Yasmins Odd Encounter Sr Autumn

Yasmin, a member of the Hand organization, finds her sleepy morning disrupted by the eerie howling of a local werewolf pack stirred to violence by a corrupted alpha. Clad in her pajamas and encumbered by her duties, she contacts fellow operatives through her encrypted phone app and learns that the pack is wreaking havoc in town under a new alpha who follows the violent beliefs of Fenrir. Preparing herself for the confrontation, she dons her equipment, including a vest, bow, and knife, and sets out to the indicated location, intent on supporting the containment effort without causing unnecessary harm to the wolves.

Upon arrival, Yasmin teams up with Steve and Tony, two operatives equipped with riot shields and rifles. They assess the situation and prepare to confront the scarred alpha werewolf, who has gathered his pack for a rally. Using an ultrasound emitter to disperse the pack and expose the alpha, Yasmin takes a vantage point in a nearby tree. She uses her archery skills to incapacitate the alpha with silver-tipped arrows, targeting his limbs to neutralize the threat. With the alpha down, the other wolves scatter into the forest, and Yasmin suggests turning off the emitter to spare them further distress. The operatives secure the alpha as Yasmin, her duty fulfilled and her exhaustion taking hold, departs with the knowledge the wolf's fate lies with the organization's higher-ups. She drives home, her mind weighed by the night's events, ready to retreat back to rest.

In a Homely Living Room
The tranquil living room has floor-to-ceiling walls lined in light-colored handmade Danish bricks, pale polished concrete floors and Douglas fir timber ceilings, and is furnished with a monumental black leather sectional and low slung birch wooden table to keep the focus on the wrap-around views. The designer clad the walls flanking the fireplace in black painted wood slats, leaving one wall blank and adding black floating shelves to the other to provide space for a few carefully curated decorative objects. Layered rugs define the seating area, twin floor lamps add symmetry and ambient lighting, and the rest of the decor is kept minimal to keep the focus on the architecture of the room. The eastern wall has been painted a nice, even terracotta hue.

It is morning, about 39F(3C) degrees, and there are a few dark grey stormclouds in the sky.

(A local werewolf pack is becoming aggressive due to the influence of a powerful, corrupt alpha. The pack is causing havoc in Haven. The characters must find a way to depose the alpha and restore balance, either by force or by outsmarting him, without causing unnecessary harm to the rest of the pack.)
Yasmin is still in her pajamas at almost eleven in the morning - and surely she cannot be blamed for such, when she's curled up on her couch with not just one, but two whole cats cuddled up into the crook of her elbow, half her attention upon them and half on her phone while the TV plays on mute in the background, going ignored for the most part. She's been texting back and forth occasionally, but mostly she's just unwinding after a long night to let sleep find her in a couple of hours.

A quiet morning after the full moon and the two cats purr in content next to Yasmin. While the three enjoy the tranquility, the silence is suddenly broken by the howling of wolves at distance. The cats's ears perk up on the noise and they get on their paws and bounce out of the couch.

Yasmin lives in the Elm street apartment complex; there probably shouldn't be any wolves howling close enough to be heard all the way in here. There's a concerned furrowing of her brows at the noise, the woman straightening up in her seat and reaching over to console the poor kitties with a little shushing noise. A pack of wolves...? Or something more sinister? Either way, she's probably not going out there alone to check. She instead opens up the app displaying the symbol of a clenched fist in her phone, looking through the recent Supernatural news there is to be found. Something in there, perhaps?

Upon the app opening, on the front page on the screen of Yasmin's phone is alert with the warning sign. There is a group of wolves causing chaos in town, the text reads. Their leader is rumored to be a follower of Fenrir and has influenced a young pack to his belief of 'preventing the extinction of wolves by ridding the world of their enemies' after murdering their previous leader. He must be stopped.

Yasmin frowns down at her screen for a long moment; she's certainly not equipped to go out there against an entire /pack/ of wolves, if she's reading right. Where's the Temple when you need them, really? Instead of anything rash, she lifts her finger to her ear instead to speak across the Hand's comms, "Who do we have for the wolf situation? I can come help if it is needed." Never mind that that's not really her job either; she's not a Keeper, thank you very much. A pause, then, while she waits for someone to get back to her, she moves over to crack the door open and peer out into the hallway, just to make sure the howling wasn't /too/ close by, her foot placed strategically to stop either of the kittens from jumping out in case they get any ideas.

Those two kittens glance at the door, but the constant howling causes them to run from it and hide. Yasmin's comms emits a low beep and a low masculine voice speaks. "Steve here. Tony and I have been asked to assist you," he tells Yasmin. "All we have to do is lead them out of town deal with their leader. He has no Sanctuary so we can snuff him out and the pack will disperse. Try not to hurt the other wolves as it will make the task more difficult." On her phone, a text appears revealing the location of the pack: Main Street near the park.

Yasmin reaches up to run her fingers through her hair, letting out a mildly frustrated breath before she speaks, "Fine. I will be there, five minutes. Someone here better be a werewolf expert." She's certainly not. She needs the time to change, first of all, out of her pajamas, and then gather her equipment. Vest and bow go into her duffel bag that gets strapped over her shoulder - she keeps her knife upon her person most of the time anyway, and then she's out the door, locking it securely behind her.

The drive doesn't take long, with the woman speeding through the streets as fast as the speed limit will let her, and she's parking outside the park mere minutes later, looking for the other Hand operatives who are supposed to be here with her.

While there are detour barriers on the road around the park, waiting for Yasmin at the park are two men geared up in kevlar. One man is burly and muscled with a dark brown beard while the other is slim yet athlete looking with black curly hair. Both have black riot shields strapped to their backs while they stay out of the public eye. "Hey Yasmin," the burly man says with a huff. "Name's Steve and this guy here is Tony. The park has been cleared of unaware locals and the trailer park people and other residents have been advised to stay inside." At a far distance, there is movement along with howling and growling. "Don't worry, we will cover you whenever you need it," Tony says, his voice lighter in tone than Steve's.

Good, because Yasmin's gonna need it; she's certainly not up for wrestling any werewolves with her just shy of five feet height. She's strapped on her own kevlar after leaving the car though, and her amaranth composite bow is loosely held in the right hand after being strung. "Good morning," she returns the greeting, tone heavily implying that this is /not/ what she'd like to spend her own morning doing, and it doesn't take long for her to get down to business, eyes narrowing while she peers off into the treeline as though trying to spy the group of wolves from all the way over here. "What does the leader look like? Are there any Templars around?"

"Well there was one awake earlier and tried to deal with the pack leader alone," Steve answers, shrugging as he and Tony wield their riot shields and rifles. "But she got mauled and is in the hospital." They start walking with caution towards the source of the howls. Tony glances at Yasmin and says, "So their leader has a lot of scars. Like he has been through a lot of shit yet he is still alive after all that." As they closer, they start to see a glimpse of the pack, with most of the wolves with their heads up while some run around.

Mauled and sent to the hospital?! And someone still thought /Yasmin/ was the next best option to send out here? There's instant alarm on her face while she sneaks along with the other two men, footsteps quiet upon the park and no further questions incoming; she doesn't want to set anyone off by speaking too loudly and giving away her presence. Instead, she pulls out her phone to send out another text to the two men with her: 'Tell me one of you brought an ultrasound emitter so we don't get jumped by a pack. We can strike the alpha while they are off guard.'. Meanwhile, Yasmin pulls out a set of earplugs in case they /did/, in fact, remember to bring the ultrasound emitters in question - girl's gotta protect her own sensitive ears.

Phones buzzing in the two men's pockets, Tony sets aside his shield for a moment to check his phone before he looks at Yasmin and nods his head at her before she grabs his shield again. Once they get closer, the view of the pack becomes clear. Six wolves of various fur colors are doing their own thing before a howl, one harsh and rumbling than a normal one, causes them to stop and gather in a circle. And at the center of it is their leader, and Tony was right that it been through a lot. The alpha wolf is covered almost entirely in scars, with black fur with one ear missing half of it. He has only one yellow eye as the other is missing with a large scar on the area, and he growls and howls at the wolves around him like he's delivering a speech.@line
The men stop and Steve turns to put a finger to his lips, signaling silence while Tony gets out his bag and fishes out an ultrasound emitter. The wolves have not notice the group yet while Tony sets up the emitter.

In go her own earbuds; Yasmin will have to be signaled by hand or via text if either of the men want to speak to her, but given the call for silence, the answer is probably not. The leader is easy to pick out amidst the crowd of wolves, and Yasmin seems to be carefully letting her eyes flick past each of the rest of them, as though trying to figure out if she can spot a familiar coat of fur in their midst. Her shoulders slump a few seconds later - she didn't find whoever she was looking for, which seems to be a relief to her, and she signals at the man to begin with a nod of the head.

Meanwhile, her bow is brought up, an arrow tipped with a silver arrowhead nocked on to it, with the Alpha in her sights; she doesn't let it loose yet, not until she knows they're in the clear. No point getting ahead of herself and ending up in the hospital as well. There's a glance behind herself, as though to ensure the path is still open in case she needs to make a run for it in the worst case scenario.

Steve and Tony put their earbuds as well, and as Steve readies his rifle, Tony nods and turns on the emitter and steps back. The ultrasound reaches the pack, causing the wolves to stagger with a few members running away to escape the sound. The remaining wolves take a step back, their teeth gritting while they attempt to bear with the pulsing sound. This leaves the leader in clear view, his claws digging into the ground as he growls. Steve gives a thumbs up and he and Tony shield themselves while they stand near Yasmin.

Yasmin is going to need the protection of those shields in case the Alpha braves the noise long enough to charge her; it may be noiseless to human ears, but these ears are far from human, and even she winces in secondhand sympathy as a few of the wolves whine and run off. Apologies can wait until /after/ the threat has been taken care of, though; she loosens the arrow that's nocked upon her bow, the projectile aimed at the Alpha's shoulder whizzing straight through the air - if she can hit all his limbs and incapacitate him with silver, the others can drag him out of here and lessen his influence over the pack, surely. She doesn't wait to see where the arrow lands, or if it even lands or not before she's reaching into her quiver for the next one, nocking the next projectile onto her bow and drawing it taut.

As the scarred pack leader is struck, he growls and turns his one eye at the group. Padding towards them, he pauses when one of the disoriented wolves staggers in his way, and the leader snarls and harshly shoves them away towards the ground, causing the poor wolf to whine and run away. Taking note of him coming at them, Steve loads some silver bullets in his rifle and aims to shoot at his target's left front leg, the bullet hitting on impact and the leader howls in pain.

There's a tenseness in Yasmin's bearing while she loosens another arrow at the wolf, and she takes a step back to let the other two men cover her while she nocks the next arrow, aiming at each of the wolf's limbs one by one, starting from the forelimbs. She waits until the other wolf is safely away from being accidentally hit before loosening the next arrow as well, and then reaching over to tap Tony in the shoulder to grab his attention.

Yasmin gestures at a nearby tree with high branches, her meaning clear when she takes a step back to get a running start towards it, readying herself to jump: she's going to get up there for safety and a better vantage point if the leader is going to approach any closer.

Steve turns his head towards Yasmin and upon receiving the gesturing message, he nods before he turns his attention back towards the angry leader. The wolf limps towards them, bearing fangs with an occasional snap of his jaws, and Steve and Tony readies their shields with Tony keeping an eye on Yasmin while she heads for the tree. When the wolf notices the woman leaving, Steve bangs his shield to keep the wolf's attention to the two men.

Her bow swung over her shoulder to free her hands, a running headstart, and the use of her athleticism brings Yasmin just barely able to grab hold of a low branch of the tree she's got her eyes set on, and she pulls herself up with straining muscles to crouch down upon the branch, distributing her weight evenly; her upper body could still use some more strength, to be fair. She reaches for her bow again with this vantage point providing her with better access and two very useful, better-equipped meat shields down there to aim for the hindquarters of the wolf, gaze narrowed while she loosens another silver-tipped arrow at the right leg in her sights from this high spot. One more limb to go before it's entirely incapacitated, hopefully.

There is another howl from the wolf as another arrow hits him, and he falls down to his side. He struggles to get up, having managed to and turning to hop on his two remaining good legs towards the tree Yasmin is on before he trips and falls down again, growling and snapping his jaws. The rest of the wolves flee towards the woods while Steve and Tony move closer to surround the wolf as he struggles to get back to his paws.

For all that she's probably completely safe up in her newfound tree unless the branch beneath her decides to give way under her weight, there's still a slightly startled jump when the wolf snaps up towards Yasmin, and she quickly lifts her bow again to shoot the Alpha in the leg, just for good measure, before Steve and Tony take over the task of circling him. She pulls out her phone again now, resting her bow across her lap while she texts: 'Turn off the thing if he's down? Don't hurt other wolves more. Make sure they find their way to the forest.' Hopefully none of them are bleeding from the ears by now. Clearly, determining whether he's truly 'down' or not is up to the other two who are all up close with the wolf, even if she's peering down at it closely from her vantage.

While Steve moves to tie the wolf up while keeping on guard, Tony frees one hand to check Yasmin's text on his phone. He looks up and nods his head before he turns to run towards the emitter and shut it off. Running back to Steve, he gestures towards the woods and gets a nod from Steve. Tony then does something on his phone as the wolf is completely bound. "Good job," Steve looks up to call to Yasmin, taking off his earbuds while Tony heads for the woods where the wolves have fled. "We will take it from here while Tony checks on the other pack members. This one won't be causing anymore trouble."

"Good," Yasmin returns back, her own earplugs finding their way into her pockets while she shifts to a more comfortable perch on the branch, legs swinging back and forth. "It is late for me, I am going to go back home; next time, tell the Temple to do their work better. Or maybe get the Moores involved." Of course, the Temple doing their work better would just mean the wolves would be dead by now, probably. Still, there's a smile flashed over at the other two men, thin yet pleased, and then a light thud of her jumping down to land on her feet, catlike. She doesn't actually make to leave yet, just unstringing her bow for now and slinging it over her shoulder after she's ensured the wolf is securely tied up and won't be running off anytime soon. "Make sure he does not bleed to death." A pause, then she questions, "Will he be killed?"

Steve lets out a wry laugh before he answers Yasmin's question. "That's for the Board to decide. Either kill him or brainwash him so he will work under our watch," he says, keeping an eye out on the bound wolf. "As for you, you done good, Yasmin. I will put a good word to the higher-ups." With that, he bids farewell to the woman with a two-finger salute as a few men in black arrive and they take the wolf away.

Of course. Yasmin has nothing more to say; she quietly watches the wolf be taken off, reaching up to rub at her eyes with a balled up fist before she heads back off towards her car, heart slightly heavy and body more than slightly exhausted. Off to bed for her it is, as soon as she gets home.
