LSMC Haven

LSMC Haven
Summary

The Lucky Southies Motorcycle Club (LSMC) has long operated on the fringes of supernatural involvement in order to avoid notice while conducting a profitable business in various forms of illegal goods transportation. With the attacks on the MC in 2021, however, the club decided to charter a supernatural society in Haven and so the Haven group, the Lucky Southies society (LSS), became an official MC chapter (LSMC Haven) as a cover for the society.

The society is not politically motivated and exists to protect the MC and all its enterprises from supernatural threats as well as to help members develop. That being said, it does not exist in a vacuum and so stuff happens...

Temperament

LSS shares the perspectives and priorities of the MC but with allowances for supernatural politics. Most importantly, the society is concerned with maintaining a world of divided power groups on a tribal or family level so that all small groups (especially the MC!) can continue to pursue their private lifestyles and goals without becoming enslaved to some overwhelmingly more powerful organization. This is less idealism than a pragmatic desire to avoid interference with the club's workaday biz.

Faction Views

A world subdivided into individual interests on a level that makes sense to the club. Not broad macro principles, but more individualized and personal family interests. They will form temporary alliances as needed but are less impulsive about longer-term affiliations.

History

The Lucky Southies Motorcycle Club (LSMC) is a small, tightly-knit organized criminal gang loosely related to Boston's Desmond King mob. The group's origins have been traced back to 1966 when five Faeborn formed it to obtain and process runaway and homeless street humans for export to The Other.

In 1982 The Temple decimated the organization and closed down its smuggling operations, leaving only a few members, mostly Naturals from South Boston, tenuously held together by smalltime drug dealing and a need for mutual defense. In 1991 a powerful South Boston werewolf named Vic "Clawman", "Wolfman" O'Rourke joined and soon replaced the existing president, holding the position until he was killed in 2022.

The club slowly grew in power and revenue through drug and arms dealing as well as hiring out as soldiers. Human trafficking was abandoned as an income stream and eventually the bylaws modified to forbid it as a club activity. Currently, the club consists of some 40-70 full members, a handful of prospects and a gaggle of hangarounds, family members and hirelings. An estimated eighty percent of these are Supernaturals and the rest Aware Naturals. While not numerically large, they have a strong reputation for ruthless and effective action.

Much of the uncertainty to actual membership totals or identities can be traced to one Sgt-at-arms named Corey Hughes and his work as a club security expert. Hughes was a top-ranking survivor of the unexpected vicious attacks that took out O'Rourke and several other members on 2022 and some speculate it was his guilt over not uncovering the blow in advance that led to his single-minded drive to rebuild the club afterwards.

Current theory is that the Temple strike did not, as was originally believed, kill off the Original Five arcanists, but simply drove them into hiding. The belief is that the Faeborn, or at least a portion of them, survived in hiding and emerged to retake what had been lost. Some suggest that having been defeated by a Natural society and then having their creation taken over by a werewolf was too serious of a blow to their reputation to go unanswered.

Hughes and his ole' lady, Eileen O'Malley, took refuge in Haven, Massachusetts to build a headquarters for the MC's recovery and vengeance efforts. They established a chapterhouse for the club's Nomads chapter, then began casting a widespread net for allies and information. In time, they applied to the Venetian Council for a society charter as an extension of the MC. Thus strengthened and with new avenues opening, they continued the hunt for the culprits of the attack.

In late 2022 the society took a stance opposing the plans of the Cardinal of Pride in Haven This resulted in a slaughter by that Cardinal at the club's chapter house, The Southie Roadhouse, when the Cardinal attacked and killed the barkeep, a 20-year full patch member. In the days that followed, the reeling Nomad chapter was reinforced by Boston and the Haven presence deemed too dangerous for general club activities.

When the Cardinal was beaten in combat by a combined society force, O'Malley and Hughes began restructuring the Haven LSMC presence into the Haven Chapter of the mundane MC. which served as a cover for the Lucky Southies society. Unaware MC associates from outside the area were directed away from Haven "for business reasons" and the town's chapter became an Aware-only membership.

Currently the club and it's society sibling remain active in the Continental U.S., Mexico and Canada. They are still hunted by a Cardinal, one or more ageless Faeborn founders and the son of a Cardinal.

The Prez

In 2021 when the previous leadership was decimated, Sergeant-at-arms Corey "Sarge" Hughes was the ranking member still standing who had the balls to step up when the Founders hit the national MC. He took the society dark, managed the completion of the club's open biz and led the investigation into the attack. Haven maybe was not the best choice for this given subsequent events, but Hughes still became the new president based on his leadership. He helped form the Haven Chapter and the Society it is a cover for.
