On Warden's Way Piercing the Wood to Reveal the White Oak Institute
Smooth asphalt roads continue through this part of town, bordered on either side by well maintained concrete sidewalks. Where the street is widest small median islands appear with old twisted trees planted in them. The buildings that line the street seem quaint, but well maintained.
It is morning, about 77F(25C) degrees,
Illyana says "Oh, you already dealt with it?"
Konstantin shakes his head, approaching psychiatrist. "Not yet. Why don't you do a little talking Illyana, show us your silver tongue." He nods aside to her, hanging back for the moment.
Korina rolls up to Illyana and Konstantin with her hands in her pockets, nodding at both of them before considering psychiatrist with narrowed eyes. "I heard someone was being annoying," she claims.
Illyana says "I might. One moment."
Konstantin says "I can pay"
Konstantin reaches back into his pocket, drawing out a wallet. He unfolds it, picking out a wad of bills and tutting softly. "Decent bribe, this. On top what we pay already to his superiors." He glances aside to Korina and Illyana, "Do you think this counts as trying to blackmail us?"
Korina doesn't answer that. Instead, she's just sneaking closer to Konstantin while he's pulling out the bills, her eyes slightly narrowed and fixed right on his head. She's trying to look for something.
Konstantin reaches up, scratching the top of his head. right on top. There's a small pinkish patch there maybe two inches wide. Could be sunburn.. could be something else. "I don't like being blackmailed."
Walking back in, Illyana Greets psychiatrist. "Word has it the last one in there was somewhat problematic for you." Illyana mentions, nodding sympathetically. "They say that you and yours had to work overtime for that. So really, you deserve a much needed rest. Here, let me write you out something to give your people an evening on the town. I hear Rosie's diner would offer discounts, and of course, Howl is a great way to finish up an evening in relaxation."
Immediately, with no hesitation at all, Korina asks Konstantin, while Illyana's attempting to sweet-talk the psychiatrist, "Should we kidnap him?"
"Best thing for it really is if you let us take care of this. No point in you having to deal with that tedium." Illyana shakes her head. "The last thing you need is the book keeping, and only crazies keep going on like that." Illyana bullshits fluently in drama club. "In fact, I'll have a word with the boss over in Rosie's and we'll set you up a booth in the back."
Illyana eyes Korina. There's a moment where she snags the gaze of someone and smiles. There may be some slight amnesia going on in relation to mentions of kidnap.
Konstantin murmurs aside to Korina, crossing his arms against his chest. "See, this is why Whisper is good. I was going to talk about family being important, this kind of thing. With all we pay monthly.. Tsch." He rolls his eyes a bit
Korina's disappointment is obvious, but it doesn't last too long; she's distracted with the other woman who passes by, her nose wrinkling up just faintly and her eyes tracking her movements all the way into the institute until she disappears from view. Then she comes back to the present, just in time to hear the tail end of Konstantin's words. "Oh," she says. She definitely didn't listen to any of that. "... yes."
"I mean, I could've flashed some leg, but then I'd have to start breaking arms, so maybe subtle and offers of a nice meal works best." Illyana types something into her phone, sending a text. "Fayad's in the clinic with a friend or two if you want to kidnap someone from Selina though." the bohemian offers to Korina.
