Boyd Moore
History
Boyd Winston Moore was born in Haven and raised within the loving bosom of the Moore family. Big sister Mary saw to much of his upbringing, as she did to so many of the Moore cousins, and it was probably she who arranged his bloody teenage admittance into the pack. Whether this is the case or not, Boyd was Aware since he could talk and supernatural since about 14.
Growing up was an adventure in various forested excursions from West Virginia to Canada, from Haven to California. He met many of North America's most prominent wolves and learned from the best. Between these runs, he was kept busy working to earn his keep, mostly apprenticing in construction. As he reached adulthood, the man could often be found doing various odd jobs around the Westhaven property and helping protect family holdings.
Boyd began dating his future his wife, Cheryl Jo, in Haven while in his teens. She was Aware and not the least bit intimidated by his trailer park Moore heritage, a trait that only locked him to her that much tighter. They had one child together, Callalily Moore, who was born a werewolf when he was 20. They made their home in Haven, at Westhaven, and although they often enough travelled for their own pleasure and on behalf of the Moores.
In 2022, their occasionally errant daughter managed to annoy a bruja and earn herself a curse that extended to daddy Boyd through some twist of logic only Mexican witches can fathom. As of early 2023 this inconvenience has preoccupied the man, mostly in the form of trips pursuing potential clues to the identify and location of the arcanist in question. Meanwhile, his strength remains significantly curtailed by the black magic.
As Moores go, Boyd is fairly typical. He strives to take care of family and home, does not seek problems with others and handles his share of pack business. He works to stay out of the headlines, full moon or otherwise, and his public face is that of a park handyman and security person around Westhaven and the nearby homeless shelter known as The Longhouse.
Boyd Moore's main goal is to regain and improve his strength, and to use that power to safeguard his pack. He is a soldier and trusted agent of the pack' A lifetime of hard work and self-discipline provide him with a path to this end despite the constant tugging of Lunar tides and the tempations of personal ambitions.
Where I Fit in a World of Monsters
Boyd is a core member of the Moore family and has been one of the monsters since childhood. Despite that, he makes no secret of his choice to straddle the fence between man and wolf without abandoning either. The Moore's are one of Haven's founding families and Boyd's obligations are to more than just his animal instincts.
There is a wide range of supernatural perspective amongst the Moore family, ranging from lunacy embracers to those who rarely even shift. Many Moores are Naturals, some are of other bloodlines and a few may possibly have inactive traces in their genes. The family is run as a pack, however, and the leadership is either wolf or picked by wolves.
Currently, the Moores have adopted a moderate stance on supernatural politics, citing the welfare of Haven and the pack as motivators.
RP Hooks
Boyd is a Moore and the family is his primary loyalty. He works for the family, takes care of the family and answers to the family. The pack. He enjoys working outdoors and so manages the caretaking of the Westhaven grounds as his Mundane occupation. To those Aware and familiar with the Moores, he is also known as a troubleshooter for ande defender of the family.
Those in the know will also be aware he comes from what may be the oldest supernatural bloodline, the wolves that are as old as humanity itself. From this also comes his love of nature and wild places, although he is no technophobe.
As a founding family member, Boyd also considers Haven itself as part of his responsibility. The unofficial network of founding families as well as the official town government are both familiar with him.
