(Solomon's decursing attempt)
[Sat Jun 22 2024]
On Prospect Street beside Westhaven
It is after dusk, about 87F(30C) degrees, and there are a few wispy white clouds in the sky. There is a waning gibbous moon.
Solomon says "I have acquired an artifact to decurse. I am in my office."
Solomon says "Appreciated. "
"It's good to see you," Solomon tells Autumn. "We need one more, I think -- or just to wait a moment," he tells her. "How have you been?"
"Ah -- here we are," Solomon says to Autumn, turning to begin to chant in earnest.
"I have been well so far," Autumn answers with a nod of her head. "Got new weapons and learned how to deal with growing heat. Most of ghost banishings I have been at were same trio of troublesome ghosts." She then nods again and lifts her hand out, chanting quietly under her breath.
Solomon sets the bone ring on the table, beginning to set out a quintet of black candles around it. With the candles arranged, he gestures, lighting them with a flame. "I would like very much to be done with that trio of ghosts," he shares. "They are -- the same, again and again."
"True," Autumn replies to Solomon while she looks down at the ring. "They are very tedious, and I remember getting attacked by them many times. They just never stop until source behind their appearances is stopped."
"I sometimes think we should help the Spears take this eidolon down," Solomon says. "If only to quiet that trio of ghosts." He shifts his hand, and it's as if he is weaving, starting to guide the candle-flames into a lattice above the bone ring.
A blast of force sends Autumn flying into Solomon.
"Makes sen-" Autumn's words are interrupted when the force blasts her onto Solomon. "Oof," she murmurs before she gets back to her feet. "Sea Spears have been quiet lately though. But yes." With some small gestures of her hands, the runes on her hand bracelet begins to glow as she channels her energy.
The artifact emits a flash of blinding light.
For several seconds the room grows painfully hot.
Flinching and covering her eyes from the blinding light, Autumn blinks and rubs her eyes with one hand while she regains her vision until she resumes chanting. The woman does not flinch from the growing heat with and she focuses her power on the cursed ring.
An arc of lightning blasts out of the artifact to strike Solomon, sending him flying.
Noticing the strike on Solomon, Autumn moves to aid him as her bracelet glows brighter. Using her left hand, she assists and sends her magic towards the bone ring with a gesture of her fingers.
With a final burst of power the curse on a bone ring is broken.
