In A Tea Room
The warmth of polished hinoki wood embraces this room, its clean lines and
understated elegance reflecting both wealth and tradition. A large, low
table rests at the center, its lacquered surface gleaming beneath the soft
glow of a paper lantern overhead. The scent of roasted tea and faint incense
lingers in the air.
Along one wall, dark wooden cabinets with kumiko latticework conceal modern
appliances. A black iron teapot rests on the irori, the sunken hearth still
warm, surrounded by cushions arranged casually.
A wide, glass-paned window offers a view out to a shrine, framed by a silk
noren, its dyed camellia blossoms swaying faintly with the draft. Beyond the
glass, the black torii and distant hum of cicadas seem almost within reach.
Hand-thrown ceramic bowls stack neatly on open shelves while fox-shaped
incense holder rest near the window.
It is morning, about 50F(10C) degrees, and there are a few dark grey stormclouds in the sky.
"Ah." Takeshi says to Ritsuka, holding up a silver necklace he'd just found stashed under one of someone 's cushions "Want to give me a hand with this?" Takeshi asks her with a grin, seeming excited to get up to something fun with the woman
"Ah." Takeshi says to Ritsuka, holding up a silver necklace he'd just found stashed under one of Ritsuka 's cushions "Want to give me a hand with this?" Takeshi asks her with a grin, seeming excited to get up to something fun with the woman
Takeshi frowns "Ehhhh ... I'll try?" Takeshi says, seeming like he didn't trust himself enough to actually promise
Takeshi chuckles awkwardly, getting up to his feet and holding a hand out to Ritsuka "It's probably better if we do this in the Tsubaki Avenue" Takeshi tells her, seeming to think it's not a great idea to decurse here
Now they're out in a public street, Takeshi holds up the silver necklace and examines it with curiosity. "Ehhh ... What even is curse on this one?" Takeshi asks, glancing over to Ritsuka "You have any idea?" Takeshi asks, foolishly taking his eyes off of the necklace for a moment ...
Raina waves at Ritsuka and Takeshi "hello, are you both good today?" Raina asked as she looks at the cursed object again in her brothers hands "you sure attract a lot of those huh..." Raina mutters as she stares at the necklace with a great disdain.
Ritsuka draws a little wakizashi from a hidden sheath, drawing it over her palm to let blood flow. "More time for blood. You both remember what you need to do?" She asks, sounding dispassionate, detached as her eyes wanders to the item Takeshi is holding and breads of her blood turn into twilight flames that begin to burn at the cursed inscription.
Growing air pressure makes your ear's pop uncomfortably and deadens all sound.
"Eh? No?" Takeshi asks, trying to remember if Ritsuka had ever actually told him what it was he needed to do. "Did you ever go thro----- ----- ---- -----" As he's talking, all sound deadens cutting him off. Takeshi frowns, realizing his voice is making no sound as he watches the fire start to lick at the inscription on the necklace ...
Not sure what else to do, Takeshi holds it up for Ritsuka to work with, wincing a little as the fire licks at his skin, but not caring enough to mention it.
Raina nods and walks behind Takeshi as she holds him in place in a rather quick and concise way, it is routine at this point and she really doesnt like cursed objects much let alone ones that keep being stick on her brother for some reason "i remember, sadly i cant exactly decurse stuff myself..." Raina speaks but no words will reach any of them she still speaks anyways even if her ears popped like a balloon on a wall of spikes.
Oh, there is pain. Ritsuka slices across her palm again, letting her natural regeneration heal it anyway as more beads of Twilight Foxfire draws from her blood - and licks Takeshi's skin just a little bit more while the flames try to burn the curse away. "Raina. Make sure we are covered and no one unaware or mundane is watching from the rest of the courtyard."
Growing air pressure makes your ear's pop uncomfortably and deadens all sound.
His face curls up a little more, the upper layers of his skin searing, boils raising up before collapsing, the skin peeling off to reveal the pinkend, tender flesh just under the skin. Still, his hand remains in place, and just as quickly as the skin was scorched off of him, new skin was gently knitting it's self back into place. An ongoing territory war playing out on the skin just avove his wrist, each flick of flame pushing the burn further up the wrist before the line of the burn is slowly pushed further back up Takeshi 's hand by the healing ...
Raina nods as she produces a rope and ties Takeshi hands and feet, outside is not ideal to decurse things since well, normal people exist and it would be troublesome if they get near it, with the vatican being a thing to regulate supernaturals and their influence upon the world Raina knows enough that to earn their ire is, unwise, so after finishing her knots she turned her attention to seek any of those normal people passing by or not and readies and explanation or two to shoo them away.
And now there is another pop again and it seems it is still one curse that seems tame compared to clothes being turned on actual fire. And so, instead she continues to torture someone there, the flames burn at the curse, and on skin, too and when the noise returns she mentions. "Think everyone has their car in repairs right now. Siofra is involved in letting some freaks in that have been manipulating cars." Ritsuka says, idle, her eyes only slightly focused.
"Yeah, the breaks were cut on my bike this morning" Takeshi says, his voice audibly strained as he talks through the pain of the fire. He looks over this shoulder as Raina starts to tie him up "Is this really necessary?" Takeshi asks with with a frown, moving his hand up to grip his wrist before looking to Raina "Don't drive your bike until the hooligans are out of town" Takeshi tells her "Mine had to be taken into the shop"
"ah so i wasnt the only one who noticed, what is going on actually and who is siofra?" Raina asked as she keeps a keen eye out for any mundane who are curious of the situation Raina briefly turned to look at Takeshi and Ritsuka "well im glad i didnt actually get here by bike then, ritsuka sama, how is your day anyhow?" so far the decursing is, very tame compared to several other time this has happened Raina even thought on giving her blood right this second...but decides to wait until the item has been decursed fully.
For several seconds the room grows painfully hot.
"ow...seriously now it wants to act out what a stubborn curse" Raina can feel her blood boiling literally she winces for a moment, but at this point nothing that is too surprising, unlike her now almost daily life this is rather...normal, maybe she should get a therapist, actually no because the vatican and their secrecy would not allow her to dump all her pain and suffering she has accrued over the month "...i wish was a bird..." Raina mutters to herself, all her worries would simply disappear if she didnt have enough brainpower to care about it.
"Another day with people who believe I have nothing better to do." Ritsuka answers quite plainly to Raina, using her free hand to wipe some of the sweat beads from her forehead that form when it grows utterly uncomfortably and painfully hot, and then she makes to approach Takeshi, wakizashi going to slice into his flesh this time to let blood flow onto the cursed item. "Need more blood to decurse it."
Grimacing as the flames burst out further from the item, Takeshi holds his hand out with a sharp hiss, leaning back to try and keep it from his face "I think it's freaking out, Obachan!" Takeshi tells Ritsuka with a slight concern to his voice.
"Talk to Muse-chan about that" Takeshi cackles softly to Raina under his breath, trying to distract himself from the searing pain "She got turned into a bird." He says before yelping as Ritsuka cuts him open, his blood flowing free!
"We will see." Ritsuka says, non-answering really as she does watch the precious dark red liquid flower onto the item, where her flames burn at the curse. "Curses tend to come at a cost when they are like this. And the cost is often paid in life."
With a final burst of power the curse on a silver necklace is broken.
