Patrollogs
(Konstantin's nightmare battle with Saoirse)
[Fri Aug 9 2024]
In a lush garden enclosed by privacy fences
An arboreal scene stretches out before you, a variety of deciduous and coniferous trees planted around a lawn mostly made up of moss. The trees essentially shelter all underneath their boughs from the elements; the water trickles down to feed the plants below.
Stepping stones snake their way through the plush moss coating the ground, solid slabs of pale slatestone that, thanks to the shade, are cool to the touch of bare feet.
The stone path leads straight towards the stairway that this garden serves as a 'front lawn' to; one major branch of the path leads to a set of stairs that ascend to the entrance to the apartment atop the bank, while a secondary path splits off underneath the stairs, leading to a curtained-off alcove. Several other small paths snake off from the stepping stones, leading to a flowering garden and a small, pleasant sitting area, perfect for an outdoor fete.
It is about 60F(15C) degrees.
Saoirse says "... Something's wrong."
Cara says "This is a warfare patrol. One of our rival factions has decided to engage us in combat..."
"Fuck. Guns are all in the car," Sean says. "Kevlar, frags, all of it."
Saoirse says "W-what...? I'm not even armed."
Cara nods to Sean. "Make liberal use of that."
Cara looks to Saoirse. "Do you have one?"
Saoirse looks at Sean, a pleading look in her eyes, before she looks back to someone, saying, "We were going to get weapons and such in a bit, but... You called. And this happened, I have, literally, nothing."

"I am going to slit the throat of whomever tried to harm my home," Sean says, "I'm going down, and fast. It's all in the trunk, but the moment I'm awake, I'm getting the Demolishers on counter-attack."
Cara says "Bluster and grumble later. Right now. Work."
Saoirse says "If I can get upstairs, and to the bedroom, I know I have a knife up there...?"
Cara says "You cannot."
Konstantin says "Is that Harriet?"
Cara says "You first, seeing as you extended the invitaiton."
Konstantin says "What, you don't know me by my voice? I thought we were better friends than that"
Konstantin says "So, this should be interesting.."
Cara says "It might. You pulled our newest and weakest member in... I'm keen to get this resolved."
Konstantin says "Oh really? Good learning experience. Should be thanking me."
Sean says "Suppose so. But you all really do have bad timing."
Konstantin says "Three of you for the one of me, huh"
Saoirse takes a deep breath in, clearly not entirely confident of her odds. Even still, her eyes shone with a preternatural calm, as she simply begun to run, building up into a sprint, directly at the figure who attacked them in their home.
Ariel interlocks his fingers listening to someone attentively. "Okay!" He seems to respond, with a nod. "You are too kind for the offer-... I'd rather not make my friends worry about me- you included."
"...It's a gut feeling, I think. I can tell they care!" The young man spoke in a softspoken tone. "So yeah, I do accept the offer, if you need help with tending to the garden, looking after pets... Or house cleaning, I am more than ready to help out in exchange for you letting me stay- I'd rather not be an idler, you know?" Ariel nods several times.
Whilst it appears the majority present are unarmed, or at least inexperienced, Cara is ready in her battle armor and wastes little time. With trained reflexes she wastes no time, dropping to a knee and firing a silver grenade off into the midst of the battle at Konstantin to the sound of a gas masks rasp.
Saoirse fades out of the nightmare.

Blinking, it looked like he had been spaced out for a while as Saoirse slept, seemingly stuck while waiting for her answer- not realizing how much time had passed.
