Solomons Bargaining 240828

(Ash's bargaining)

[Mon Aug 19 2024]

In Town Hall Northern Meeting Room

It is about 65F(18C) degrees.

"Good evening," Solomon tells Korina and Ash. "How are you all tonight?" he wonders, before he turns to look at representative of The Undergods. "It seems you have quite the stable of suitors," he tells the figure. "Such a strange thing for those given such exile."

Korina squints at Ash wandering around the whole building before they finally make their way into the meeting rooms, and then there's another, squintier squint for Solomon. She's got nothing to offer in way of pleasantries, instead just sniffing once and addressing the representative of The Undergods. "The Hand has many demigods already," she claims, and she's /clearly/ not the assigned diplomat anywhere at all, because that seems to be her pitch, for the most part.

A pause.

"Join us."

There's an eying of Ash. They can do better in her stead, surely.

"Swim shorts, really?" Solomon asks Ash with humor after his eyes linger for a moment on Korina. Then he turns to look at representative of The Undergods. "There are many to make you offers, I am sure," he says. "But understand that your true plight is known to few. There are forever those who are looked over," he explains. "Those who are trodden down: those who are laughed and at forgotten," he explains. "But we all know that in the depths of the earth -- in the very Pit itself -- there is power. The Damned offers those bargains," he explains. Then he looks back at Korina. "Is that a general offer? I consider it, sometimes," he admits. "But it has been a long time since I meddled in mortal politics."

Ash nods to Solomon with a smile, saying, "Doing well, I had a fun time earlier." Turning to representative of The Undergods, they say, "Of course they do. Who does not wish to cheer on the underdog?" They glance at Korina with a slight narrowing of their eyes before continuing. "Even the Hand does. Especially when they are such wonderful customers. Customers that, I hope, understand that if anyone does business well, and *right*, it's the Hand. Quality, skill, professionalism, and power. All things needed to keep your House well furnished, well protected, and triumphant against the threats that who else but the Hand is well equipped, and well trained to deal with? It's what we do, is it not? And what we can do for you." They give them, a slight bow, grinning slightly, saying, "At your service, should you choose well."

"So many wolves," Solomon observes. "And it was a nice time at Tabitha's new place, wasn't it?" he comments to Ash.

Ash nods to Solomon, saying with a grin, "It was! Too bad it ended so soon, but when all the fun people leave..." They shrug helplessly, sighing sadly.

"Am I not a fun person?" Solomon banters back Ash.

Korina tilts her head to the side while she listens to Solomon and Ash both, and then immediately grimaces at the cacophony of howls that sounds in the distance outside, not seeming very pleased at all by the noise at all. "Offering /borrowed/ power on a bargain," she tells Solomon with a wrinkling of the nose, "I suppose if they want to remain Undergods forever." She glances over at representative of The Undergods as she says it, but she isn't really too invested, if the yawn that follows, stifled behind her hand, is anything to go by. "You can sink into Hell, or you can rise to rule the world." It's their decision, really.

"We all borrow power," Solomon shares with Korina. "I prefer to know the terms of my bargains up-front." He glances towards the window. "I will be pleased indeed when the moon passes."

Ash grins wider at Solomon, saying back, "Yes. And then you left, leaving me with Harry and Alina. Party over, no?"

"I am sure the President can offer you a bargain if you want to join the Hand as well, though," Korina tells Solomon with an innocent blink of her eyes. Definitely not /her/ going to be handling it.

Ash ignores the howls with only a squint of their eyes in response, finding the snake in their midst far more enjoyable.

Solomon admits to Ash, "I was called away." He glances back at Korina. "We'll see," he says noncommittally. "What is it the poet said about serving in Hea'n?"

There's a tilt of Korina's head to the side, eyebrows arching up. She's got no idea what Solomon's talking about in the least.
