Tabithas Ghost Banishing 240403
On an eerie morning at Arkwright Cemetery, Tabitha, accompanied by Carmine and Silas, faced the daunting task of banishing three malevolent spirits, manifested in a grotesque blend of ballroom and pirate attire, menacing the grounds. The ghosts, armed with flintlock pistols, cutlasses, and knives, immediately targeted Tabitha, causing a sensation of being shot and threatened with sharp weapons, though no physical harm was visible. Tabitha, determined to rid the cemetery of these spectral nuisances, pulled out her tools, including a nearly spent smudge stick and a bag of salt. She began to form a protective circle around herself and her companions, despite the spirits' aggressive interruptions, which ranged from gunshots to ghostly pocket-picking.
The trio resorted to combining their efforts with a mix of blood magic and protective chants. Silas attempted to siphon power from the grave soil, while Carmine, albeit reluctantly, allowed her blood to be used to strengthen Tabitha's sigils. As Tabitha led a powerful chant, designed to banish the spirits by invoking cleansing and protective forces, the ghosts' attacks grew more desperate. However, the group's combined strength and determination paid off when, following Tabitha's lead, they completed the chant and Silas scattered the enchanted soil towards the encroaching spirits. In a display of otherworldly force, the spirits, entwined in a sudden whirl of spectral energy and strange music, were finally absorbed back into the ground, leaving the cemetery calm once more. Through teamwork and a blend of magic and resolve, Tabitha, Silas, and Carmine succeeded in their ghostly confrontation, highlighting the power of unity against malevolent forces.

On the Sprawling Hillside of Arkwright Cemetery
It is morning, about 42F(5C) degrees, and the sky is covered by dark grey stormclouds.
A haunting piano melody suddenly creeps over the graveyard as one by one, three spectral forms raise up into sight. Each is somewhat decayed and dressed in a mix of ballroom gown and old pirate garb, one wields a pair of flintlock pistols, another a wicked cutlass and the third a pair of sharp looking knives.
Carmine tips her head to that comment then shows some recognition for Tabitha at her arrival. "Hello Tabitha." she says as she removes the butt of her cigarette from her mouth. She flicks the ash towards the grave moments before the haunting piano melody begins to play. She frowns at this then glances to her cigarette as if questioning if she caused this to start.
"I've not seen you around in some time," Tabitha banters to Carmine, while she begins to pull out a few tools of the trade from her tote, including a smudge stick that is near burnt out and but a stub.
Tabitha's shoulder suddenly burns as the flicklock wielder materializes long enough to fire a shot into her, there's no visible wound.
"Good morning, Tabitha," Silas says to Tabitha even if his face shows he might not be enjoying this morning. The piano music causes him to groan out softly and he says, "Be ready to duck and cover behind things. If it is these same assholes as the other times I have come here to try and rid them from this place." He takes the moments before the onslaught of spirit attacks to converse and catch up, "I'm Silas, by the way, Carmine, was it? And how have you been Tabby?" He didn't have long to catch up as that shot hits Tabitha.
The haunting melody begins, and Tabitha looks upward. "It would be a lovely song, if it weren't for these meddling ghosts." She draws out a bag of salt and starts to pour it out in a circle. But before she can even complete it, she is shot in the shoulder by an unseen bullet, and takes a stumbling bumble back from Silas and Carmine.
"I returned to Haven recently." Carmine says as she decides her cigarette is not the cause. She's just about to place the butt of the cigarette back between her lips when a gunshot instinctively makes her dip and reach a hand into her trenchcoat for a weapon before she realizes that there is no obvious gunman. "Are we under attack?"
"They are pesky things," Tabitha admits to Silas, rubbing at her shoulder before she tries to complete her circle around her, Silas and Carmine all. "We are, watch your pockets. They are grabby things, too." She mentions, "Last time I dealt with these, I left a tribute of gold for them, which seemed to have worked, but I can not figure out the best way to truly banish them."
The double knife weilder appears suddenly behind Tabitha, cackling right in her ear before rearing back to stab her in the back.
With a circle almost complete around Silas, Carmine and Tabitha, the man lowers down towards the graveyard dirt and soil. He presses a hand there, holding onto something within it and focuses while watching for movement at the periphery, "I have unfortunately had to try to deal with them many times already. I don't know the best way to permanently get rid of them either, but I know that you might be suffering through this ordeal until they run out of energy today, Tabby. They seem to have targeted one person the times I have had to try and deal with them."
Carmine retrieves a revolver from her pocket and aims it just past Tabitha's shoulder and tells her, "Don't move!" but she doesn't pull the trigger as the ghost disappears before she can fail to blow it away. Shes wears under her breath then says, "You might want to act fast before Tabitha is cut to pieces."
A blade is drawn, but it is not to attack the spectral masqueraders, but to slice the sharp edge along Tabitha's lifeline. Blood begins to pool in her hand, and the artist in her dips a finger into the crimson. Only to be startled and distracted by being shivved by a non-corpreal knife. By the looks of it, the feeling is the same. "Yes..." she hisses to Silas, a light gasp upon her lips beforehand. She tells Carmine, "Stay in the circle and you should be fine. As Silas says, I am their current dance partner." She holds up her hands to Carmine, "Don't shoot! I prefer ghostly bullets to a real one!" She then kneels with the man and starts to draw sigils on the mass gravesite.
Carmine puts away her revolver but looks displeased she can't fight this threat the standard way. Head on. She gives up on her cigarette by dropping it on the ground and stomping it out then she ask Tabitha and Silas, "What can I actually do then?"
The cutlass-wielder attacks Tabitha, driving her back as the flintlock lady appears behind her, using the distraction to go through her pockets.
The ground beneath Silas begins to shift while he crouches there beside Tabitha who is taking the brunt of the efforts of these spirits, including rifling through her pockets! He does lift his hand up and slashes in the air towards the spirit closest, trying to engage it with some sort of arcane power himself before it vanishes. He returns his hand to the ground afterwards now and tries to focus some of his energy in Tabitha's efforts, "You might be able to contribute some of your own essence here to help with her. I am just going to try to delay and stall them as they show up."
The symbol is drawn, the emblem of Hecate, for those who would be in the know. Tabitha looks up at Carmine, "I meant don't shoot directly at me!" She chuckles dryly, wheeling about as ghostly digits dig about in her clothing and seek to pilfer whatever they are able from her. "Shooting them may distract them. I've often considered bringing a gun that shoots salt bullets, but what works on t.v. doesn't mean it will work in real life." She gestures to Silas, and his work along the grave. "Help Silas? I'll start a chant to hopefully send these back to some semblance of rest."
Tabitha nods then to Silas, "Or that. Repeat as I say."
Tabitha holds out her knife toward Carmine, "And give me your hand."
Carmine scowls faintly at Tabitha's request but considering the circumstance she extends her hand out to Tabitha and says, "Only this one time."
Tabitha's shoulder suddenly burns as the flicklock wielder materializes long enough to fire a shot into her, there's no visible wound.
"You say that now, Carmine," Tabitha says to her with a half smile. "Until they come again." She tilts her head to the woman in kind. "Thank you." And so the blade is sluiced through her hand, but not deep to be anything but a mere flesh wound. "Let your blood spill in the center of my sigil, or that of Silas'. The dagger is flicked upward as she takes another ghostly shot to the shoulder, Carmine's blood flying from the blade to splatter across the woman's face. "Ow..." she complains with a hiss of breath and a rub of the affected arm."
Silas prepares his own form of magic alongside Tabitha while Carmine begins to contribute to her chanting. He seems on the defensive right now and with that swirl of dark magic about his hand clutching at the grave beneath him as if siphoning power from it he waits, and with keen eyes now much sharper than before during the dangerous times these spirits present, he waits. He waits for the next attempt they create to hurt Tabitha and tries to intercept or deflect some of the damage they may cause.
The three spirits encircle the group, flicking in and out of reality as they coral them.
Carmine flinches ever so slightly when Tabitha slices her hand. Indicating pain, but pain that is easily hidden. She moves then to the sigil as said and squeezes her hand into a tight fist to encourage a few droplets to well out of her palm. The blood drips then onto the sigil as instructed. "They really don't care for you."
It would appear that Silas's attempt at syphoning the power from the trio has worked, for they start to waver in and out of existence. However, each attempt brings them closer to the circle again, as if they mock the corporeal trio of Tabitha, Silas and Carmine. "Not the first time I've heard that..."
The cutlass-wielder attacks Tabitha, driving her back as the flintlock lady appears behind her, using the distraction to go through her pockets.
Tabitha begins to chant, "Evil spirits, begone from here. By this chant, I banish fear. By the moons grace and the suns light, negativity, take your flight." She places her hand onto the ground now, and gathers up dirt to mix her blood into the soil. "With this verse, I break the chains, banishing troubles, fears, and pains." She looks to Silas and Carmine both, "Let this spell remove what harms; banish negativity with open arms." She says, the look as if to explain, 'repeat this part': "As I speak, so mote it be. Let this chant set my spirit free."
"My spirits... the spirits.." Tabitha says, after a moment. "The spirits!"
Silas reaches out to take some of the soil that has mingled and mixed blood within it. He lifts it up into the air and tosses it during Tabitha's chanting to suddenly have it shoot out away from himself and spray through the air towards where the spirits are trying to circle around them all, pressing in closer to try and encroach on that circle of protection upon the ground.
Carmine opens her hand to find it well and messy with her blood. She frowns at this inconvenience then she looks to Tabitha expectantly for results from this
The three spirits begin to convulse and shake, they quickly move to grip each other, forming a tight circle as they spin faster and faster, strange orchestral music flowing through the air from nowhere before suddenly they are sucked down into the ground and vanish.
