In A Hot Spring Bath
The gentle sound of water trickling into a stone basin welcomes as the rooms warmth envelops the senses. This private bath, or onsen, appears to be quite tranquil. Smooth stone tiles line the floor, warmed by the heat of the spring water that fills the central pool. Steam rises softly, creating a mist that dances in the lantern light and casts gentle reflections on the walls. The pool itself is a natural formation, with rounded stones encircling its edges.
In the corner, a small wooden bucket and ladle rest by a low bench. The faint smell of cedarwood mingles with the scent of fresh, mineral-rich water. Above the spring, a simple wooden torii gate is mounted.
It is about 50F(10C) degrees.
Takeshi looks over at Maria and frowns "Ehhhh?" He complains before a mischievous look comes over his face. He /stealthily/ slides up behind Maria before two strong hands grips her at her waist! Before she knows what's happening, she's been hoisted high up into the air above Takeshi' head as he starts walking her over to the water "Take bath!" He insists with his wide, pointy toothed grin as he, gracelessly, chucks her into the water!
Maria is picked up, seemingly effortlessly. "Eh?" And, she's chuckled into the bath, splashing water everywhere as she lands. Still clothed. Letting out a sharp, frustrated sigh as happiness seems to quickly escape her.
As if fate was punishing him for being a menace to society, at that very moment a portal opens up in the air in front of Takeshi and a golden dagger falls out of it falling into his hands "Eh?" He asks, raising the dagger up into the air!
In a single moment, Takeshi is shrunk to half his usual size! Standing three foot tall now as the golden dagger looks like a sword in his hand "Wait?!" He shouts, his voice high pitched and comedic now "What going on?!"
As if fate was punishing him for being a menace to society, at that very moment a portal opens up in the air in front of Takeshi and a golden dagger falls out of it falling into his hands "Eh?" He asks, raising the dagger up into the air!
In a single moment, Takeshi is shrunk to half his usual size! Standing three foot tall now as the golden dagger looks like a sword in his hand "Wait?!" He shouts, his voice high pitched and comedic now "What going on?!" (Repost)
Takeshi is three foot tall, currently.
Takeshi says "Yes, I feel a cursed object! It right here!"
Takeshi waves the golden dagger that now looked like a sword in his hand, his voice squeaking high pitched!
Takeshi says "I didn't bring it here! I just picked it up! It appeared out of some weird portal!"
Raina looks at Maria "maria are you in the know as well...also here" Raina tossed a towel at maria while she just stare at Takeshi who is holding a cursed dagger "do you mean you know how to decurse thigs miss maria" Raina calmed down enough to start being polite again "also takeshi, we should get out of the hot springs and inform ritsuka sama" Raina felt a bit lost on how to do decursing "or do you know how to do so, since you are my senior here"
Takeshi waves the dagger about in the air like he's trying to let go of it but his hand will not let it go! "It stuck!" He barks out in his horribly high pitched voice "I can't let go! Help me!"
Maria lets out a deep sigh. "First, I need Takeshi to stop panicking, and to not stab me on accident." She curls her hand into a fist, and said fist starts radiating with warmth, and a kind of energy, slightly golden-ish. "I know the ritual for this."
Takeshi is flailing! Getting close to him without getting stabbed will not be easy!
Raina sighs at Takeshi antics "its cursed ofcourse it got stuck..." Raina is halfway wondering what she should do before she shrugs and just got around takeshi and hold both of his hands in a full nelson hold to stop him from moving so erratically "stop, just stop panicking, why are you even scared in the first place"
For several seconds the room grows painfully hot.
Being tiny, Raina would be able to grab a hold of Takeshi without too much trouble! A stark contrast to the usual relationship of who manhandled who as he gets lifted up into the air, feet kicking as he squeals mightily "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Maria decides to keep walking nonetheless. "We're losing time." She hisses out, deciding to avoid the flailing hand, and then gently move to the other side - she seems to be aware of Takeshi's huge strength, as evidenced by the fact he threw her in the bath, so with some cunning, Maria decides to merely outmanever than to outpower the boy. "I don't need him to not stab me, I just need it to not stop the ritual... as long as I don't get hit in the vitals... I will be fine."
She decides, quite resolute on it, starting cast the ritual proper... It appears like she's murmuring something in latin, as if reciting prayers, that golden energy in her hand starting to grow brighter, her energy attempting to wrestle the influence of the artifact.
Raina is sweating hard...but she held Takeshi tightly so as not to let Takeshi or likely the cursed object to fly off the handle and stab Maria who is doing most of the work decursing the object "i swear not a single day has been dull with you brother..." Raina said in a half annoyed half worried tone "just try and stay till and if you plan to stab someone, do it at me and no one else...got it" Raina honestly is scared of getting a cursed knife ran into her...but she is the more expendable one here so she isnt gathering up all her courage to face this crisis as well as she can.
A section of Takeshi's clothing catches fire.
Held in a full nelson, the short arm holding the dagger would be flailing entirely into open air as he continues to squeal! The swelling of heat doesn't seem to bother him much, as if he might have some kind of resilience to such a thing, but that wouldn't help Maria or Raina as the hot spring water starts boiling, and then suddenly, Takeshi' trousers catch on fire! "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" He continues screaming, sounding like it might be mighty if he simply didn't sound like a chipmunk right now! What would Raina do? Would you she keep trying to hold onto Takeshi even when he was on fire?!
"whoah!?" Raina nearly let go from the suprise but instead she took a dive to the bath, between the sweltering heat, some burns from hot water was better than being set on fire "why does this keep happening, damn you cursed dagger!" Raina was 110/ done with the nonsense she is in, all she wanted to do was take a bath, why does this keep happening, she eventually pin takeshi down on the water for a brief moment to put the fire out before scrambling out and pins his dagger hand behind his back "miss maria how is it on your end?"
grumbles. "Keep holding him, if we let him go he'll turn into a crisp!" Indeed, there was sunk cost fallacy involved, she decided to mostly ignore the fire, yet the girl herself didn't possess such resilience, as judge by the fact that she was actively sweating, moving onto another part of the ritual, she grabbed onto the man's hand which held the dagger - that hand of Takeshi's Starting to hurt, badly. It was as if it was burning, but that kind of burning felt different, it was Maria's very own life force invading his, trying to wrestle the control from the cursed artifact.
It felt like his muscles were being torn apart, as his body was used for a metaphorical tug of war between the powers of the dagger, and the mystic knowledge of Maria.
"I'll hold up well." She blinks a few times, trying to keep herself conscious even as the fire surrounds them.
The whole room shakes.
Takeshi is dunked down into the water! There's a sharp *hissss* as his pants on fire are set out, and his screams turn from squeaking messes into the garbled mess of a drowning person! His hand swells in pain as Maria grabs it, pulling it out of the water as the entire room starts to shake, dust falling from the ceiling as he tries to get free from his sister, his head bobbing up and down out of the water as he screams!

Raina refuses to even let up for a moment, even if she is going to be stabbed she is determined to see this cursed object be uncursed even if she is hit wit grievous bodily harm "please hang on tight miss maria i think we almost got it" Raina is somewhat thankful that they are basically on the floor for this or else the shaking is going to actually knock them off their feet "come on, just be uncursed already you stupid knife"
An arc of lightning blasts out of the artifact to strike Raina, sending her flying.
Maria feels her feet shake, and she struggles with Takeshi as the guy screams. The shaking of the floor however gives way for a nearly fatal mistake - her energy tugs too much, briefly winning control over Takeshi's body, but because of the imbalance in her own footing, she drags her hand, which causes the muscles to snap, and the knife lodges itself next to her armit, closer to her shoulder, impaing her briefly. The fire within the dagger then sears the wound as she lets out a horrible yelp.
"HOLD ON!" She pushes the knife out of her, only for it to crackle with lightning, but this time, shooting out towards Raina.
"We're almost THERE!" She grits her teeth, whimpering in pain as she continues to recite latin phrases, different christian symbols starting to sprawl across Takeshi's hand, trying to make that momentarily control over his body more permanent, trying to uncurse the artifact.
"augh!?" Raina got hit by a lightning, of all the things she can get hit by, indoor lightning was just "t-that is just...not good" Raina hopes she bought enough time to actually decurse the object...but...well she is sure she didnt so instead of just passing out from the pain she scrambled to get on her feet and just grabs onto takeshi again and holding the knife down despite the recent electrocution "hurry...i dont think i can take another bolt and actually survive...."
As Raina is hurled off of his back, no one is holding him back and the failing dagger finds a home inside of Maria's armpit! Raina would quickly wade back through the hot springs to try and grab a hold of him, but the damage had already been done and the knife was buried in Maria's body! "I DON'T WANNA BE TINY!!!" Takeshi squeals, bringing his head above water for a single moment before his flailing sends him back underwater once more!
With a final burst of power the curse on a golden dagger is broken.
