Becky Miller
beX Jones
The road to Haven is paved with teenage drama
So once upon a time there was Arthur and Melody and their daughter Becky, everything was cool and just super swish until the inevitable divorce when Becky was around 7, that was a pretty long lasting marriage, many of her peers were on Daddy number 2 or 3, or maybe Mommy number whatever. Anyway Becky was pretty happy and chill about the situation until John came along and managed to fuck things up. Becky was now 14, and John married Melody, which meant his 6month old twins came along with the deal because his first wife died in childbirth; though Becky thinks she just wanted to get away from the jerk. Whatever the reasons, the Cuckoo soon moved into the nest, installing his always needy and demanding fledglings in pride of place and usurping Princess Becky's crown, sending her off to the scullery - or in this case the shitty attic room.
John has some messed up ideas about women, their role and their position in life. Apparently he's a Christian, but one of the more cultish types and Becky loathes the man. He's cut off the internet, confiscated her computer and she's only allowed a basic phone for emergency use. The one thing Becky still has worth looking forward to are weekends at Art's house (bio dad) Soon she's back online thanks to Art, and hanging out in chatrooms after figuring out she can get grown men buying her all the shit she wants; and all -without- pics. Amazon wishlist starts providing extremely well after she makes sure to link it often... and all she needs to do is write a bit of smut here and there and pretend she's a Vegas stripper in her early twenties, just trying to make ends meet between gigs.
Once the teen has conned a new computer from an eager benefactor, and her own hotspot linked to her new phone, she can spend more time devoted to this fun new game. She soon branches out, hacking into the school system, boosting D's to C's, just small stuff so friends and peers don't face the parental firing squads over report cards and such. Not only was she enjoying collecting new parcels from Art's place each weekend, but she was becoming quite flush with cash too, charging upwards of a Benny for each wee boost of a grade. Shit was sweet.. until some asshole S.W.A.T.ed her in retaliation for her refusal to turn their F into a B. I mean come on seriously? who would have ever bought that anyway. Mom's in the kitchen, twins (now almost 3) playing some kind of manic nativity and plastic soldiers game and the PA outside starts demanding things that no one can hear. BAM the door is broke in and the twins are screaming like baby jesus just got ripped apart by a dinosaur and... Mom... is... losing... her... shit. Becky is marched off downstairs in cuffs.
So now she's down at the station trying to explain she was not armed and holding the twins at gunpoint, though that now sounds like a great idea in hindsight thanks! Her computer, phone.. everything is seized and that is when it all starts to unravel and her chatroom exploits are discovered. John has arrived back home from work by then, tells Melody -that- child is not stepping a foot back into his home (ha! funny, it was Becky's house long before he even knew they existed) She's a bad influence on the innocents (the fledglings) and that he knows of a good Christian school that will take her in and straighten her out.. this is sounding like some kind of movie plot right?..
A super-new-unnatural world
Yep as you guessed it Becky Miller, 16 years old from Las Vegas (not the fun part, the super boring residential parts) , or beX Jones as she's insisting on now, gets dumped in Blackfield after a really fucking long drive in the back of a white van. Like they couldn't just fly her there? By the time she arrives the poor girl is a bit dehydrated and disoriented and .. wait that person just turned into a Snake?
How does she cope with it all
Like seriously. how? How about not. Kid had a psychotic break. In her new narrative she's in a Coma after the Cuckoo tried to murder her, that's reasonable right? She had read a book about this sort of thing and it all fits. This world is a construct of her, and the other dreamers, imaginations. It pulls from their memories and experiences and.. as beX reasons, all the movies, tv shows and books she's ever consumed. All of them, any of them, who knows what fantasy is going to pop up next.
