Overview/Timeline/History

Before Haven: Ever searching, she grew up in a family that lived off-grid in a forest in Maine. With no electricity or friends, she searched for any form of stimulation, to ultimately land on books. She swallowed them, living vicariously through every character in the shade of forest trees. Fantasy had a special place in her heart, next to Historical Fiction. Reading everything her parents had brought to their cabin, then harassing them to fetch ever more books from the nearest town... Her fascination grew and grew and her own wanderlust grew in kind. In the end, this lead her to the ultimate betrayal - she left her parents to learn more, to experience the world for herself. Years later with a History degree under her belt and her fascination for all that is different driving her into the occult, ennui set in. Whatever was she to do now, now that she had read so much that all patterns in history and fiction seemed to be infinitely repetitive? A soul sucking job as a history teacher at a college did nothing to help her plight. Until. On her 32nd birthday rumors of Haven caught her attention - the ultimate gift, it seemed as she packed what little she could and set off to this little town. Little did she know, it is not butterflies that dwell at the bottom of the well... Since Arrival in Haven: She learned quickly of the supernatural, inquisitive mind rewarded within a week with the knowledge she seeked. And some knowledge. She's lived a life of caution since, tipping along just enough to learn, always retracting from the curtains she expects to find monsters behind. She's grown practically obsessed with allies, friends, lovers. Anyone she can trust. Desperate to find them. Desperate to trust them. Desperate to cut them out before they betray her. Is she happier like this, aware of the monstrosities? Perhaps, perhaps not. She's not bored, at the very least and it's unlocked new sides of her she never expected to have. She clasps onto this world with firm fingers, only to let go when she feels its pull. Yet none escape it. Seeing her friends get hurt and a strange encounter with a ghost impressing its horrible memories of her, memories of someone like her, broken, burned, beaten and killed, has impressed on her a need for power. Power to defend. Power to protect. She would burn this world, if it lets her create one where she doesn't have to watch the cycle of pain. She would destroy it all, for the virtue of being allowed to stop watching it. Yet her curiosity always drives her to learn more. Tragically doomed to be forever weak. Supernatural/Weirdness: She is an Angelborn, one carrying with her memories of another Angelborn's life, tragically cut short. She's awakened to her powers in Haven and has been quick - and eager - to control them. Now, she seeks for more. A pact, a relic, a weapon, anything.

Abilities

Historical Education: She is an expert in the field of General History and quick to combine this with her growing knowledge on the Supernatural to create workable theories. Travels to Europe have left her with pronounced memories of all sorts of locations appreciated in occult rumors and if a divine entity exists that she doesn't have a working knowledge about, she has not heard of the name yet.
Rational Strategist: Ever a quick thinker, she can think herself out of most pickles and into most positions, when it comes to it. When push comes to shove, she turns icily cold and regards the world with cold logic.
Bowmanship: Having grown up in the forest, she can use her bow with incredible precision, it functioning as virtually an extension of her arms. Lately, she's been trying to figure out how to leverage her bow skills into a weapon that is easier to carry around...
Renowned Influencer: She says just the right things to just the right people to get her way. She has a friendly disposition and seems so eager to share it's nigh-reckless, yet keeps other people's secrets close to her chest and may be noticed to never quite share anything that could backfire. There is a difference between an influencer and a manipulator. The difference is, that Noelle makes sure that those who deal with her, don't come to regret it. Being her enemy means never finding out just why things never quite turn your way - subtle prods and pushes, only barely traceable to her by the circumstantial, her modus operandi.

Curiosity: She is dangerously curious for just about any knowledge, a single smile and gesture of kindness is enough for her to plunge in headfirst into a quest to satiate. But curious cats get hurt, what is to come of a woman who can't keep her eyes to herself? Just how deep is she willing to go to fulfill that incessant thirst?
Loyalty: She prizes her loyalty more than anything, she would do anything for her friends and is unceasingly dedicated to the pursuits of the Hand as well. Just how much is she willing to cover herself in blood and mud for her values? Just what happens if her loyalties begin to conflict? Why does she seem to care more for not betraying people, than for the people themselves?
Power: She is desperate for power and will do just about anything to achieve it. She claims not to be callous, but who knows who she would sacrifice, nameless victims for an illusion of security. An offer that sounds rational on paper immediately throwing her into a risk on her person, will she find power, or pain?
Love: Be it friendly or romantic, she clings onto anyone who shows her some kindness and a hint of the genuine. Her self-defense instincts, her rationality sinking to sub zero the moment she trusts. Who knows how badly that could be abused? ...One should be wary though, because once she does realize, a woman scorned...
Support: Handy with a bow, cool under pressure and knowledgeable on history, she makes a fine companion to take along or consult, be it as a sounding board, researcher or backline coverage. Better still, she is surprisingly eager to go along with just about any request asked of her, so long as it doesn't oppose her interests.

OOC - general: I am new to Haven, please do give me feedback and tell me when I make a mistake. I want my partners to have a good time, so please send me a tell if I am doing something to upset you. Happy to avoid RP with people who don't enjoy it as well. I am a bit anxious and panicky, I am fine with most antag but I will panic if I don't trust you and it's too sudden. Please RP things out, don't just start punching me or suddenly tie me. I am very prone to having a minor meltdown when my immersion breaks and I find it very difficult to write then, but otherwise I am very very accepting of whatever is thrown my way. Let's tell a story together?
OOC - Antag Preferences: I like tension the most, threats are wonderful. I do well with torture as well! I am very much not a fan of sexual antag (unless from someone with an estabilished sexual relationship, or someone I /really/ trust), though I will play along and hesitant on mind control. Using mind control to push Noelle into super dramatic arcs of betraying friends or lovers is less likely to result in a fun reaction and more likely to result in me writing the bare minimum and putting her to rest, depending on just how far it is pushed. Having her betray her societies is fine, but ideally it should be clear she was forced. I do not enjoy playing a universally-hated character nobody trusts, I have enough integrity to play along, but if you make the game unfun for me, don't expect me to keep spending so much time in it. I'm okay with victimdescs, but anything that lasts longer than a day (maims especially, deaths) is ideally (for me) the result of either, 1. Me really messing up help story death (sucks but if I mess up, I mess up...). 2. Mutual trust, consent and a ton of lead up. I will, however, roll with just about anything if RP'd out properly. I might not like it, it might undermine my fun, but I'll do my best.
