Illyanas Bargaining 241105

(Illyana's bargaining)

[Mon Nov 4 2024]

In Town Hall Northern Meeting Room

It is about 50F(10C) degrees.

"Evening, sir," Irene greets the representative of Rockfield Bounties with a smile as she strolls into the room, taking her dark green cap off. Approaching, she extends a hand to offer the man a firm handshake, only to notice Illyana arrive moments later. "Oh, hello Yana. Fred and I were just in the middle of a meeting, did you need the room?" She seems intent to play deliberately dumb as to why they're both here at the same time.

Entering, Illyana looks at her phone before stepping up to representative of RockField Bounties. "Look. I don't actually care about you or yours and I'm here to get payed. I think that's something you can respect. My bosses want me to talk to you about supporting them." Sniffing, she leans against a wall, saying, "That is literally the only deal I'm willing to put the effort into making as I have better things to do. Take it or leave it."

"I don't need the room." Illyana waves Irene's question off. "I'm here because some asshole decided I should come talk to this guy- Though I could care less."

And then Illyana just goes right on ahead towards Fred. Irene actually steps aside, seemingly to let her have it, although she exchanges a knowing, condescending look with the representative as she looks down at the shorter teenager. "Oh wow," she says to that, mirth causing her lips to twitch upwards. "I'm so sorry about that Fred, I didn't realise she was here to bother you." Tucking a hand into her pocket, Irene beckons him over closer to her. "Anyway just ignore her, sorry -- she's a college student, Zoomers are insanely rude these days. So as I was saying earlier, I really think that a relationship with the CIA could be of benefit to your organisation. We have the ability to track down those targets of yours who might be on the run to other countries."

"Temple, not the CIA." Illyana adds to Irene's words. "Too many conflicting stories to keep straight I know, but I really could care less. In fact, have it- Tell Emmy this one's on me." Then she fucks off, clearly having been completely genuine in her distaste and lack of interest.

"What was actually your offer, Yana?" Irene indulges the teenager, turning towards her with a bemused look, undercut by her persistent smirk. "To get paid for ... what, exactly? You know if you're going to try and strike a deal with the Rockfield Bounties, you should probably think about what exactly it is you have to offer first. I guess they don't teach you that in Hand meatbag school, huh?"

Irene lifts up her phone, typing out a little something, and then inches closer to the representative of RockField Bounties to show him her screen. He nods, and then she taps it again, scrolling through to reveal a number of other items. When the scouts report on this later, it will likely be revealed that these were photographs and accompanying profiles of targets of interest. "As I was saying," she continues in Fred's direction, "My friends have a number of contacts that should be of interest to you. But we have our fingers in a few pies in town, and I wouldn't mind adding yours, if you can agree it's in our shared interest. If you can fund the Temple to the tune of, say ..." She makes a show of counting on her fingers, and holds up two. "Two grand? I will personally make sure to put you in touch with our agents in the CIA, and the FBI, and give you access to our database."

And of course at some point, Illyana just fucks right off. "That was really something, wasn't it?" Irene gossips aside with the Rockfield Bounties representative, as they sort out the final details on their business offer. "She just barged right in with no real offer, insulted us both, and seemed to think that would work out for her. I guess the Hand doesn't have anyone to handle diplomacy anymore since Nikolai and Korina left, shame really."
