Ashs Syndicate Bargain 240920

(Ash's syndicate bargain)

[Thu Sep 19 2024]

In Town Hall Southern Meeting Room

It is about 65F(18C) degrees.

Ash says "Victoria? Jayarr? Not... not that it matters which, I guess."
Ash says "It's one of us."
Ash says "Ah, so Jayarr."
Ash says "Syndicate. They've been kidnapped."
Ash says "Please do not, Emmanuel."
"They sure have been." Emmanuel notes over to Ash as he wanders into the room.

Ash says "Emmanuel's here, but I don't know what he's going to do. I'm here already."
Ash says "Town Hall."
Ash says "Second floor, southern room."
"Only a hundred?" Emmanuel whistles under his breath, "Tell you what, hm? I'll make you a deal. You pay me one hundred, and I will withdraw my bid."

Ash actually looks terrified, for once, then relaxes.

Ash quickly does it, saying, "There you go. Thank you."

Emmanuel checks his phone, clucks his tongue, and then heads to the door, "Pleasure doing business."

Victoria raises an eyebrow.

Ash says "I worked it out with him - just need to wait for the auction to finish."
Victoria says "What was the deal?"
Ash says "Hundred bucks for him to just leave."
Juniper says "Coward. "
Victoria sighs softly, "What an asshole."

Ash asks with confusion, "What are you talking about? That was kind of him. He'd probably get big kudos for grabbing a pet wolf."

"Wait... a crisp one hundo, I will leave too." Elias says to Ash with a grin on his face, nudging Juniper playfully. After that, he crosses his arms and looks toward the door, "I mean, I am sure he would have accepted less when we arrived. Because if cash doesn't talk, fists can."

Victoria says "A ...pet?"
Juniper sighs a little at that. "He knew we were coming," she explains. "He was high tailing it out of here anyway, he was just extorting you before he did."

Juniper nods to Elias then, in agreement of his assessment.

Ash says "$100 is way cheaper than I'd charge someone for their freedom, let alone. And he thought I spent $100 on Jayarr, so he matched it to walk off."
Victoria sniffs Ash suddenly. "Oh! Fruit."

"I don't know, a hundred bucks, I would walk away from that auction too." Elias says to Juniper with a faint shrug, "It is one of those things, if you don't know who you are getting, you might get ripped off anyway."

Ash blinks before saying, "You didn't have my scent?"

"I've been a bit waterlogged, but I also don't really make sniffing people a habit," Victoria grins.

Victoria says "It's sort of along the same lines as strongly liking things."
Ash tilts their head, but shrugs. They, apparently, memorizes everyone's scent.

"He knew," Juniper theorizes to Elias but then waves her hand in a dismissive manner. "Regardless. I will not call it kind. Ever."

Victoria says "Morgan used to tell me I smell like cupcakes."
Victoria exhales softly.

Isaiah is deposited onto the floor in a disheveled heap, soaked to the bone and coughing up water as she's drug from that underground cage, red in the face from lack of oxygen.

Ash hugs Isaiah tightly, squeezing, before frowning. "Why are you soaking wet??? From the top up - fuck! We need to take you to the clinic."

Ash says "Someone - June, carry him? Thank the fucking gods I learned how to do this yesterday."
Ash smacks Isaiah on the back, helping her cough it up. "Sorry, she, they - whatever."

Ash says "Meet you there?"
"Well, there we go, nice and secured." Elias says before glancing to Ash, "I am sure their basement had some flooding issues." He reminds the spritely individual, "Back to the house?"

Ash blinks. "No, the clinic! She's mostly drowned, Elias!" They are not freaking out. "Take her weapons, someone stash it somewhere safe."

Victoria says "Mostly. "
Ash says "Yeah - secondary drowning is serious!"
Isaiah balances on her knees and hands once she's released, rubbing her rope-burned wrists a few times and then sitting down on her ass, gasping for breath. "I-I'm fine," she sputters, using the back of her hand to wipe the mix of bile and filthy water from her mouth. "I-I can h-heal outside of the C-Clinic."

"Well, I can take the weapons and throw them in my trunk for now." Elias says to Juniper, glancing back over to Ash, "So, what's the plan?"

Ash says "You're going to the clinic. I know you hate it, but you need to be suctioned, Jayarr. Your speedy healing doesn't help if you fucking drown."
Ash says, "That's why I wasn't going to untie her - I knew she'd hate it... but we don't have a facility at home, Jayarr. The only other option is the fucking Orphan's Graveyard - and do NOT ask me why they have medical equipment in the shed over there."

Ash blinks.

Juniper said, "But*"

Ash says "Fucking- "
"Alright, I will take you two back to the house." Elias says to Juniper and Victoria, "Jayarr seems like they are in good hands."

Ash looks absolutely flabbergasted at the others - but they're the one still only a few months into Haven life.

"I don't need the hospital," Isaiah tells Ash as she rises shakily to her feet, watching her 'found family' depart and then leaning heavily against a table. "How much did you pay for me?" she asks, breathing heavily as she finishes up her drip-dry.

Ash kneels besides Isaiah, begging softly, "Please, Jayarr. Let me take you in. I'll be your nurse. I've made promises, right? I know you hate it, but please. Just until...." They sigh at Isaiah rises, clearly morose.

Ash sighs. "Only if you promise not to pay me back."

Ash says "I'll tell you if you just want to know how valuable you are, but *not* for something like paying me back."
"... Fine. I just want to know," Isaiah tells Ash sullenly, pinching one nostril closed and blowing a wad of snot and sea water out of the other. 'I'll be fine.. I feel better already, see?" she asks, flexing her soaked-to-the-bone muscles."

Ash eyes Isaiah. but it's not like they an actually tell. "$420, between buying off the competition and bribes."

Ash rubs Isaiah's back, resting their head on her shoulder as they sigh, letting the adrenaline and energy drain out, the stress and fear leaving like the water drying from Isaiah's heated form.
