Patrollogs
(A battle in the Nightmare)

In The Forest
It is night, about -9F(-22C) degrees, and there are a few dark grey stormclouds in the sky. There is a waxing crescent moon.
Turns himself around as he finds himself pulled into the depths of the NIghtmare's shadow. "Who calls?" Kah's voice calls out.
Victoria clicks her tongue against the roof of her mouth.
Spotting Victoria, Kah nods. "Looks like a war patrol."
Victoria raises her eyebrow.
Victoria says "Fantastic. Wonder who the other party is."
Kah growls and hefts his spear. "Let us find out, hrm?" He grins, before glancing at Victoria. "It will be good to fight at your side. "
"Prepare your weapons" Kah says to her with a small smile, "And I will ready mine."
Victoria nods her head as she unsheaths a pair of daggers, glancing about herself.
Emmelline sighs as she moves towards Colton. "Why are things I never signed up for, keep happening today/ I so don't need this."
"Well, I wouldn't take it too personal," Colton grunts, charging in to meet someone halfway to meet her gorgeous weapon with his extremely plain axe. "That sword's fucking stunning, so you got that. Do you know how to use it?"

Emmelline chortles at Colton's words. "I'm glad you like the look of it. yes, I do though..." and she makes a "ooph' noise as she parries the man's axe. "Not as well as you apparently.""
Stepping back and away as he catches Emmelline's blade on the wooden haft on his weapon, Colton flashes the woman a wry smile, then blows out a short, sharp breath as he rushes back in with an enormous swing of the axe. It's not that he's entirely without technique - it's just that he practices a technique that makes full use of his ample strength.
"Oh well this will be a short fight," Emmelline says as she tries to pull back from Colton. "I'm rather regretting getting up so close. I should have stayed back and shot at you instead."
"Better mistake to make now," Colton grunts, matching step with Emmelline and slicing the wicked edge of his axe along her armoured vest, "Than in a fight that really matters."
Emmelline chuckles as she pulls back from Colton and sighs. "I hate this nightmare thing. I don't have my damned rifle on me. But at this point, it hardly matters."
"Part of what you signed up for," Colton warns, not having to move at much more than a leisurely pace to catch up with someone, considering how off-balance she is. "Be careful not to keep your weapons in bags if you want to pull them with you into fights like these, lady. Bag's just for moving them around, yeah?" He lashes out with his axe, carving through the soft meat of Emmelline's thigh, and stops to lift his axe up high, high overhead. "Close your eyes," he suggests - and then the axe comes whistling down to meet her forehead, and everything goes black.

Emmelline fades out of the nightmare.
Finn blinks in surprise as she falls asleep mid sentence "Fucking hell I suppose that answers that question" He tells her as he joins her at the table, tilting her head back with one of his large hands before pressing his fingers to her neck to check her pulse. "..." She was alive, but he didn't seem able to wake her up. He sighs and takes a seat opposite her on the table, leaning back in the seat and staring daggers at anyone who walks past. This wasn't a safe place for a young lady to be left unattended whilst unconscious.
