FWIW, I prefer the Big City setting over Small Town. H7 was my favorite iteration of Haven. I played H4 and H5, but skipped H6 because I was tired of Blackfield and the trope of humans remaining mostly unaware while we pretended supernatural shenanigans weren’t happening. That song and dance was fun for a while, but eventually, I wanted to drop the veil and play in a purely supernatural setting. H7 delivered that, it was refreshing and fun. It had some rough edges, sure, but it worked.

As for a Haven Redux, I’m not going to say I won’t play it, but I don’t see myself being motivated or inspired to dive into an old reboot version. Especially not if it brings back classic Blackfield, kid characters, etc.

Things from this system that I would like to see stay: Myhaven, Fated characters, The Great Hunt (but with some tweaks that made it purely opt-in), premade factions and societies (elimination of player-made ones).
Things from previous iteartions I want to see retained: player made coms usingi the radios (unsure if they were eliminated in H5 or not, but I remember them fondly from H4).

I think it’ the Holiday season, and while the Wild Hunt may have been a controversy, I have to say it actually did jump start the who list in that there are more people on now than there had been leading up to that occurrence. Game pops also ebb and flow, just the nature of long-running games, doesn’t mean people have permanently moved on.

I also think some folks are just quieter right now, whether that’s the holidays, burnout, or waiting to see what comes next. Even if more people are sticking to whoinvis, it doesn’t mean interest or investment is completely gone. In my experience the population rebounds when there’s new story momentum, new rp hooks, or that special whatever that pulls people back into play.

I know it feels lonely right now, but I don’t think the game is as empty as it sometimes looks, it’s definitely not dead; this is just a lull.

Okay I see them in help politics, but I still don’t know what patrol types those would be, or how to focus for them.
