Castiels Bargaining 250128

(Castiel's bargaining)

[Mon Jan 27 2025]

In Town Hall Northern Meeting Room

It is about 45F(7C) degrees.

Stepping aside, Sam nods to Castiel, seemingly happy to make room. "Good morning."

Sam gives a pleasant nod to Sophie, smiling as she enters. "Good morning there. How is it going?"

He then looks over to Lenny. "Russo."

"This is a cute date for you two." Lenny sneers as he swaggers his way inside to notice Castiel and Sam. He considers the situation, all the competition arrayed against him makes this a dubious prospect then he reaches up to touch his ear.

Lenny says "Hey forget this one, every dickhead and their sister is here tryin' to get in on it. Live to bribe another day."
"Well, isn't this a crowd," Sophie muses when she walks in to find Sam, Lenny, and Castiel all gathered around the poor representative of The Hanshin Group who must be sweating by now. She flashes the representative a smile, reaching out for a firm, professional handshake. "Here on behalf of the Argent Conclave, hello."

Lenny says "Yeah.. "
The doors to the meeting hall open on their own, quietly and silently before Castiel makes his entry. Silence and stillness, they belie everything that he is, his approach, and the way he nods aside to Sam upon walking past the man - but that is all before he pulls a chair and takes a seat closest from the representative. In his hand is but a simple suitcase, one that he lays out, clicks it open, and turns aside to display its contents to the representative. Whatever is within it, before the man can reach, Castiel slams it shut. "For the beginning of a lucrative friendship with the Vox Dei. I am certain we can have a personal meeting after this." Yet, his eyes, those molten suns speak of an intense distaste for whatever reason while he leaves the suitcase where it is, and leans back to lace his fingers together over his midsect, set his eyes out, and about. Particularly at Lenny.

Lenny throws a peace sign to Sam as a parting gesture then he glances to Castiel, converting that peace sign into another sign by curling his index finger down. He grins then he swaggers his ass right back out. Ceding the reps attention to the others who wish to stay.

Castiel says, with a lazy air of indifference, "Don't be a coward, Templar."
Lenny says "Not wastin' my time"
"He didn't bid on Declan earlier, either. Seems that Lenny, now he's no longer the leader, has turned back into a no-body." Sam speaks, simply.

"Whatever excuse helps him sleep at night." Castiel offers, without glancing past at the door again. Instead, Castiel's eyes are upon Sophie. They stay, scrutinize, but Castiel only dips his head in a polite enough nod before looking away and back upon the representative to continue burdening the man with the weight of his perpetually unblinking stare.

Sophie blinks between Sam and Castiel and Lenny while he departs, before deciding she doesn't really care and turning all her attention back to the representative of The Hanshin Group. She does laugh under her breath at the comparison - and then immediately looks disgusted at herself for laughing at Lenny's joke. "Unpleasantness aside," she says, clearing her throat and smoothing her tone to something more professional. "Theres immense potential in what we could accomplish together. The Conclave is deeply committed to sustainable production methods and reducing waste at every level, and we've already made strides in areas that overlap with your research. With your technological innovation and our expertise in practical, scalable applications, there's no reason this partnership couldn't set the standard for the future, yes? I think you know what the best option is here."

"If your people are so inclined, you can take him." Castiel replies, soft-spoken as ever, without looking away from his abject object of attention. A bead of sweat rolls down the corner of the representative's temple when their eyes meet, but Castiel continues to speak towards Sam. "He may front and bark, but I've given him enough fear to not be a bother to me. There is only death at the end of that path, for he cannot conform to salvation." While he does, Castiel nudges the suitcase a tad closer towards the representative. Smiles, something perfect, but perfectly cruel, too, beneath the lidded suns that are his eyes.

Not really mixing in the negotiations, Sam nods to Castiel. "Perhaps we shall do so." Sam looks, somewhat amused between Sophie and Castiel, then looks up to Cara. "Ah, miss Brooksgate. Mister Russo has shown up to do nothing already, apart from attempt to be suave. How are you today?"

Castiel says "Cutting it very close."
The representative of The Hanshin Group decides to support The Argent Conclave.
