(Fayad's big game hunt)
[Tue Oct 15 2024]
In The Forest
It is night, about 56F(13C) degrees, and there are a few wispy white clouds in the sky. Ankle high mist flows through the area. There is a full moon.
Fayad says "THere it is - the pool. Go get it."
"Do not get close to this thing, hm? It is ver-" Emmanuel gives advice.
Fayad says "The monster arrived in the middle of someone's house, so it was lost."
Fayad says "Agh, fuck!"
Emmanuel says "Tase it, Fayad, and get away, They are too cstrong."
Emmanuel says "Do not get close!"
"Mary Mother of God," Irene can be heard oathing in Spanish, as she backs up from the strange, hellish creature several steps, spreading out in the area away from the group she arrived with. She lifts up her rifle with a squint, firing several calculated shots, but most of them go wide. On one occasion, the fiendish thing even manages to snatch a bullet out of the air, swallowing it into its inky depths.
Emmanuel says "Fayad, do not charge in closer, hm?"
Fayad says "I'm following you!"
Emmanuel says "Idiot! "
Fayad says "...nothing in it, somehow...?"
"Sheeeesh." Emmanuel pants out, low, and under his breath, before shaking his head slowly, "Any wounds?"
Fayad says "Get here now."
Selina sighs when Fayad does that. "You already did this once," she reminds them, rolling her eyes. But she moves into position and sends a chilly ray of frost toward Emmanuel nonetheless. "This is hardly a way for allies to behave," she adds before bracing herself for the rest of the fight.
Fayad mutters a swift arcane malediction, a heat haze forming around him as he charges up to Selina, feints low, and then lashes out with a leg to trip his nemesis.
Well, Emmanuel certainly wasn't expecting to be attacked out of the blue, but that's how it goes sometimes. The blast of magic catches him offguard before he steadies himself, and charges in closer, swinging his axe toward Selina with a grunt. He doesn't bother with verbal thorns for the time being.
Three on one probably isn't much of a fair fight, but here shows up another of these incredibly annoying, probably human pests. Irene does not speak, but emerges seemingly out of nowhere, running full-speed towards the blue-haired woman with a flash of steel in his grasp. Out comes a dart-gun to shoot another little trick her way, before the man tries to launch himself at the back of the Godrealms' Border Lord. He stabs viciously, and if one strike fails to land, he stabs again. While not particularly strong, especially not compared to her, his manner is determined.
Selina(aereus draco) appears out of the shimmering light and does nothing much for the time being. But her wounds start healing, even as three men start trying to take her out. What should have been a simple fight with a forest monster has turned into a bit more of a fight than the three may have been gambling for. She lets out a draconic roar and prepares to lay waste to those around her.
Well, that's not good, but not good is normal when one is fighting literal monsters. Emmanuel ducks out of the way of the terrible beasts feet, and then darts forward to strike against it's hard scales, trying to gain purchase with his axe, "Tase it!"
Selina(aereus draco)'s transformation sends Irene's athletic form tumbling back, forcing him to break his fall in the forest undergrowth. The next swing of his knife goes wide, and he clicks his tongue, reaching for a taser-gun with which to replace this ineffectual sliver of steel. But it's still charging up, and the newest arrival to the fray takes a moment to recuperate, backing up several steps.
Fayad lashes out at Selina(aereus draco) with the spear - the same spear he'd fallen upon in an operation rather than assist Selina(aereus draco) in any way. It's clear from the vicious, mindless hatred in his eyes that he'd rather face down the entire Venetian council than ever call this beast an 'ally', trying to nick through a scale and draw blood so that he can poison it.
It may cost him some time, but Emmanuel draws out his plastic little handgun, and fires a wave of neutralizing energy directly into that big ol' dragon. It isn't long then, before Selina is slinking back down into her more petite, nearly human form.
A little late, and perhaps the timing's off, but eventually Irene manages to aim and lodge a pair of little barbs into Selina's now softer human skin, not long after Emmanuel forces her back into human form.
Fayad takes another few harsh jabs with the spear at Selina's naked body, eyes only for attempting to land a vital blow in his bloodlust. As the figurine inhabits itself, he points with his gauntlet towards Selina, and hisses, "KILL HER," to give it orders.
Selina snorts at Fayad, shaking her head. "Good luck with that," she quips, despite the direness of the situation. She does step forward though and tries to slug Fayad across the face with her naked fist. "Your vendetta will be your undoing," she states simply before retaking her stance to try to ward off as much of the incoming flood coming her way.
"Mhmm," There's little more than a dismissal of Selina's words as Emmanuel brings his axe to bear once more, striking for her neck but landing against her arm instead.
Whomever Irene is, it appears he is not a gentleman. His eyes don't shy away from Selina's naked, radiant form, focused fully upon her from behind his shooting glasses. Neither does his blade or gloved hand shy from her. After closing back in, he reaches forth to try and grab whatever part of her may be necessary to strike, thrusting his blade anew, and this time grazing her shoulder.
Fayad thrusts and jabs with the redwood, Hand-crafted spear, delivering another dose of paralytic toxin into Selina's unarmoured left shoulder.
Selina fights as hard as she has the whole time, but clearly she is getting worn down. Naked and without a weapon, but she still goes after Fayad with a fist. Sure, it probably won't hit, and sure, it won't damage him. But at least she is doing something between pants of breath and attacks from different angles.
Emmanuel doesn't hold back this time, while Selina is distracted by beating on Fayad (A pass time for many a monster in Haven,) Emmanuel darts in from behind, holding his axe with both hands and bringing it crashing down against her bare arm, where it cuts into her delicious fleshmeat.
Nothing but cheap, dirty tricks is Irene, who backs up a few steps away from her, this time reaching into his bulky black jacket for a can of pepperspray to unload in the fair maiden's face. Honestly, chivalry is dead and this man killed it.
Fayad drops the spear low and then brings up the butt to try and take advantage of the opportunity to knock Selina out. Failing that, he snarls, reaching in for as much grappling as he can to try and hold Selina still to be subdued by his allies.
Selina may be blinded by pepper spray, but she has other senses, and more brains than her opponents give her credit for. She manages to find 3.someone and still try to land another punch on him before she gets taken out.
Emmanuel doesn't pull back quite enough to go for a knockout, maybe he's just working through some stress. Once more the hungry edge of his weapon cuts into her flesh, this time in her left shoulder.
It's a sticky sitch, but Irene starts trying to manoeuvre himself around Selina and Fayad, looking for an opportunity to help the guy out. Though the Disruptor's leader seems to be managing just fine on his own, being as he's taken the majority of hits so far, this other random keeps close watch. Although he attempts at some point to strike the back of Selina's blue head with the pommel of his blade, he misses -- too much chaos in close-quarters.
Fayad ducks underneath a fireball, swearing to himself as he likewise fails an attempt to end the fight in the only way Sanctuary will permit him, however much he'd clearly prefer to end this with a disembowelment.
"Manny was more of a challenge by himself. You other two are just getting in the way," Selina says even after a few attempts to knock her out. She goes to try to kick Fayad, but Irene gets in the way of that. She is bleeding from several wounds, but even those are already starting to heal up. "You boys need a better hobby. Doesn't at least one of you have a girlfriend?" she asks incredulously.
Well, this is embarrassing. Emmanuel decides to finally try and knock Selina out himself, only to entirely whiff it and nearly take poor Fayad's head off instead, "Come on, we cannot be spending all night doing this, hm? Peyton agreed to finish the job, but we need to be quick about this!"
Yeah, Selina has a point. No girlfriend, no luck, no aim, and as a matter of fact, no comeback -- Irene just grunts in answer to her insults, as he fails to land another blow.
Fayad continues the comedy of errors, emitting a loud yelp as he ducks to avoid Emmanuel's axe, coming back up with the taser that he drives into Selina's body to attempt to ensure Selina doesn't somehow escape.
Selina does not actually escape, but after the cry from the taser, she bounces toward the safest refuge in sight, the figurine. She does not attack it, because electricity is still coursing through her body. But she manages to stay standing through sheer force of will. "If you spent more time training instead of plotting murders," she suggests as the reason for the failed attempts to take he rout.
Emmanuel darts over closer toward Selina, making the poor decision to shoot after moving, instead of before. "I think you mean more time eating people, hm? That is where your abilities come from, Selina. There is non reason to lie to yourself so much."
Off Irene races after Selina, like the good but probably-human henchman that his is, forced to play catch-up with his weak little legs while she casually teleports herself through the woods.
All things considered, Irene is not really that little (only by Haven standards), nor that weak, in fact he's in great shape! But only by human standards.
Fayad books it through the woods, murder in his eyes as he desperately attempts to close the distance, but not even sprinting can cover it.
"I am a vegetarian. Mostly. I do eat chicken some times, but usually not in this body," Selina retorts to someone with a little roll of one shoulder. One which has pretty much stitched itself back together at this point. "So three centuries a vegetarian, maybe a month or so eating chicken. Not sure what my diet really has to do with this though," she elaborates before letting out a sigh.

There's a string of annoyed French cursing from Emmanuel in response to that, but being obtuse isn't something new, and Emmanuel probably should've known better. He takes another swing at her, only to fail to knock her out once more. This comedy of errors has no end in sight, it seems.
Who knows if Selina can teleport off the forest floor. Probably -- she's a supernatural and powerful centuries old dragon, tormenting these mere mortals with her mere presence and effortlessly slippery nature. But at least the guy manages to get her down on the ground for the moment, and Irene seems proud of that. Look at him straighten up, puffing out his chest! Hard to really admire his figure beneath such a bulky jacket, which does nothing to flatter his musculature, but he seems decently built in that moment. Maybe he's flexing for her. Clearly not immune to her charms.
This must be why he still fails to land a single blow on her pretty blue head.
Fayad finally, almost poetically, manages to bring this to an end with a baseball-bat like swing of his spear, finally loosening something in Selina's head, giving the squad an opportunity to bind Selina.
Fayad says "Collar, Emmy."
"..I must've lost them." Emmanuel mutters as he pats himself down, breathing hard.
