On the Walkway Leading to the Front Steps of Town Hall
This sidewalk has recently been paved and placed, with mortar in between
the thick slabs of concrete. Some grass has attempted to grow between,
sprouting out thickly here and there, though it still remains in good
condition. Some casual indigenous wildflowers have been planted to either
side of the sidewalk, blooming during the warmer months and resting as dark
brown patches in the winter. A few trees offer shade here and there.
It is morning, about 10F(-12C) degrees, and there are a few dark grey stormclouds in the sky.
Evelynn makes her way up the path with a sour look on her face. It's hard to say what has irritated her but she puts her phone away for a moment and makes her way closer to the deputy
"The price has significantly increased." Evelynn says to the deputy with a raspy tone of voice, she takes a small envelope out of her jacket front pocket and hands it over to the deputy, "See that it does not increase further."
Kylia moves with a calculated grace, her steps echoing softly against the cold, marble floors. A clandestine exchange unfolds as she covertly slips an envelope into the hands of a deputy. A subtle nod and a fleeting, conspiratorial smile is offered.
Kylia's eyes dart around the room like elusive butterflies, checking for any prying gazes that might have caught a glimpse of the covert exchange. A momentary flicker of tension passes over her features, quickly replaced by a facade of nonchalance. Satisfied that the clandestine transaction went unnoticed, she eases into the ebb and flow of the crowd, slipping away with a practiced finesse.
