Fayads Ghost Banishing 241016
In the eerie and tumultuous atmosphere of Arkwright Cemetery, an ancient battle resumes between two ghostly armies, their ethereal forms clashing in a display of spectral warfare and elemental magic. As the cemetery becomes a battleground of frost and pyre, Novel, an intrepid warrior with a knack for guerilla tactics, deftly navigates the chaos. Aided by Fayad's pyromancy, which melts icy hazards and imbues Novel's blade with fire, they work in tandem to prevent the ghosts from escaping into the town and possessing the living. Novel's strategy involves targeting key ghost combatants, sowing disorder among the ranks, and leveraging the environment to his advantage, turning the tide of the supernatural skirmish with cunning and agility.
The battle intensifies with the arrival of cavalry specters and a volley of ghostly arrows, amplifying the peril for both Novel and Fayad. Despite the ever-present danger, they remain undeterred, with Fayad crafting a protective bubble of still air to shield them from the spectral onslaught. Novel, ever resilient, faces the ghostly knights and mages head-on, thriving amidst the flames and destruction with a mixture of vigor and daredevil antics. In the climax, a phalanx of ghostly knights charges, met with a fiery wall summoned by mages, leading to an explosive confrontation that Novel navigates with adept evasion and counterattacks. As the battle culminates in a fierce conflagration and a final gust disperses the remnants of spectral combat, the graveyard falls silent, the ghostly entities retreating, signifying Fayad and Novel's hard-fought victory in this supernatural conflict.

On the Sprawling Hillside of Arkwright Cemetery
It is afternoon, about 62F(16C) degrees, and there are a few dark grey stormclouds in the sky.
An eerie stillness settles over the graveyard, the fog thickening like an otherworldly veil. The ground trembles, and two ghostly armies surge forth, locked in a battle that defies time. One side, draped in ethereal armor, charges with spectral weapons, while the other hurls crackling bolts of elemental magic. The air is alight with haunting energy as the spirits, long dead, resume their eternal battle, heedless of the living who are caught in their spectral warpath.
A group of ethereal berserkers charge, only to be met by a rain of icy shards summoned by frost mancers. The temperature plummets, and living breath freezes in the air, while ice forms treacherous patches beneath the feet, threatening to send everyone sprawling upon the ground.
"Fucking FINALLY." Novel looks delighted as the entities that show up, cracking his knuckles - and then, sidling low. Not trying to dive into the mass of armies and warpath, but snaking in around the gravestones, sticking to cover and keeping his head down. A blade flashes out on occasion - some of the important ghosts, picked off here and there, throats slit and temporarily dissipated or ghost horses stumbling as he moves through the crowd. And then an 'uff' between him dragging one down sending him down, a brief struggle as he disappears into the mass.
Fayad pensively comments towards Novel, although Novel's far too far into the war to be spoken to right now, "I think you asked me that last time we did this, too. It's because if they get out into the town, they'll start possessing people and they'll start fighting each other for real," he informs the man. "Which isn't good because it's pointless. We want people to fight the monsters that rule them, not each other.." , he elaborates, before he melts the ice around him with his pyromancy, raising the temperature so that the melt goes back down into the gravedirt instead of posing a hazard, prepared to use his full mancing powers to assist Novel in becoming a one-man god of death on this battlefield.

Novel takes a moment to answer - some ghost mancers find themselves pulled down into the crowd while the berserks are trampled in errant charge and then, a few moments later, he pops up right next to Fayad, peeking over another tombstone. "That makes fucking sense. I probably just forgot the goddamn answer," he openly concedes to his sometimes shoddy memory as he gives Fayad a shrug back, looking on in interest as cold turns to warmth with a smirk, his bowie knife dancing between his hands. "Might be pretty goddamn entertaining, though. Too bad you can't funnel this bullshit in any way that's helpful, just a shitload of ghosts trying to - that's my cue." And he waits until the ice forms into patches and then goes skating across, to ruin the berserkers' undead days this time
Fayad clutches at his arcane pendant as he sends power across the graveyard towards Novel, heating up his blades with the mystic power of his wizardry to make ti so that it's more thansufficient to disperse the ectoplasmic constructs.
Novel sweeps in after Fayad's enchanting, the glittering blade glowing red across the edges as he moves back into the crowd - hitting where lines starting to collapse, angling to make the battlefield a chaotic mayhem for the fighting ghosts, never directly trying to stand against them but disrupt and turn the entities against each other.
Spectral war drums pound as cavalry specters sweep in from the flank, met by a line of phantom nature mages who attempt to pull at the soil beneath their feet. The clash shakes the ground, causing cracks to appear underfoot and sending the living stumbling as the earth heaves.
Novel rumbles and rolls, catching himself up against and behind a nearby angel statue, tucking himself in to avoid the worst of the thudding and keep himself from being tossed around too much. "Goddamn horses!" He swears.
Fayad knits his brow in concentration as he continues using Novel's distracting efforts to link the spectral forces to his own mystical powers, knitting everything together in a secondary sense for his usual conflagration.
The air thickens with an unnatural fog as ghostly archers let loose a volley of arrows. The projectiles are swept away by a whirlwind conjured by spectral windcallers, and the gust of wind sends everyone alive flying against tombstones with bone-jarring force.
Fayad uses his own abilities at weather mancing to place himself into a bubble of still air - Novel too, if he manages to get the spell off quickly enough.
Novel steps up to try and stab something again, managing to plunge the blade into a shaman - and then he's sent flung back, right at Fayad, the wind abruptly stopping and sending him to a halt right at Fayad's feet. He flashes him a grin upwards and a double thumbs-up. "Thanks, Boss!" And then he's back to his feet, to go back to the cutting floor.
A phalanx of ghostly knights charges forward, their spectral lances aimed at a line of mages, who summon a wall of fire in a desperate attempt to halt the advance. The resulting explosion sends waves of heat blasting throughout the graveyard, setting plants and clothing on fire.
Novel seems much more used to - and invigorated by - the fire - tumbling across some wet puddles left earlier, leaving him even dirtier and soaked in mud, keeping himself from being torched. And then he growls, lunging into that mass of knights and mages, intend on delivering mayhem to them with glee in his eyes
A ghostly battlemage hurls a ball of fire, deflected mid-air by a phantom knight's shield, causing an explosion that sends searing heat and blinding light across the battlefield.
A sudden gust of wind sweeps through the graveyard, scattering the remnants of battle - ashes, shattered stones, and burned foliage - until all that's left is an unsettling calm. The ghostly combatants begin to falter, their spectral forms flickering like dying embers. One by one, they retreat into the earth, their energy spent, until the graveyard is once again quiet.
