Patrollogs
(Casey's decursing attempt)

Outside Room 105 in the First Floor Hallway of Hotel Antlers
Large enough to not be claustrophobic, this hallway stretches out on both
sides and sports doors to the hotel rooms on both walls, spaced evenly
throughout. The space is lit with metal wall sconces that give a dim, warm
glow, aided by any ambient light from the windows at either end of the hall.
The hardwood underfoot echoes steps from just about everything.
It is night, about 34F(1C) degrees, and the sky is covered by dark grey stormclouds. It's snowing outside. There is a waning gibbous moon.
Casey pauses a few moments where she was, outside of the Hotel Antlers room. A glance up towards one side of the hall, and down the other, and Casey tosses the bone bracelet onto the floor. Her eyes drift shut, and Casey brings up her athame, tucking her cell phone into her back pocket as she goes.
Casey draws into a squat near the item, and gently touches the tip of her blade to it, her lips twisting into a frown as she looks up, her hair sliding forward over her shoulders as she goes.
For several seconds the room grows painfully hot.
Casey was in the process of bringing her hand up, to draw the edge of her blade along the inside of her palm. She sprinkles blood on the necklace, and starts a low chant, using the tip of her blade to suggest the blood go into different shapes on the carpet of the place. She glances up and down the halls, as if looking for people that might be spying on her... but she tugs at her collar.
It felt... nice. For like a half second, before the heat became sweltering, Casey's head dipping down as she starts to shift uncomfortably in place.
Casey sends off a rapid-fire series of texts, before Casey sets her blade to the necklace again, the tip still glistening with blood as she goes.
The artifact emits a flash of blinding light.
Casey had *just* turned her eyes back onto it when it flashes like that, Casey bringing her hand up to cover her eyes, turning her face away as she felt it searing onto her form. "Yikes." Casey says, her voice sharp as she turns her attention back to it.
For several seconds the room grows painfully cold.
One extreme to the other, after the heat wave, now we're going towards the cold snap, and as soon as Casey was hoping to even shed her outer jacket... Casey tugs it right back on, grimacing, and throwing her hood on over her head as she shivers in place, curling forward as she focuses her attention on the necklace.
Casey lets the tip of her blade drag across the item as the cold snap starts to fade into neutrality. "Alright, almost got all the energy out of you, time to twist the..." Casey pauses. "Time to *bind*," Casey says, with a small amount of threat in her voice as she spins the weapon, and jabs it inbetween the circle of the necklace's cord. Casey snaps out a quick breath, and bows her head at that point.
With a final burst of power the curse on a bone necklace is broken.
