Brown Owls

The Brown Owls

Established in 1784, twenty years subsequent to the founding of Brown University, the Brown Owls have a rich history and tradition of pursuing the study of magic and metaphysics, though they've seldom had the prestige to match; largely, the historic student group has - particularly in recent years - struggled to match their regional peers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and at White Oak. They tend to come out on the bottom in the traditional pranks and competitions staged between the rival groups, and the fact that the group was once registered as the Brown University Metaphysics Studies group certainly didn't help with their rivals' characterization of the fledgling magicians as relative bums. Their current ranks include such lights as: feckless do-gooder and saccharine sweetheart Hannah Keefe, socially awkward nerd and pathological pedant Blair Bletchley, and inquisitive budding journalist Emily Archer.

Hannah Keefe

“What good is there in knowledge if it doesn't improve peoples' lives? What point is there in progress if we don't treat each other better? One act of kindness can change a life.”

- Hannah Keefe

Blair Bletchley

“People always act irrationally. You'd think the reasons they do what they do would be interesting, but at the end of the day they always disappoint. People are boring.”

- Blair Bletchley

Emily Archer

“Sometimes it feels like we've lost track of the truth. It's always spin, spin, spin. But the truth is there, if people are willing to look long and hard enough for it.”

- Emily Archer
