(Sarah's bargaining)
[Sat Jan 13 2024]
In Town Hall Northern Meeting Room
It is about 50F(10C) degrees.
Sarah walks in with a second briefcase in hand, then nodding at representative of The Dynasty. "Ah, if it isn't my..." She cocks her head, "...Chinese friend. Liu?" An annoyed expression is given and the representative corrects her, "...Ah. Well, I don't exactly care." She puts the briefcase on the table, then taps on it several times. "This briefcase contains, mm.." She tilts her head, "...Just about every route you have for importing resources from the Other. Illegally, that is." The doctor licks her upper teeth, "...Would be a shame if something happened there, don't you agree?" She narrows her eyes, then gestures for the representative to stand up. Confused and slightly rattled, they comply. Sarah smiles, then drags the chair, slowly, to the other side of the table, eyes fixed on them the entire way. She sits down there, the other now standing as the hand president sways her head from side to side. "...So I think your position is clear here, no? We should be /very/ good friends. And friends... Friends do favors for each other. Such as making problems... disappear."
Sarah is sat on a chair, with representative of The Dynasty standing, seeming to be enjoying herself while the representative looks rather uncomfortable, a briefcase on the table between them.
Solomon nods to Sarah. "Doctor Wilson," he says to her with a smile, before he turns to representative of The Dynasty. "There is always mortal power," he shares. "But it is the unnatural, immortal power that is hardest to grasp. This is a thing those I... represent... can offer," he says. "With perfect attorney-client discretion, of course."
"That you can. The Inigos can offer much of that." Sarah agrees, "What Mr. Inigo - and his... organization... cannot offer, however, is the security that your trade routes for materials from the Other remain..." Sarah trails off as if looking for a word, glancing at Solomon, "...Uninterrupted." A smile follows, "...His deal is most interesting of course. But will you take a chance of profit at the price of a guaranteed loss?"
"It all depends on your interests," Solomon replies. "Do not mistake me: I have no quarrel with Doctor Wilson's associates," he says. "Many of them are interested in the things those I represent offer. Indeed, I think in so many ways, we are sympatico." A pause. "However, as an opportunity today? Well. One can buy security."
Sarah crosses her legs on the chair, seeming confident. "Our power in this town is supreme, and no trade with the Other happens outside of the sight of the Tower." She tilts her head, "How brave are you, I wonder?" Sarah asks of representative of The Dynasty, glancing at Solomon, "...What did the Dynasty do to people who fail them? I forgot the price. I'd imagine it is high though..." A smile twitches on her face, "...I'd love to see it, some time."
There is an easy shrug to Sarah. "There are always deals to be made with the Hand," Solomon says. "Our opportunities are more... specialized."
