"In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back." - Albert Camus
Overview
+What I'm Doing in Haven+
Carter is a freshman at White Oak College, having just began his studies last semester. He's a mischievous, preppy guy, seemingly oscillating between timidity and exuberance, sometimes all in the same night. He's never wanted for much – both of his parents are equity partners at V100 firms – his dad in tax, his mom in litigation – and as such he's lived a comfortable upper-class existence up to his enrollment at White Oak.
Now entering his second semester, Carter grows ever more exposed to the Supernatural World's secrets, with his experience both at school and doing work as an Order Scroll exposing him to plentiful new ideas, people, conflicts, and even stepping foot on other worlds for the first time. Despite his relative inexperience, Carter has leant himself as he can to furthering the Order's benevolent cause, whether that be in fostering goodwill amongst his many new friends and acquaintances, in carefully offering guidance to the unaware without giving too much away too quickly, or even in combat support roles in one of the many conflicts throughout the worlds.
+Where I fit in a Supernatural World+
Carter has been part of the supernatural world for a short period of time - he's still learning and coming to terms with more as time goes on. He's dabbling with a few interests, though seeming to find the esoteric the most interesting and palatable. His apprenticeship with the Red Circle has given him a solid primer on how to leverage his magical potential, and he shows signs of quick development in certain aspects of the Art. Meanwhile, his own personal ideals and philosophies led him to support the cause of the Order, where he's found plentiful opportunities to leverage the new skills he's developed to bring some of those ideals closer to reality.
+RP Hooks+
- The Philosophizer: Carter is currently pursuing a double major in Supernatural History and Philosophy. He loves to chat about meaning and meaninglessness.
- The Trickster: Carter loves to have fun with his acquaintances - sometimes this manifests in harmless banter, other times in elaborate schemes, though he tries to work against his more malicious draws - maybe with the right push he'd be drawn in...
- The Idealist: Carter, at his core, tries to see people as the best version of themselves and wants to push towards that. He feels drawn to reaching out to people in rough spots to offer assistance.
- The Arcanist: Carter has pursued coursework in and actively seeks out opportunities to learn more about the esoteric elements of the world, either through classes, opportunities through his apprenticeship, or practicum.
+OOC Prefs+
Antagonism is welcome (and invited!), but please keep any OOC interactions cordial. I will actively avoid people who try to import OOC drama, especially within the context of an antagonistic relationship.
