Williams Decursing Attempt 250402

(Edith's decursing attempt)

[Sun Mar 23 2025]

At the Bar in the ^Lodge^
This well lit area is home to a long, polished bar that stretches from
west to east along the centermost portion of the northern wall. A number of
refrigerators and shelves within have been filled with various drinks and
town memorabilia for display, but the large head of a black bear mounted
higher on the wall attracts more attention. Food for the bar is prepared on
a cast iron cooking surface behind the bar, but well within sight of
patrons. It's so large that several different meals can all be cooked at
the same time.

Starting to the side of the Lodge's entrance to the north, several booths
follow the old hardwood walls and wrap around the pool tables to the east.
Their sequence is only interrupted there by the exit to the courtyard in the
distance.

A small HD flatscreen television hangs in the southwestern corner, open to
sight for all of those at the bar.

It is about 50F(10C) degrees.

Novel takes a slow and - very obnoxiously noisy - slurp of his coffee.

"Maybe it's some attempt to do a prize thing. Right? You know, like with the... tokens. With that mouse. In the children's casinos," Novel references something that people may or may not pick up on, taking the ring up and making it dance between his fingers only to knock that shit off when Kathlynn pokes at the ring. There's something written on it, to be sure. Looks latin.

All metal objects in the room are suddenly tugged violently towards the artifact.
Kathlynn places her left hand just above the ring, ignoring the screams she hears in the distance, completely focused as she begins to chant "Blessed be by the Mother and the Crone and the Goddess... those things which dwell in darkness... brought to light... to be seen."

Faint runes glimmer on the wooden ring's for a moment as she works.

Novel regards William's violently forced action with some amusement, but then jerks his hand back suddenly - and Kathlynn's - as a fork whizzes through the space that the ring was as it THUNKS into the wall. This follows with the rattle and clank of silverware and the scraping of some chair, and some more than annoyed muttering from various patrons. His own jacket also pulls out, yanking against the edge of the table with a CLUNK. He sort of sighs.

Kathlynn tilts her head curiously as her right hand makes several finger gestures, almost like sign language as she bites her lower lip in concentration.

All metal objects in the room are suddenly tugged violently towards the artifact.
Kathlynn feels her face, specifically her piercing, drawn next to the ring, bumping it with a pained look as the ring seems to burn her momentarily.,. before pulling back and chanting, "By the Goddesses three... and the Lodestone's charm... undo this cursed binding of the ring sylvan."

Kathlynn looks annoyed as that didn't seem to work. She closes her eyes in concentration.

An arc of lightning blasts out of the artifact to strike Ruprecht, sending him flying.

Ruprecht rides the lightning. Lars would be proud. "GADZOOKS!" Comes an enraged cry as he flies out've the booth, shuffling back in with a clutch on his bottle and hair thrown astray like Einstein's.

As the lightning shoots out and Ruprecht is sent flying, Edith grabs the man smoothly, holding him down. Hopefully he doesn't get concusion from the whiplash.

Lorenzo doesn't so much as flinch as the blade strikes the table - he merely glances down with a calm, practiced stillness, as though it were no more startling than a dropped spoon. When Edith clears her throat, he lifts his eyes to her with the kind of reverence born not of fear, but of centuries recognizing the weight of true power.

"Buona giornata, Signora," he replies with a slight bow of his head, voice dipped in velvet and old-world poise. "My thanks for your time, and your grace." Theres no mockery in the words - just the truth as one elder offers it to another.

Then, with a flick of his gaze to Ruprecht, his tone softens, warmer. "Rup... Try not to end up in a sewer, eh? Youve got too much poetry rattling around that head to be drowned out by muddy water." Only to wince when the bolt of electricity sends his -friend- flying.

A ghost of a smirk touches his lips before he turns, jacket shifting like shadow behind him as he slips on those aviators. His steps are unhurried, measured - because a man like Lorenzo doesnt rush.

Kathlynn opens her eyes again looking like she has an idea, She looks over to Edith gratefully as she seems to make a decision. Her voice seems to double as she pulls in her dream self to assist her... gaining a weird echo to it's timber. "Born in Darkness... Invoked by Loki, Raven, and other tricksters... The Goddesses Three I invoke... Pleading with you... send fire to this cursed ring... flame of cleansing... flame of purity."

A section of Edith's clothing catches fire.

Kathlynn eyes widen as she sees the flame erupt. Hoping she didn't do that as she repeats a little louder and more determined "goddesses three I invoke... pleading upon your grace... send fire to this cursed RING... flame of cleansing... flame of purity... destroy this cursed RING."

Novel is by and large unharmed by all the interactions, a smile dancing across his features at the mayhem that's going on around as he takes another long pull from the coffee and breathes out a great, deep, "Ahhhh," Of satisfaction. "Later, Lorenzo."

William pauses for a moment, and, from his spot in the table he simply shrugs and adds to the sound "I don't even know what she's talking about, but it sounds like she knows what she's doing"

Kathlynn runs both her hands across the ring, getting down and dirty with it. "Goddesses three... purify this ring... goddesses three... purify this ring."

With a final burst of power the curse on a wooden ring is broken.
