(A battle in the Nightmare)

In the Parking Lot of the Elm Street Apartment Complex
It is morning, about 42F(5C) degrees, and there are a few dark grey stormclouds in the sky.
Berlin sighs, "Bloody hell, this again. I was making coffee. Why does it always have to be while I"m making breakfast.""
Vindicta says "Oh! "
Vindicta says "Bianchini so sorry! Oh gosh..."
"Wasn't it you that snared the other guy?" Colton asks, raising an eyebrow at Berlin. "We're in a fuckin' parking lot, so hard to complain too much. Looks like we've got some Temple on the plate, though."
Berlin shakes his head. "wAsn't me. I was sitting in my living room waiting for my coffee to stop brewing. Suddenly I'm here. Looks like you and me might be on the same side though."
Vindicta says "Oh no... Bianchini not like this.."
Scrubbing his hand across his face, Colton says, "Yeah, well, we are. We got this. Who else is in here? Other than Vindicta."
"No one that I've noticed," Berlin replies, hefting his rifle and sliding a magazine of bullets into the breach. "Did she drag two people in by herself? I didn't think you could even do that, unless you volunteered for the work." He jacks the bolt, seating in the first round and flicks the safety on before activating a laser range finder on the scope.
Vindicta says "Is unfortunate! Bianchini prefer fair fights, but life not fair, so will just do best anyways."
"I volunteered," Colton says wryly. "What with Venice shifting the alliances around, I wanted to see the cut of who I'd be fighting with. I'll be letting you two dance before I get involved myself, I think."
Berlin lifts his rifle, training the laser designator of his range finder over various points. He shakes his head, stepping back and to the side, waiting for the angle to improve. "Give her a chance to get a bit closer," he says idly, "See what we can't do from there."
"See that fucking sniper on her?" Colton asks aloud, not quite turning to look at Berlin as he says it. "She's going to be able to aim better from a distance." He takes a few paces forward and stretches out a hand to make a sharp come-hither motion, forcing Vindicta to stumble a few yards in closer as she's buffeted by some unseen force. "Close in or she'll fuck you up good."
"You can either run in and hope it's enough to get a shot off," Colton warns Berlin, "Or you can move in and defend yourself. Just make sure you manage to get a few steps in before you throw your fucking arms up to protect yourself or you'll never get any damn closer."
Berlin chuckles, striding forward to take a knee at the corner of a building. "I have a few tricks up my sleeves," he assures Colton, giving the man a nod. "Maybe not enough to win, but enough to make it fun, and enough that I'll learn something from this." He rests the barrel of his rifle atop a ledge of the building, setting his cheek to the stock and taking aim. His fingertip rests lightly against the trigger, pulling slowly. He draws in a breath, letting it half out before the rifle cracks loudly. A gout of flame erupts from the barrel, and a bullet flies down range toward Vindicta. "She at least won't get away unscathed," he comments, working the bolt with a four point click, seating in another shiming brass round while he maintains his aim. "She'll have a bruise or two at the very least."
"You got it, then," Colton grunts, pulling a simple two-dollar laser pointer from his pocket and pointing it over Vindicta's way. "There's your target. Get to it."
Berlin breaks his minor cover, moving to a car a bit nearer to Vindicta. He rests his rifle on the front hood, settling in behind it to line up another shot. "cheers," he comments aside to Colton, noting the appearance of that dot on Vindicta's mask. He studies the figure in the distance, considering her. Then his gaze drops to her rifle. He squints his eyes, a flash of fire in the grey orbs as he shakes his head. Then once more he settles in behind the scope. He rests his fingertip on the trigger, squeezing slowly, letting out his half breath. The rifle cracks again, a shining shell casing flying out and tinkling on the pavement as he racks the bolt. "Fuckin' hell," he swears under his breath, noting the miss, but stays ready for a follow up shot.
Grinning as whatever their opponent's up to is quickly swallowed up by the hissing and fuming of a smoke grenade, Colton says to Berlin, "I'd get a little closer while you can."
Berlin blinks as the smoke apears, shaking his head. "CAn't exactly charge at something I can't see," he comments to someone, finger hovering over the trigger as he scans for the appearance of his target. He steps away from the car, trying to find a beetter place to take the shot from.
Berlin blinks as the smoke apears, shaking his head. "CAn't newbie damn, how do you pass if you have no one to attack?exactly charge at something I can't see," he comments to someone, finger hovering over the trigger as he scans for the appearance of his target. He steps away from the car, trying to find a beetter place to take the shot from.
