(Fayad's big game hunt)
[Wed Sep 11 2024]
In The Forest
It is night, about 76F(24C) degrees, Ankle high mist flows through the area. There is a waxing gibbous moon.
Fayad approaches quietly, armed and armored. He glances at Ari with no recognition.
Ash says "No sign so far?"
Fayad says "I don't see anything, no."
Hearing Fayad approach, though he IS awfully quiet about it, Ari glances over her shoulder and slides a look over him. Her eyes get snagged on that pendant, but she doesn't speak, instead just offering him a nod. Then Ash just lights up the area and she winces a touch, eyes clearly not used to the brightness. There's a small shake of her head at the question.
Eventually Emmanuel joins the others in the woods, counting off those gathered, "Oh, I am liking these numbers." He drawls out, and then pauses as he notices someone' more appropriate stance. He crouches down then.

Emmanuel just shrugs back at Fayad.
Fayad says "There it is!"
There's a second there when Emmanuel joins the group where Ari does a double-take, then laughs a bit under her breath. "...I got a phone you dropped in your sleep," she tells him with a small wink, then heads towards the monster.
Emmanuel says "Ah, black pool."
Fayad says "Deploying my wolf, Emmanuel."
Emmanuel glances back over and toward Ari, especially at her comment. "You're the one?" He asks of her, brow furrowing.
Though she had been hanging on the outskirts of the group, Ari jogs a bit when she gets eyes on the creature and comes in for a closer shot, bow rising as she sights. There's a twitch of her lips at Emmanuel's question. "Mmm," she agrees, after loosing an arrow. "Woke up in what I'm assuming is your apartment and definitely did not fall asleep there. Asked a lot of questions to find out whose it was."
"..and you decided to steal away my phone during this?" Emmanuel isn't all too happy about this as he glances back toward Ari with a lingering frown, "You were causing me a lot of trouble, hm?"
Fayad says "Seems like it's really slow."
Ash says "Those things are."
Ari rolls her eyes at Emmanuel's outraged annoyance and blows a bit of hair off her forehead as she circles the pool a bit. It's hard to imagine that arrows are hurting a fucking pool, but whatever. "I mean...compared to kidnapping a girl, I don't think a phone is all that bad, do you?" After a pause she finally admits, "I don't think you kidnapped me, though." High praise.
Ash says "Fayad, why are you so close? Careful."
Fayad says "It's slower than em."
Fayad says "me. "
Fayad says "Also, everyone else is way closer to it than I am, what are you talking about."
Ash says "The fuck?"
Fayad says "You think we're going to let YOU take this?"
Emmanuel says "This is not your prize."
Ash says "You'd beat me to it anyways, let go."
Ash says "I left my book at home."
Fayad says "No I hadn't, you beat me to it."
Ash says "I left my book at home, so you'd win, stop whining."
"Non, I didn't," Emmanuel opines back to Ari, while holding Ash with one hand and firing his rifle at the snake with the other. It seems like they can agree on something at least.
Ash says "It's just habit"
Ari says, sarcastically, "You boys always this mature about things?"
Ash says "They never are."
Ash says "Can I go now?"
"Shh." Emmanuel shushes Ash, "This one cannot be trusted, hm?" He notes over to Ari, pausing for a moment.
Ash says "Like I've ever done shit to be proven untrusworthy Let me go."
Fayad says "You're in the Hand. That's enough reason to dump you into the bay as far as I care."
