Battle With Tritonios 241007
As the conflict with Tritonios escalated in Haven Bay beneath the shadowing stormclouds, the group's assault was unyielding. The brazen Kah led the charge into the chilly waters with a battle cry, challenging the creature as he brandished his spear, symbolizing their determination not to let Tritonios escape their wrath this time. Ash, with their sharp wit, taunted the creature while showcasing their speed and agility, though an electrocution cut their mockery short. Simultaneously, Dean and Isaiah pressed forward, with Dean exhibiting brute strength by tossing aside his equipment and transforming into his imposing lycanid form, spitting venom and embodying sheer intimidation. Isaiah's relentless pursuit, coupled with her stern warning to show no mercy, highlighted the group's intent to vanquish Tritonios once and for all. Ash, switching tactics to utilize magical tentacles, exuded confidence, likening themselves to Ursula in the face of their adversary.
Despite the ferocity of the assault, the turning point came when Tritonios chose to halt the confrontation, revealing a depth of sentience previously unacknowledged by the attackers. It spoke of slow and deliberate conversations with those who sought understanding rather than conquest, suggesting a different path could have been chosen by the group. This revelation did little to dampen their aggressive stance, however, as Isaiah and Ash ignored Tritonios's plea for a dialogue based on mutual respect and continued their attack. Tritonios's mention of "mechanical rewards" for those who choose not to subdue it hinted at a lost opportunity for the group to engage with the creature on a more profound level, choosing instead the path of violence. In the end, the story of their battle with Tritonios becomes a cautionary tale of missed connections and the consequences of approaching the unknown with hostility instead of curiosity.

It is morning, about 49F(9C) degrees, and there are a few dark grey stormclouds in the sky.
Leaping into the battle, Kah roars out loud with a vicious battle cry as he splashes down and thrusts a spear at the Tritonios "This time you will not run from us!"
Ash grins viciously, drawling sarcastically, "Gray dreads? Tentacles? You're stealing my look! Well... except you're not hot- fffff!" Sarcasm is rewarded with an electric shock.
Between all the hissing air from his gear, and the bolt-loading, Dean is wading fast and approaching to the best of his ability - singularly focused on Tritonios.
"Fucking coward calling itself a King- don't run anymore," Isaiah seethes, diving into the water and trailing after the beast. It moves, and she moves, and Dean shoves it away, and though the arrow whiffs off into the ocean, it serves more as a warning shot than anything else.
Ash gives their giant copycat a thumbs up as they pulse their tentacles - away.
Ash drawls loudly, "Come to me if you need triage... I can move fast."
Dean tears off his mask and chucks his sword into the water, too. "Alright, fuck this."
Ash realizes something, then switches their speargun to ballistic mode... they have the powers of tentacle magic behind them! "Call me Ursula, you crusty old bitch...."
The deep-water is merely shallow for Dean(wolf) when he stands tall and imposing in front of Tritonios, snarling and spilling acrid, lycanid venom through his fangs as he starts to inch step by step.
Tritonios stops fighting. If the thing were to go helpless, it would deprive those attacking it the metaphysical value of their hunt, but it is not particularly interested in spending effort on those who have never sought to speak with it with it after months of slow conversation with interested seekers of lore about the fae.
Ash cheers, drawling, "Shovel! Briar! Curb-stomp - I mean - kick his ass!"
"The last time we came to speak with the beast, it went to the depths and slept in the water. Show it no mercy," Isaiah warns those around her, continuing to paddle towards Tritonios with no sympathy upon her face for its plight.
Ash follows the cue of Isaiah, shooting harpoon after harpoon at their big copycat grandpa, drawling, "Does he even know how to speak? It hasn't said a word - maybe it just *looks* like it's capable. That would explain it." They're not doing the best job at hurting it, but every shot they take helps slow it down, at least.
Tritonios says "I can speak, little merling. The stories I have told, to those who have come bearing gifts."
Tritonios says "You will need to not subdue me, strange creature, to get your mechanical reward."
