In simple prison cell
A simple prison cell with metal bars, a security screen on the northern
wall displaying some sort of meeting room.
It is about 50F(10C) degrees.
Ash says "Yana! "
Ash yells, kicks, and screams, doing their best to get out.
Ash strobes their lights, as if their little will o' wisps could do anything.
Ash says "Yana! "
Ash says "Yana! "
Ash screams for Yana, eventually screaming, "Kitty! Kitty! Yana! Please!"
Ash begins to go spastic, kicking at the walls, throwing themself at the screen, stamping on the ground, smashiing against the window. They don't cry, they don't sob, they scream until they grow hoarse, then they just keep screaming.
Ash starts to sing a heartfelt melody, of agony, anger, and apathy.
Ash sings a song of spite, spitfire and sadism!
Ash sings a song where everyone who has hurt them, done them wrong, made them sad, dies.
Ash crouches low behind the taxi, their gaze flickering between the empty streets and the distant clash of someone and someone. The rain is relentless, soaking through their clothes and chilling them to the bone. For a moment, they focus on the repetitive task of scanning the shadows, but soon the boredom and loneliness begin to creep in, gnawing at the edges of their resolve. With a sigh, they give up on stealth, leaning back against the cold metal of the taxi and letting their rifle rest across their lap. The saber remains at their side, untouched for now.
Ash's voice, quiet at first, breaks through the night, singing softly to themselves as they surrender to the moment: "The ship, it swayed, heave ho, heave ho / On the dark and stormy blue / And I held tight to the Captain's might / As he pulled up his trews." The sound of their voice mingles with the rain, a lonely melody drifting through the storm.
Ash glances out into the darkness again, still searching, but with less urgency now. The next verse escapes their lips, a little louder this time: "You haven't slept," heave ho, he said / 'In many suns and moons.' / 'Oh, I will sleep when we reach shore' / 'And pray we get there soon.'" Their fingers tap idly on the rifle's stock, their mind half on the song, half on the distant fight."
The lyrics continue as they watch the battle unfold, Ash's voice now filling the empty night air: "He said, 'Now hush love, here's your gown.' / 'There's the bed, lantern's down.' / But I don't want to go to sleep; in all my dreams, I drown." The words hang in the air like a plea, mixing with the sound of rain and the distant clash of steel.
