It is about 50F(10C) degrees.
"Hey, John," Irene greets the representative of Temple Strike Force as she comes strolling in, holding out her hand to shake his own. She smiles at him genially, plainly familiar with him, and strikes up a casual bit of conversation with him. "How's Jane doing these days? You still stationed out in Boston? Ah, yeah, it's rough out there. All the same rich Handjob nonsense, none of the Sanctuary, huh?" Once she's withdrawn her hand, she looks him up and down thoughtfully. "Still, you're looking pretty well these I reckon. I even feel like you have fewer scars on you today than you did last time I saw you."
"Ohh, you got augmented!" Irene soon realises, amid this conversation with the fellow Templar. She looks him up and down with new appreciation, then leans over to inspect his hand, where he's demonstrating the new reinforcements he has on his bones with a few audible raps of his knuckles. "How's that treating you? No side effects? Well that's good, and listen, while you're in town -- why don't you stop by my garage later, actually? I wouldn't mind taking a look for you under the hood, so to speak."
And so they spend a little while longer making standard Temple smalltalk in this manner, before eventually, she cuts to the chase. "Anyway, listen ... we could really use a little extra funding over here in the Temple, if it isn't too much to ask. I hope you know we're doing very good work, and what's best for the Haven chapter is best for Boston, too. We stop them here right at the gate, before they make their way into the wider world."
"Does uh ... fifteen thou sound good to you?" Irene requests of John the representative of Temple Strike Force, pausing to rub at her jaw in thought. "Yeah, I know it sounds like a lot. But you have to factor in that's money we go into both implanting the initial brain chips and then monitoring them on the reg, and all kinds of weapon and armour augments too, and ammo, and expensive alchemical products ... It all adds up, really."
Irene then fishes out her phone to show the grizzled, augmented Strike Force soldier, scrolling down a list of expenses. "Here, I'll show you. Right, so this is just from the start of November ... the actual monthly expenses by the end of the month are going to be a good deal higher."
"So really any amount you can spare, even above that, would really go a long way," Irene reasons over to John with an amicable smile. "And you should bear in mind we recently brought in some new blood, too, and training them is gonna take its own work." She slips aside her phone, and then listens intently to the Boston chapter's list of own demands. Apparently, they want some upgraded armour of their very own. "I mean that's gonna cost ... a lot," she tells him. "But if it's just for you and Jane? I can probably swing that at the end of the month, assuming you're agreeing to wire us the fifteen thousand I'm asking for."
Eventually, they strike a deal. Irene beams a smile over at John the representative of Temple Strike Force, and enthusiastically shakes his hand one more time. They both seem very pleased with what's been agreed. "Great, listen, it was great to see you. Tell Jane I said hi, too, and I hope it all worked out for her with the ... other augs." Irene purses her lips.
After a few fond goodbyes, Irene heads out and onwards, checking her phone to appreciate the fat sum that's now on the Haven Temple's logs.
