Tomass Bargaining 240316

(Solomon's bargaining)

[Fri Mar 15 2024]

In Town Hall Northern Meeting Room

It is about 50F(10C) degrees.

"Ah," Solomon tells representative of The People. "It is good to see you." A hand is extended. "Solomon Inigo. I represent forces that can be helpful. Your people are nomadic, living off the land, and they need the knowledge of the stars and the moon. Those I represent have that knowledge," he shares. "They can guide you to the places you may need. They can help you find water and food, and bring you power in the night." He glances at Tomas. "Nephew," he says smoothly, as he talks to the man here.

"Uncle Solomon," Tomas replies, a wry smile touching his lips. "It is good to see you." Of course it would be the two Inigo men getting business done in the town hall. "/My/ name," he introduces himself to the representative, "Is Tomas Inigo. I'm Head Keeper and Interim President of the Haven chapter of the Hand. It's a position of considerable influence; here and across all the worlds that intersect here in our lovely town." He sticks out a gloved hand for the rep to shake, then continues, "I may be lackin' the social graces of my esteemed uncle, but you'll find that allying yourself with the Hand to be one of the best possible choices you could make for your people. Our grip speaks for itself."

"Extremely strong," Solomon agrees with Tomas. "And when one tires of their grip, they switch to the Stranger."

"Personally speaking, of course, I do have a strong presence within the Wilds, as well," Tomas continues, eyeing Solomon from out the corner of his glasses. "I regularly lead rescue operations to recover lost or injured operatives. That same security could be extended for those of the People who were willing to settle a little closer to the gate; I can provide protection from the wolves who've set up in the same location. I've already negotiated personal free passage from them, in fact. To go... unhounded in my efforts." He grins a little at the lazy pun.

"I would not trust bargains with those wolves," Solomon tells Tomas -- and the representative of The People. "He has turned his back on the Hand, and whatever my dear nephew says, it will be enforced with fire." His smile is dark. "Me and mine have that fire," he shares. "There are powers greater than a clenched fist."

Tomas lets out a quiet grunt at Solomon's rebuttal, lifting a shoulder. "Of course you can't trust the werewolves, but they have very good reasons to not break the bargain made. I have more than proven to their leader that getting in my way would be hazardous to his health." He blows out twin plumes of hot breath through his nose, each followed by just the faintest wisps of sulphuric smoke. "And while my uncle's organisation stands as our allies on the border council of Hell, remember that it is the Hand which leads it. Hellfire burns rather hot..."
