(Julius's nightmare battle with Silas)
[Wed Oct 2 2024]
In a spacious bedroom of a Converted Windmill
The second-floor bedroom within the windmill conversion is modern style amidst layered history. Nestled within the curved walls of the original structure, the room features a luxurious king-sized bed centered against a backdrop of exposed brick, adding a touch of the building's historical essence. The soft, plush bedding in dark tones invites restful slumber, while floor-to-ceiling windows offer breathtaking views of the starlit sky and the landscape beyond. Custom-built, curved wardrobes follow the contours of the room, maximizing space without compromising the room's elegant aesthetic. Another part of the room, near where the floor-to-ceiling windows end, has been converted into a reading nook.
It is afternoon, about 59F(15C) degrees, and the sky is covered by dark grey stormclouds.
Julius looks around in confusion briefly then he says, "Well shit." in a low, gravelly voice
"Oh, what a perfect time," Silas says as he grumbles a bit, looking around himself now and peering into the darkness of the nightmare.
Dahlia looks around startled as Silas vanishes. "...What?"
Dahlia scrambles off the bed into more of a standing position.
"Who is out there?" Silas asks into the nightmare now as he tries to pick himself up into a better standing position, though it looks like his enthusiasm right now is on the lower end of the scale in terms of this potential conflict, "I was really just trying to shelter out this whole thing today, until later, can't we just..." He sighs out.
"We could." Julius suggest, seeming unbothered either way. "I was going to go investigate that monster. sighting anyways."
"Can't we schedule this another time?" Silas complains as he chuckles softly and begins to check over himself. His pat down supplies enough information for his concerns as he leans against something he holds in his hand, using it as support, "The afternoon truly is the worst time of day... and I've been hearing alerts about that potential problem, myself."
"Is there a gathering for it?" Julius ask bluntly, "Can't exactly get in contact with people cause of the phones being messed up."
Silas grimaces some at the face pushing its way through the wall of darkness around himself and he takes a couple steps the opposite direction, "I don't know yet, but it looks like we have this scrap to handle first." He starts to roll his shoulders some and begins to try and perk himself up by taking a few hopping steps side to side, shaking his head back and forth, "Bad timing is all. I was really relaxing, but think most the monster hunts happen later in the evening, phones being messed up really doesn't help at all, doe sit?"
As the nightmare begins to clear enough for Silas to spot the foe, he realizes just how close Julius is to him and with a quick few steps of closing distance he says, "Then a scrap it is!" He lifts his axe upwards now, preparing to come down with a sweeping and prodding attack against the other man.
Julius barely avoids getting cut down by Silas's axe in he first attack, but after the other man over extends, he bats the weapon by smacking him in the wrist, then he slices, ever so slightly with a poisoned blade
The blade comes lashing out after the disarming attack against Silas and he slips to the side, a knick is enough though as he tries to avoid that problematic slash and then lashes out with his own strike now, attempting to recover his weapon afterwards with a thrust fist in the man's direction.
"I'm Julius by the way." Julius tells Silas, because battle is often the best way to make acquaintances. He slashes again with his knife, not making very much ground in doing so.
"Silas," Silas says through grunting as he tries to fend off another blow, lashing out with his own at the man as he fends off that hunting knife, "Fighting each other instead of this damned monster, huh?"
Julius takes a moment, fumbling back to get a tranquilizer ready to pop Silas's with it, then he follows up with his blade again. "Don't have much control over when this sort of thing happens. You know this."
Perhaps that dart is effective against Silas, he doesn't really know as he takes the shot against his armor and it might pierce there. Another swing with the blade he wields tries to bring him closer to the other man before dancing back, attempting to keep a little distance from that knife, "It is always something, but it sure does wake you up, doesn't it?"
Julius fights with human speed and human ability and it shows. He can't take very much of a punishment and so he avoids it as much as possible. What he does have in his favor is all his cheap tricks to slow Silas down
Through the cheap tricks, Silas keeps pressing on, and even as he moves sluggishly and his swings aren't exactly with the most finesse possible in the moment, he still puts some power behin each one of them now, but the man certainly looks tired while doing it, put out by the whole experience as a face of coming exhaustion seems to be taking over.
Julius fumbles again with his bag, missing his chance to attack
Another trick in the moment that Julius attempts to pull out brings Silas in closer and he seems to forget about the distance advantage that a longer blade might give. His blue eyes flashing from their dullness of the day as he lashes out with a grunt, impacting with the other man, something pushing him forward through the struggle that the cocktail of poison and darts mingles within his body.
Julius drops a grenade that sends a pulse through Silas and himself, then he's back to swinging, but he's flagging fast..
There is a flash as that grenades pulses through both Silas and Julius now. The exhaustion really starts to catch up with the slashing man now, and after a lean forward and a sway, another lashing attack seems to strike Julius wtih enough force to potentially break the cycle of this nightmare battle as he says, "In a moment... you almost feel human again."
Julius fades out of the nightmare.
