Kylias Bargaining

(Kylia's bargaining)

[Sun Jan 7 2024]

In Town Hall Northern Meeting Room

It is about 50F(10C) degrees.

Casey bites her lower lip, glancing left, then right. Scootching forward, Casey slides an envelope onto the table in front of representative of The Red Circle, her smile tugging up the edges of her lips. "I think you'll find... the information there to be really super useful. And you know, if you could help out our cause, well..." Casey taps the side of her nose. "I think you'd be able to help us out in return."

Casey straightens up, spying Kylia, acting as though she had just had her hand caught in the cookie jar. "Hello, Nadiya!" Casey says to Kylia. "Uh... kinda cold out there, isn't it?"

Kylia glides into the meeting room with a subtle amusement playing on her features, "You'd be able to help them to supress your magic, perhaps." The corners of her lips hint at a restrained smile, "They don't even allow magic users within their own ranks. They'll snuff you out the moment you cease to be convenient to them." A shoulder rolls in as shrug, "Hello, Casey. Been some time. How are you?"

"It *has*," Casey says. "You know how life is sometimes. Seasons change, so did I, that sort of thing," Casey says, with an airy little musical laugh, rolling and unrolling a lock of hair around her extended index finger. "And well, I guess a lot of people would. That's kinda the way of the world, right? Take the easy route, all the time," she says, scratching at the side of her nose.

Kylia leans against the table, her voice carrying the nonchalance of someone accustomed to making her point without breaking a sweat, "The Hand is the obvious choice. We'll never moderate what you can and cannot do, so long as you do not become an obstacle to us." Her words flow with a calm confidence, "Few are as keen to progress the research into magic as we. We do want the same thing, ultimately." A hand tilts from side to side in a so-so gesture as she goes on toward Casey with a subtle smile, "That's my hope here, yes. But glad to see you're doing okay."

"I mean... that sounds fantastic, really," Casey says. "All of the freedom one can want," Casey says, with a smile bright. "So long as you make the right friends, and you know - it can be so hard to make the right friends here in town, right?" Casey says, leaning forward with a little smile, her nose crinkling cutely as she does so. "And I'm glad to see you're doing okay, yourself, you know?" she says. "But I kinda knew that, that nice house, and you spoke so highly of your ah... keeper, and all," she says. "You must be very happy."
