to darkly stained wood panelling which
then gives way to similar dark hard wood floors.
In the center of the room is a circular counter,
inside of which serves as the hub for the little
cafe that offers patrons a place to sit and read
while snacking or sipping on some coffee or tea.
It is afternoon, about 75F(23C) degrees, and the sky is covered by wispy white clouds.

Late evening, it's a quiet day in Haven. A lot of days in Haven, at least, seem quiet and perhaps Vincent has had his fill of trouble for a time. So he's found himself tonight ejoy the ambiance of the Black Rose. Located beside the Campus it's a frequent of a certain kind of student. Those aware, of which most the student body, but who enjoy the quiet comfort of a non-chain starbucksian coffee house.
Admist the chatter and talk, Vincent notices one student fervently flipping through their notes, talking hurriedly on the phone in a hushed urgent tone.
Looking down at his cup of tea Vincent sighs sadly as he takes note of the fact that he has ran out, truly a sorrowful happening. Before then looking towards the said other student raising an eyebrow at the students hurried and hushed talking. "Is their a test happening soon?" He asks not to the student but to himself as he stands up from his stool to wander over to wherever said student is seated.
The patron count is starting to wind down. In to an evening crowd. Students wrapping up the end of their school days. The bottom of his tea forms a little design but it means nothing to him. To his recollection, he
He's done everything he needed to for the day, but perhaps the student has a wrap up exam? Would certainly explain the fervor. Still, who really knows.
Taking an interest, Vincent strolls over to the man roughly his own age, and catches, "...You can't....they'll....you could....kill..." The student is in the corner, a bar seating nearby where some students do solo studying. Seems like the student is quite worried for whoever is on the other line.
"Hi, named Vincent is something the matter.. is their a exam happening at the collage soon?" He asks, seemly taking the flipping through their notes, talking hurriedly on the phone for such.. but upon hearing the words he could pick up from said student on phone an eyebrow gets raised as he goes to take a seat near them. "What?" Vincent puts so /none elegantly/ upon hearing such words.
The kid flinches, nearly leaping out of his seat when Vincent speaks. What he sees in the paper is neutral stuff, non-commital. Notes on Math, and Latin, whatever. He's likely figuring out the start of his new term. But he hesitates on the phone some and lowers it a little. "I'll call you back, don't do anything stupid," he insists, then stares at Vincent a moment, studying him.
Seemly finding himself butting into someone privates affairs, Vincent seemly decides a introduction is in order as he extends a hand giving a soft smile as he runs his other hand though his hair, to move a few blonde strands from out of his face. "Vincent, Vincent Greyson so you go to the college as well?" Vincent asks, his smile straining a bit from a the awkwardness it seems.
He takes Vincent's hand and gives it a gentle shake. "Matthew, uh, my friend he's um," He sighs some. "Unaware," he explains. "You're aware?" he asks, hopeful.
Opening his mouth slightly to speak Vincent closes it as he looks at Matthew seemly thinking about what he is going to say. "Aware.. yes.. are you?" He asks putting it so not at all elegantly. "I like.. twilight.. do you like twilight.. like it's.. so real of a movie?" He asks, lifting a hand to rub at the back of his neck, at the statement that allows him that, deniability, if awkwardly.
Matthew frowns a bit and leans back. "Yes, of course, can't really ask that question if you aren't. My friend though," He frowns. "Got proof, he thinks it's a big discovery, and if I can't convince him to cool it, he's gonna get in serious trouble," he explains. "...Can you help me out?" he asks Vincent
Vincent raises an eyebrow at being asked to participate in a cover up by a stranger, as he looks around the cafe before leaning in. "I mean.. I was told their are people for that.. or people who make sure stuff does not get out, couldn't you know they just.. what was I told once.. wipe his brain or something?" He says in a whisper, and a slight shrug.
The man frowns deeply. "Yes, and if I can convince him myself, then he won't have to go through that. It isn't a clean process, they pretend but they leave holes. Cause issues...it isn't safe." He ruffles his head. "I'd rather he just cool it before that happens. I'm gonna go see him, he's at his apartment."
Giving a less strained smile Vincent speaks. "How about you just talk to him.. and have him just.. show you this evidence and we can just make it go away.. without that he would be harmless no, their are a lot of people who say a lot of stuff on the internet without proof and.." Looks slightly away as he hums with seemly realization before looking back to speak to Matthew. "I would not be surprised if they did do nasty things to him, from what I know they do dreadful thing.. considering what most are." He says back while sighing. "Am going to regret this I feel.. but why not, it would be the gentlemanly thing to do." Vincent says agreeing.
Matthew pauses and then nods towards him and then hesitates a little. Perhaps he has to consider what he's doing here, and what he knows of Vincent. But he seems desperate, and worried and eager for a hand so he just nods towards Vincent. "Something like that," he offers.
"My hope is maybe I can...convince him that it's okay and normal? It's okay if he knows too, he just has to know not to stir up a fuss," Matthew explains. "But failing that...the evidence. Maybe...one of us could talk to him? The other could collect the evidence."
HE climbs to his feet. "You got a ride? It's not far."
Nods to be driven by a complete stranger in their car to an apartment complex. "Perhaps that is a better approach to start with." He agrees as he moves a hand to his chin. "Getting rid of whatever is the other." He adds on before taking a stand to follow Matthew. "I mean.. I was just told last night so.. you might need to handle that part where this is all.. normal." Vincent then adds on with a light chuckle.
The car is a cheap sedan, a few years old, bought new perhaps, gifted to the student when they headed off to school. Matthew leads Vincent along opens the door for him even. "Sheesh..." He frowns at Vincent explains that he just knew. "Maybe it's better to give the speech then? You know what it's like to have it lifted, I was uh, born into it," he explains. He drives off with him. "But, you can pick your path, I'm just happy to not do this alone."
Looks at the car sighing softly as he speaks to himself in a mummer. "At least it's faster then walking." He says before nodding at Matthew's words as he goes to get in the car, flashing the man a smile. "Thank you." He says as get settled in scanning around the interior of the car waiting, for the student to get in the drivers seat before speaking some more. "So this is really your normal.. still feels not normal.. I mean it has been only less then a day." Vincent hums back as he rubs his neck. "So.. anything to know about your friend, relevant to the situation?"
"He's a photography student, artist. Likes music, plays some. Kind of the fake student type you know? Here for family more than he cares about the education," he explains. "A good guy though, just...you know...ugh." He glances at his buzzing phone some. "I met him start of last term," he explains as they pull into the apartment parking lock.
"I see... I see very much." He responds back with a chuckle. "Here cause of family, I know all about that..." The blonde says with a groan as he rubs against the bridge of his noise with two fingers, as he nods along with Matthew's words. "So does he have a girlfriends or something, someone who can comfort him or something you know once we done talking with him?" Vincent then inquires as he goes to open the car door before stepping out, to follow along Matthew to the apartment. "That might help."
"Is that why you are here?" Matthew asks, and then he shakes his head. He slides out of the car slowly and shakes his head. "I don't know him that well, other friends maybe, ugh. I just gotta let him know I know too, you know?" He leads Vincent into the apartment, to the elevator, third floor. "It would be good," he admits. "But I just don't know who to refer him too that won't get him in worse trouble."
Nods his head. "Here with a plane ticket, a few sets of clothes, and a bank account number... Something-something lesson." Vincent grumbles aloud as he walks along into the building. "Unless you know that they know, he would likely say a lot them." The blonde acknowledges as he looks at the door then back at Matthew. "Maybe you should knock and greet him.. say we are friends or something.. he might be all paranoid about me.. considering you know, his state with this all going on about evidence and conspiracy, I bet."
"Yeah, not unlike quite a few of the normal folks who show up, and yeah I warned him," Matthew explains to Vincent. He moves to knock on the door, tucking his phone. "Hey Jason, it's Matt. I brought a friend, we're coming in okay?" He tries the door it's locked, and avoid on the other end peers through and, perhaps seeing a lack of suits, opens the door and steps in. "Yeah...jesus, it's crazy. I got photos and everything..."
Putting on his best winning smile Vincent nods at and greets the other student who is though the door, offer a hand. "Vin." He says as he looks to see the state of the man. "Oh, care to show me?" Vincent asks, sending the line like a hook with bait as softly smiles, as he glances at Matt before looking forward again.
Matthew nods to Vincent and Jason moves to lead them into the kitchen, where a laptop is set up. "Roommate is out of town right now," he notes perhaps pleased. "Have you told anybody?" Matthew asks, to which Jason shakes his head. He plays a video. A person turns into a werewolf and bounds away. The footage is unquestionably not doctored, it has a ring of authority. Matthew leads Jason away to hold a private conversation.
It's got some risk, but Vincent's boldness does him some credit, he deletes the files effortlessly. Ensuring to hunt backups. There's a chance...SD cards and the like the immediate risk is greatly lessened. The two are talking. Would Vincent have anything to add to the man struggling with this new world he's found himself in?
Vincent looks around insure their is not some USB or plugged in storage device on or near the computer where a backup could be in.
Vincent has dealt with the data issue about as good as he can at the present moment. Did he wish to offer any guidance to the kid?
After seemly being quite sure that their seems to none, Vincent would look down at the computer and then over to the two where their voices are coming from. "Well let's hope we can talk him down.. worse comes to worse, no proof." He mummers to himself as he makes his way over attempting to give a big friendly smile, perhaps a bit too hard. "So how is he taking it?" He asks matt.
Matt shrugs some gesturing, Jason frowns. "If people know...why don't...why doesn't this stuff make the news?" Matthew shrugs some, "Guess?" he offers. Then he looks to Vincent. "He just found out too uh...how do you make peace with it, Vincent?"
"I have made peace with it?" Vincent asks before then speaking again a bit faster. "Oh.. Yes.. I have well you see, as I was explained, very powerful people keep it that way, that will do what powerful always do to keep it in the dark.. so.. that's why am keeping my mouth shut." He answers frankly as he looks at Jason. "You really want you know.. that kind of attention?"
Jason frowns some. "Well...fuck...are you kidding me?" He exhales and Matt offers a sympathetic look. The night turns from there. Vincent has already done the deed. It's over really. If he sticks around he might make some friends. Jason ultimately decides to hold off, taking the threat seriously, and will soon join the ranks of mundane naturals aware of the truth of Haven, willing or otherwise. EIther way, security was maintained, and Venice owes Vincent a debt, whether or not they know it.
Vincent talks along with the two, attempting to better reassure Jason thought the the continued conversation some beers perhaps loosening the the posh British blonde up into someone a bit more of a socially adept state. Before he then leaves, never tell them he deleted the file, that might come back as a bit of a nasty surprise as he leaves the apartments.
