Drowning in the Melancholy of Magnolia Way near the Pool
Cracked and pothole-ridden asphalt roads make up this part of town,
bordered on either side by poorly maintained cracked sidewalks. The
aluminum streetlights are painted a deep, chipped green and appear regularly
along the side, illuminating the street in spots of warm electric light when
it's dark. Where the street is widest small median islands appear with old
twisted trees planted in them. The buildings that line the street seem old
and poorly taken care of.
It is morning, about 62F(16C) degrees,
Isaiah says "Hello? "
Korina says "... hi."
Isaiah says "Lord... Alright. Let's get this over with."
Korina says, with a sniff, "Maybe you should come out into the open, then."
Isaiah(wolf) does just that, hunkering herself down and building power in her muscles, starting to run towards Korina at full speed. How she got from her bedroom to here, only Haven can tell.
Korina isn't the most fond of fighting in water, it would seem, and there's an annoyed click of her tongue when she splashes through the shallow puddles, closing some of the distance between herself and Isaiah(wolf).
Water is bad, and Isaiah(wolf) looks a bit sympathetic towards Korina's predicament. Everyone knows how much cats hate water. For now, the Wolf pauses at its edge, lest they both have to endure the smell of wet dog.
Aha, a stationary target. Korina takes advantage of Isaiah(wolf)'s pause and throws an arrow out that way. It goes plink in the water. Korina looks so, so disappointed in herself.
Isaiah(wolf) has been bamboozled!! The Wolf guffaws as much as an animal can, her eyes going wide and her maw agape. How dare. Fine, wet dog it is! She starts to splash through the water towards Korina, and while she cannot reach her quite yet, she does shake herself out in the middle of the lake, sending water spraying everywhere.
It's the nightmare, and so Korina's olfactory senses are free of any assault that Isaiah(wolf) may otherwise unleash upon them. She simply backs away some more - and then there's the /other/ cat, who she sends into the water with no problem. Or, well, tries anyway. a feisty, juvenile dire-cat with blue and grey stripes and too much energy really only listens when he wants to. "Stay there," she tells Isaiah(wolf). She's got a good shot.
The splash of the arrow missing this time sends water splattering around even more.
Isaiah(wolf) will /not/ stay! She is hardheaded and disobedient, and she mucks around in the lake for a while longer, moving closer to Korina with every arrow shot. That being said, she really is just starting to splash around at this point, easily distracted by play despite the serious situation.
Korina huffs out a breath, and nudges a feisty, juvenile dire-cat with blue and grey stripes and too much energy towards Isaiah(wolf) once more. "Swim faster," she demands of the cat annoyingly while she stands at the very edge of the water. Meanwhile, she's caught on to Isaiah(wolf)'s non-staying intentions, and there's a narrowing of her eyes at him, along with a tiny little growl at the back of her throat.
And then Korina shoots an arrow too. It doesn't hit her because Korina's too distracted with all the water flying around, and she'll probably take that excuse to her grave.
Well, thats not good. Korina is actually starting to hurt Isaiah(wolf), and while she /is: eager to get this battle over with, she /does/ have something to prove, and finally begins to put up a fight. She charges towards the cat, leaping upwards and tackling her down onto her rear end before lashing out towards a shoulder with fangs bared, dripping with saliva.
Korina lets out a startled little yelp when she's dodging out of the way of those fangs, and she sends even more water splashing around as she does a little roll to get back up, her own steel claws bared - bonk, right between the eyes. "Down!" she tells Isaiah(wolf).
Isaiah(wolf) gives Korina a yelp of surprise when she's bonked between the eyes. The she-wolf huffs out an annoyed breath, then decides those claws are chew toys- why else would they be waved around in her face? She snarls, then she lunges again, snapping up a claw or three between her teeth and starting to tear her head back and forth as though this were a game of tug of war.
"Hey!" Korina tries to wrench her claws free of Isaiah(wolf)'s mouth - those are /sharp/! - and she's definitely not above cheating. She frowns real hard at her, another growl escaping her as she focuses, and there's a sluggishness that seeps into Isaiah(wolf)'s limbs - she makes her go very, very still so she can extract those claws free and proceed with further bonkage, just as planned.
Isaiah(wolf) fades out of the nightmare.
