(Elias's decursing attempt)
[Mon Oct 7 2024]
In the Darkened Alley behind Clay's Gas Station
It is after dusk, about 57F(13C) degrees, and the sky is covered by dark grey stormclouds. There is a waxing crescent moon.
All metal objects in the room are suddenly tugged violently towards the artifact.
As metallic objects start wizzing towards Elias, Elias ducks avoiding the assault from all the potentially dangerous items hurling towards him.
Holding out the wooden dagger, Elias kneels down and starts carving runes into the ground using the very said dagger to do it. He reaches to his belt pouch and starts pouring salt upon the ground, filling in the carved runes. The man starts performing a complex ritual in an effort to remove the spirit in which possesses the dagger that had found its way into Elias' possession.
For several seconds the room grows painfully hot.
On this cool Haven evening of the fall, Elias stands with the circle and starts to focus on the dagger. Lightning leaps between the storm clouds above him as the man starts chanting in Latin, "Spirit of the Air, I call upon you to expel this spirit from this weapon. It does not belong in this item. It does not belong in this world." The man calls out in defiance against the dagger. The very energy is being pulled from the air as it starts to rapidly cool, causing steam to raise off the grass. It seems immediately after this starts to happen, the dagger strikes out and the area becomes scorchingly hot, wilting the glass nearby.
The dark haired man takes a knee, breathing heavily at the sudden increase in heat as he works hard to lower the ambient temperature of the room with the strength of his magical might. Elias keeps pressing forward with the ritual, chanting, "Repel the forests that possess this dagger. They have no need to remain in this world." As he keeps calling out, seemingly at the dagger.
The artifact emits a flash of blinding light.
Holding a hand out as Elias continues to focus on the wooden dagger as if it is indeed possessed by a devil or something far more vile. In reality, it is probably a simple spirit bound to the dagger as a protector of sort to keep someone unintended. Of course, Elias locking his gaze on the dagger to channel magic into it backfires on him as it emits a flash of blinding light. He lifts his off-hand to shield his eyes from this powerful flash of light. He grimaces and blinks his eyes to shed the spots that have formed on the surfaces of his eyes, "Damn you. You have resisted these before haven't you?" He growls, as he refocuses working on thwarting the spirit possessing the said wooden weapon.
The artifact emits a flash of blinding light.
Gritting his teeth as he continues to forcing his will against the wooden dagger, Elias continues to press on. The foul item continues to resist him even though he starts getting thoughts in his head about snapping the dagger over his knee, just to be spiteful and nearly he just does that. He takes the dagger in both hands and gets ready to smash it on his thigh before he starts thinking better of it. The dagger once more emits a flash of blinding light and once more Elias growls at the artifact, but it doesn't stop him from dispelling the curse.
With a final burst of power the curse on a wooden dagger is broken.
