(Jodie's bargaining)
[Mon Aug 12 2024]
In Town Hall Northern Meeting Room
It is about 75F(23C) degrees.
Jodie makes her way in and approaches the representative with a sour look on her face, "Look, I'm here for the Arrows. We are the least likely group to mess with you."
"I can tell you that the wolves wont run in the wilds on the full moon." Jodie tells the rep mid-conversation when Fayad arrives, "If you are working with us." she adds as a little threat.
Ash says "Good morning! Hello, hello!"
Fayad approaches representative of The People and engages representative of The People in a fiery diatribe against the Illarin Empire, pledging the Scions to assist them in their tribe's fighting against their enemy that seeks to stamp out barbarism. All that they would desire in return is some shamanic apprentices to learn of the pyroclasm and spread Scionic ideals throughout some of the tribes - which should be no issue, considering it's a mantra of hate and destroying the oppressors.
"Everybody in this place has a motorcycle," Olivia points out to Ash as the pair enter the room and she takes her time to make small talk with the rep. She throws a finger-waggling wave at Fayad and Isaiah after.
Olivia makes a shrug of her shoulders at Ash and points out, "What do you do when it rains, though? Just suffer. Now let me extol the virtues of a used Prius if you want to talk cheap AND safe..."
Illyana enters. Nodding to the gathering the bohemian waits her turn before engaging the representative in a short interchange before stepping back and waiting.
Fayad casts an annoyed glance at Olivia when Olivia walks in with Ash. "That explains a lot," he mutters, darkly, before turning his attention back to representative of The People.
Jodie frowns visibly at the large amount of people who have come to try to sway the representative. She lets out a breath and as if to surrender she starts walking out into the hall while patting her pockets in search of a cigarette
"Because they're cooler," Isaiah corrects Ash, smirking as he drags his heels into the room with that slouched gait of his, hands in the pockets of his jacket, bright red sucker in his left cheek. He approaches representative of The People and upticks his chin. "Sup," he greets, and on rare occasion, gives his government name for all to hear. Not just J.R., he's: "Isaiah Michael Reegan Junior. I'm with the Arrows of Elaphia- we're not that different, you and I, taking walks on the wild side and shit," he banters, lifting an arm in the air to show off his braided leather bracelet.
Fayad says "Elaphians are a bunch of feckless mercenaries who spend their money on pointless orgies and end the night in drug-induced comas, loyal to nothing except money and pleasure. You should join with the Scions of the Inferno instead and direct our flames against your enemies."
Olivia wrinkles her nose back at Fayad and points out, "You forgot to wear shoes, my guy. See you at the beach another time!" To the People's rep she cats a winsome smile and tells them, "It's threats in the wild and hunting you want help with. I'm sorry, but I don't even know who the Scions are? They kind of got trapped in a dragon deal which, ew, RIP. The Hand has all the resources you need for like, anything that's giving you trouble out there. But hey, maybe let's hear more about the Elaphians, huh?"
Jodie steps back in but lingers by the door, she's empty handed and seems to wear a constant look of pissed off and grumpy. Still, for some reason she wants to linger about and watch the others debate their merits.
Fayad stares directly down at his worn sneakers.
Ash grins to representative of The People and states, "Welcome to Haven! I'm sure you've heard of the Helping Hand organization by now, yes? You've heard of our works in the Wilds? You've certainly heard of our recent endeavor in the Wilds, where we've destroyed that predator who'd been sucking up all the game and wildland for, what, decades? Centuries? And how the ecosystem can now finally recover, allowing the Wilds to thrive again, and the people, *your* People, to thrive and feast once more? You also know how active we've been in the Wilds for quite some time now. The Wilds have only benefited from the work of The Hand, and we find it a beneficial relationship." They grin, saying, "So what say you we simply continue as we are? I'm Ash Starling, and the Hand is already here for you."
"The Scions want to destroy the world," Isaiah reminds representative of The People, keeping his calm in the face of Fayad's slander. "They may very well be the reason the world ends in thirty-seven. Their Eidolon wants to watch the world burn, even if the lackeys that follow Him are disorganized orangutans that don't understand the true brevity of what and who it is that they support." He spares no one else a glance, in full business mode at the moment as he verbally dukes it out. "You want support without all the fucking rules, without all the human trafficking, and definitely without the Bad Dragon vibes, then you want the Arrows. We vibe, we make our money, and we mind our business. You can too, friend."
Isaiah says "You know, unless you're into that kinda shit. In which case, you know, we've got the fucking dildos. Website ain't half bad if you're kinky enough."
job- Or at least the effort she's willing already given, Illyana moves back to a wall. Leaning against it, she makes sure that her fringe falls just -so- for that perfectly dramatic flare as she inspects her nails, apparently perfectly content to let the others talk on. Giving the representative of The People a single nod, she is more than happy to wait to see what the outcome will be.
"Eww, the Scions human traffick?" Olivia asks Ash, very much in the background support for all of this. It's an aimless and diffusive sort of charm, certainly not one wielded by the brightest or most informed. "We can definitely agree on the Dragon going home. I so can't wait to hear--another time--about your group," she tells Isaiah after the retreat of the Scions' representative. To Ash she completes, "I'll let you go solo back. I can get some shopping done on this side of town. Thanks for the lift!"
